Did anyone have this Dr? Can you tell me what he's like and what your initial impression of him were?
-
I agree with georgia girl. I voted no for similar reasons.

Does anyone know of places in Nyc that does fills?

Lmao. Im a teen bandster so I felt that watching this episode which was about teen wls was a must for me. And I agree so called Dr.Oz iz a complete jackass. It seems like the teen know more about the surgery than he does.
The kids and their parents were disagreeing with Ozzy and with good reason. I guess he feels that because he is a Dr. he knows best.
Well wth what about bariatric DOCTORS? He thinks they don't know what they are doing either. He made me sooo angry idk if you can tell lol but I wud love to strangle the fool with a lap band.

Im 200% against the bypass. Let me tell you why. Its not the pain, or insicions that bother me. I think, well its proven that the band carries less complications than the bypass for one. Its also proven that the bypass has a higher death rate.
Now, yes the bypass cause people to lose weight shockingly faster in a short amount of time. Whereas the band helps you to reach max weight loss in about 18-24months. But after several years the pouch with the bypass can stretch thus making you eat more and regain weight. If u eat more with the band than you should, a simple saline injection is all you need.
Weight loss is slower with the band its true but the heavier you are at surgery...the more will come off that first month or two. I just wanted to give my 2 cents.
The decision is up to you. Good luck with your choice.

Dr. Kuri is where im going. He is also in Tijuana and his price is $7500 minus airfare. If u send in your info on his site...you will get several emails from Fran Steward Within the next 2 days.
It has a whole bunch of inportant stuff on it such as(price package, hospital, hotel, preop, etc). Im having my surgery later this month and I couldn't have picked a better doctor.
Btw..Fran also send an email with the phone numbers of Dr. Kuri's patients. You can speak to the one-on-one for youself.
Good luck with your choice.

I don't think you should do the liquid diet. I do agree that it can help with your stomach size but if u are doin the surgery next year, that is like 5 months.
If u can keep up a liquid diet for that long im not sure if surgery is your last resort. However if you try it anyways and fail as most of us do then go into the horrible "lose weight then gain it back plus more" it would all be for nothing. My advice... don't do it until instructed to do so.

Did anyone ever hear of this Dr? If so, how is he?

Having loose skin is one of my biggest concerns. What's the point if after weight loss and you take your clothes off you look like bread dough.
I found this site a while ago and im posting it in several loose skin threads. Idk how helpful it will be. Here's the link. The Myth of Loose Skin

Having loose skin after weight loss surgery is one of my biggerst concerns. I mean what's the point of losing weight if when you take your clothes off you look like bread dough.
I went on this site a while ago. Im not sure how helpful it will be but here's the link.

Tonight on oprah focuses on teens that had weight loss surgery and a look inside a 340-pound boy who will have gastric bypass. Also itt features Cassie, a former patient from Mexicos Dr. Ortiz.
I live in Ny so the channel over here wud be (WLNY 10) Tonight at 7pm. Check your listings.

I've been wondering about bras. The lap band will be my first operation and I want to know if you can wear a bra. I just have a very large chest.

Chris brown is a year older than me but I love the older men. Mekhi Phifer, Tyson Beckford...delicious!!! Damn

The only people that know is my family. The only non-supportive person is my older sister who also has a weight problem. She's mad that im taking the steps to lose weight. She wants me to stay big just like her for the rest of my life. So I decided..
Im also going to keep this surgery to myself. I go to school and where I go, the girls are horrible. Never mind boys. But females in general have a certain rudeness and cattyness that goes along with gossip and rumors.
I know that this is exactly what will happen if I tell people anbout the surgery. They will go around spreadung it and making up all kinds of stupid stuff about me.
Another reason I refuse to tell people in school is because they won't be supportive. These girls arw the type to get upset if you look better than they do. They can't handle it and even though they will notice as I lose weight, they don't need to know that I did surgery.
If someone is just plain tactless/nosy and ask why I am losing so much weight...i'll say:because I want to get healthy. If they how I am going to lose the weight I'll say: by exercising and eating less/better.
None of these are lies so I feel comfortable saying this. Just make sure you close the loopholes. Some people may ask why do I care what other people think or say. My answer is that I have been throught enough stress and tears before surgery. Enough pain just after surgery and I don't need either from negative people.
This is our time to make a difference and shine and we WILL!!
I wish everyone luck with their decisions and their surgery.

Lmao. I hope I get to do that. Awesome!!!!
