  1. I can't use my weight as an excuse not to do things now. I miss the days when no one would ask me climb a ladder or do anything that requires physical activity (not really) haha.

My foot size is smaller now so I can't wear many of my nice shoes. Time to buy new ones. I used to wear size 11 and now between 9.5 and 10

  2. We had a company function in December and I was the talk of the event. I didn't go last year so this was the first time a lot of people saw me since the WLS. I could tell that people were talking about me and many of them came over to say hi and ask me how I managed to lose the weight. I guess everyone had "lose weight" in their 2024 resolutions. I gave them the "eating healthy and cycling" answer and even showed them photos of my mountain bike.

A lot of them reminded me of how huge I was before and that they were really concerned etc. This was the first time I'm hearing these comments which I assume were always made behind my back. Then they started talking the same about other people who need to lose weight calling them fat and make jokes about them. I was not amused and couldn't help it but telling them to stop. People can be really mean. You don't know what those people are going through and was struggles and problems do they have. Just because you are skinny doesn't make you a better person.

Have you had a similar experience?

Had a couple NSVs last week. I stayed at a hotel for a couple of days and for the first time in at least 15 years I went swimming in a public swimming pool! I've always liked swimming but I haven't gone for a long time because I was uncomfortable taking my shirt off in public.

The second is that my hotel room had bathrobes and last time I stayed there, their "one size fits all" bathrobe was way too small for me, this time it actually seemed too big!

That is awesome! I'm glad you are having fun.

  4. Just came back from a short holiday with my kids and woke up to a nice surprise this morning after retuning to my work place. I had to call my wife right away to share the good news. I'm officially below my goal weight of 70 kg with a "NORMAL" BMI. I was worried I was not going to hit the goal before the second surgery-versary in January 24 but I did it.

Playing on all the rides in Legoland theme park and chasing my kids on the beach must have helped me lose the last stubborn 1 kg 🤣.

Here is a before and after. Left was a few months before the surgery (pants size 52") and right was two days ago (pants size 29"). Look at those thighs! You never realize how huge you were until you compare the before and after photos.

  5. Hi. My brother is seriously considering to do the mini gastric bypass. He will be the third member in our family to do it. First it was my sister and me in Egypt and now it is his turn. He is currently working in Bangladesh and travelling to Egypt for the surgery is not a viable option for him.

Anyone over here who had their MGB or WLS in India? Any recommended surgeons or hospitals to consider? Anyone had their WLS at Dr. AMAR BARIATRIC & METABOLIC CENTER?

    Thanks in advance

Y'all I DID IT!!! 1 YEAR AND 8 MONTHS POST OP AND I HIT MY GOAL!! 🤩

Now, I know my little "signature" doesn't reflect that, but my REAL goal which my surgeon and myself agreed on was 225 lbs and I AM THERE!! I am also very satisfied here, especially if the skin was gone. My "new/documented" goal is 210 lbs just so I can officially say I lost OVER 50% of my starting body weight! I am so excited!!

NOW TIME FOR SKY DIVING!!!! As my personal reward, as soon as it gets warmer I JUMP!!!!

SOOOO much has changed, I don't even know where to start!

DO IT, DON'T WAIT- DO IT NOW! ZERO REGRETS!

Congrats! Sky diving is an awesome way to Celebrate. I need to lose one more kilo to reach my goal weight which seems to be taking forever haha.

Ha. I don't actually know which of these threads to post in, so sorry for cross posting! But here is the difference after a year. Still hoping to shift about 25 more lbs and gain back some muscle mass, and will probably look into surgery to remove some excess skin, but all in all pretty happy with my results!

Well done man! That is quite an achievement for one year

  8. Not weird but awesome NSV here.

I've always delayed getting a driving license until I lose weight. For some reason I convinced myself that I was too big (149 Kg before WLS) to be driving a car and that I won't be able to fit in the tiny cars used at the driving schools here in Malaysia. I saw a lot of people who were bigger than me driving around but I just couldn't get my head around it. My wife was the designated driver for quite sometime.

After losing a considerable amount of weight, I finally got the confidence to do it. I started my driving lessons in July and finally got my driving license last month. I even bought a new car that I've always liked for my 41st birthday. Life keeps getting better and better after WLS.

So happy for you! I took my son zip lining in Sri Lanka over the summer. He would never had done it himself and unfortunately my husband exceeded the 200 pound weight limit. Was so thankful i could go with my nine year old!

That is awesome! We are going zip lining next. Luckily all the rides had 80 kg limit except for one which was limited to 70 kg. I'm glad you both had fun. My wife was relieved she didn't have to go on all the rides with them anymore haha.

  10. We went for a short staycation over the weekend to Celebrate my 41st birthday. We spent most of time playing in the nearby theme parks and Water park and my kids wanted to try almost all the rides. Daddy was more than confident and happy to join the fun too. The fun we all had specially my son who very happy that daddy is riding with him made the WLS all worth it.

Here is daddy squeezed into a tiny police car and train ride with little princess.

We went shopping also and I got two shirts (as if I need more haha) in XS size which fit me like a glove. I'm still in disbelief. That was the best birthday ever.

  11. Mine certainly changed but for the better. We are now able to do many things that we couldn't do before. Finding and trying new fun activities, being able to join our kids while they play outdoors etc. has certainly brought us closer than ever.

My wife was inspired to make some changes as well and she is now more active, eating healthier and going to the gym a few times a week.

  12. The HR ladies have been chasing me to change my company profile photo for some time now. I finally managed to take some shots at home over the weekend with the help from my wife (semi professional / hobbyist photographer here) and I was quite happy to see the difference. Featuring my first suit after WLS (Size S, slim fit 😃) and the same tie. Left is the old photo taken in 2020.

The session was way shorter than before since I was not worried about finding the angle that doesn't make me look huge. The time it took me to edit these was also considerably shorter since I didn't have to photoshop certain parts "read a lot" of me that I didn't like. I can finally say I'm at peace with the way I look in photos!

  13. I find this more funny than weird. My iPhone thinks I'm a different person before and after the surgery it seems. Photos of me before and after the surgery were grouped separately 🤣 . I told my wife my iPhone is broken and I need to get the new iPhone 15 when it comes out lol.

Then again a lot of people that I've not seen for a while don't recognize me these days. The next time I see one of those negative people around, I will continue to pretend I'm a different person.
