  1. Quite today, I guess everybody is watching the election results.

JWRN, That would be great to be at 17 post op next week. It certainly changes how you feel getting on the scale. I used to dread it, but did it everyday. Makes no since. Now I am going to do it once a week and it should be going down. Maggies:shades_smile:

  2. I was denied the first time. My surgeon talked to the insurance company and found out that my sleep study was missing from the packet submitted

to the insurance company. It showed I have sleep apnea. So the surgeons office resubmitted it and I was approved. So, the best thing you can do is find out why they denied and if you think they are wrong, check and make sure your paperwork was complete. Good luck to you all.

  3. I have lost 8 1/4lbs. the first week. I would have liked to be in the double digits but any loss is good.

Sabrina, Sounds like you are real close to being at the right weight. I believe they go by the met life tables for weight. Have you done all the testing yet? Or has it already been turned into Tricare? Maggies:shades_smile:

  4. Good Morning Everybody, I lost 8 1/4lbs this week. I'm happy with that, but of course would have liked double digits.

Welcome Sunwyse, Sounds like you are finally over the pain of surgery. The gas was no fun, plus I had the diarrea also. I still hurt where the port is but that is about it. How much have you losed so far? Maggie:shades_smile:

  5. Bridgette, congratulations on the 17lbs. That is great. I decided I am weighing tomorrow. I'm sure I won't lose anywhere close to that. I'm feeling really good now also which is a big change from yesterday. I got on my treadmill today for the first time since surgery. I usually walk my dogs 2 miles a day but it has been raining for days. Congratulations again. Maggies:shades_smile:

  6. They lose so good on the Biggest Loser, and seem not to have any lose skin at the end of it. Which is something I know I will have to content with. Oh well, at my age I would rather be at a good weight and be healthy then be a bathing beauty. I feel so good today, like a human again. Hope it stays this way. Maggies:shades_smile:

  7. JWRN, your weight loss ticker says your down 45lbs. WOW, that is great, people have got to notice that. I may weigh myself tomorrow, since that will be one week since I last weighed. I didn't get weighed in on surgery day.

I just got done drinking 1/4 cup of chicken broth and I am so full, what a strange feeling.

Karina, Have you talked to Mrs. Frazier, she should be very helpful to you.

  8. Good Morning Everyone, You must be so proud of your daughter. You do not look old enough to have a daughter that age. I know my Kids and Grandsons bring me a lot of pride and joy. And of course my two dog kids also. Feeling even better this morning, which is great. I have my post op appt. this Thursday so I will be heading for Sacramento again. I will probably spend a couple days there. I still have not weighed myself. I keep thinking what if I get on the scales on Wednesday and I have gained weight. Surely that is not possible????? Have a good day. Maggies:shades_smile:

  9. JWRN, Oh my goodness, what did they do to you. You must have been in a lot of pain. And as for the other pictures you are so pretty and you look very young. I don't no where you see that you look old. And another thing you don't look like you need to lose that much weight. You must carry it very well. Who is in the picture with you? I will post some pictures in the next day or so. Maggies:shades_smile:

  10. By the time I go to bed tonite I should have had 60 grams of Protein for the day, which is much better than what I have been doing. I have felt pretty tired all day. But all in all the pain is much less. Just need to get this gas out of me. I have been walking a lot which should help with that. Does anyone watch The Biggest Loser? Maggies:shades_smile:

  11. I everyone, as you can see I was just banded this past Wednesday. I was also denied the first time. I have a bmi of 41 and need to lose over 100lbs. My surgeon, called the insurance company and turns out they did not have a copy of my sleep study which showed I have sleep apnea. So the surgeons office resubmitted the paperwork to ins. and I was appoved two weeks later. So keep trying, it is worth it. Although I'm still a little sore and gassy, I haven't regretted it. 12. tomatogirl, Congratulations on the 7lbs. That is a great weight loss in just a little over 4 days. My scale is calling me, I better go close the door to the room it is in so I can't hear it. Man, this is going to be so hard not to weigh until Wednesday. By Wednesday you will probably be over 10lbs. Keep up the good work. Maggie:shades_smile:

  13. JWRN, Looking forward to seeing the pictures. How are you feeling a month out. Does it still hurt around the port area, and how long did it take you to get rid of the gassy feeling. What kinds of foods are you eating? Congratulation on the great loss.

Tomatogirl, my incisions are itching also. OK, how much weight have you lost. I want to weigh myself so bad, but I promised myself I wouldn't do it until Wednesday. Hope I can wait.

  14. Tomatogirl, Yes, I have the same thing on my incisions, but I wasn't told to take them off at any time. They are starting to come loose on the ends of them. I finally went to my bed for the first time around 2am this morning because I was sick of my recliner. And it was great, I actually made it to my right side to sleep. How is everybodys else's sleeping going? Maggies:shades_smile:

  15. Hi All, I am now having pain in the port area that doesn't feel so good. Hopefully it won't last to long. But besides that every day gets a little better. You guys who had the first part of October are probably all the way feeling good. Yay for all of you. Maggies:shades_smile:
