1. I had the bypass 11/30. 3 weeks out I am only down 16lbs. I get your frustration! Following everything to the t. Getting in the right amount of Protein and fluids. Was hoping I’d feel all of this is worth it but haven’t yet. All I can say is stick to it and hopefully the progress will follow. That’s what I keep telling myself anyways!
It took me a while to get all the Water in. I measure the protein I'm supposed to have for the day. At this point I'm not sure of anything! I keep second guessing it all. My friends all had this surgery and lost 20 to 40 pounds the first month. Yes I'm older and can't walk that much with a bad hip. I'll just keep trying. I'm gonna write my nurse tomorrow. I just don't know what else to do. I need to start logging everything. I just don't have the time or mental energy with my mother needing all my time. Good luck to us!

2. Don't freak out. Seriously, it will be okay. If you look up "three week stall" on BariatricPal, you will find almost 20,000 posts about it. It happens a LOT. And it's nothing you're doing wrong—it is literally your body rebalancing itself (particularly fluids) after a traumatic surgery. It will break. Mine did—it came late and lasted about a week and a half and suddenly WHOOOOOSH went the scale. I had all the same worries and made a post here and everything.

It WILL break. You will continue to lose weight! And once you're fully on solid foods you'll feel the restriction.
I'm worried because I didn't log anything! Taking care of my hospice mother and my husband thought now was a good time for a puppy! I started second guessing myself. Did I eat to soon before the 14 days. Am I eating to much. I do know now my smoothies are to thick. I just found out that it is supposed to be as thin as mill. I hope I didn't cause this to be a wreck! I don't know how to look up other posts on baritricpal on This app . Thanks for thr kid words. I've been really upset. Thank you

3. My ex wife got the surgery and took less that 18 months to cheat. She was always a chubby girl growing up and now got all the attention like you mentioned. She couldn’t handle it and took the first guy aka creep that said she was pretty. He was 15 years older. Figured out her affair. Shift blame on me for making her do it. Didn’t take more than 3 months for her to get pregnant. During divorce she tried claim it was mine and show medical proof it was not! As she told me it was her plan to cheat and get me fixed. So our kids could only get my money. Narcissist she was and still is. She told me during divorce and trying to reconcile. If this guy don’t work. I got them lined out the door now. Now she dropped the affair partner after finally figured out he is worthless. She jumps guy to guy now. Very codependent person as she needs new guy lined up before going to next. Nothing but pictures on fb n other sites. I let my friends know now about 85% after surgery. A marriage breaker. Not worth it in my book. People can’t handle the extra attention and think grass is greener on other side. Guess what she is out at bars now and I have my kids thanksgiving and for her birthday. She don’t a care for her kids anymore and is is social worker! Definitely be mentally stable to handle that attention. It is a marriage killer
My guess is she is 35 to 40ish. With self esteem issues and raging hormones. It's not you at all! Some women can't help the mental hormones. It's really not always a lack of attention. I'm sorry your heart was broken. In time it will heal. You will move on and find a new love.

4. Did anyone cheat? Do you think about it? Its one of my fears... temptation I think will be worse also all the attention

It's natural to want attention after feeling deprived from others noticing you and now you feel young and alive. But that comes with great consequences. When your marriage was built on solid ground it will remain. Find God! Pray about your situation. We have all failed ourselves God and our mate at something. Talk to your husband. Make sure you are ready to give up everything for attention. Try to focus on your marriage more, get in women's groups, join a Bible based church. Get involved in helping at a food pantry. Good luck and God be with you! I'm just judging you, we have all been there. Just realize you can lose everything you love.

5. I had the gastric bypass on Oct 12. Ive lost 10lbs since then & havent lost anymore. I feel like I might be doing something wrong? I’ve read so much about people not meeting Protein goals due to feeling full/restriction, which I dont feel.
I’m currently able to eat 3-4oz meals & I feel like maybe its too much? Like I shouldnt be able to eat so much, so soon after surgery. I’m eating slowly, taking time between each bite & I wait the 30 mns after my meal to drink Water. However, I don’t feel any restriction and I don’t feel full(I dont feel hungry either, but I eat to reach my Protein goals). Should I be able to eat this much so soon out of surgery? Am I eating too much & that’s why I haven't lost any more weight? Is there something I should do differently?
*I was cleared to eat eggs, flaky fish, & tuna. & I eat every 3-4hrs, & once I meet my protein goal, I focus on my Water & don’t eat more. For reference

I'm the same! Almost 4 weeks out and only lost 10 pounds. It's almost depressing

6. What did your medical team say at your first check up? If they weren’t concerned by your slow loss you probably don’t need to worry too much. Remember they’ve seen it all & understand the vagaries of weight loss. We all lose at our own rate. If it is really worrying you, ensure you measure/weigh & record everything you eat & drink & have a chat with your dietician & medical team. Sometimes a small tweak can make a difference.
WildWill has a point. What I weigh at my doctors & what I weigh at home is never the same. I always weigh more at my doctors. Clothing, time of day, empty/full bladder, empty/full bowel, how much you’ve eaten or drunk, all affect the number on the scale. My doctors monitor my weight based on their records & I do it based on my own records. If they’re happy I’m happy. A loss is a loss. (Or maintaining is maintaining as in my situation now.)
All the best.

I understand your fear. I'm almot 4 weeks post op and I have only lost 8 pounds.

7. I had the sleeve done two weeks ago I'm currently eating soft foods like cottage cheese and tuna but after I eat till I'm full after about 15 minutes I'm completely hungry again stomach growling and everything I am so depressed I can't live like this I don't know why it's happening and it's not head hunger I would happy to never eat again I told my Dr she just said it will get better but I don't believe her I don't know what to do I can't spend the rest of my life having to eat every 20 minutes I wanna have a life

Don't panic! I'm post op 3 weeks and i have only lost 9 pounds! I'm eating 5 to 6 times a day getting 90% of my Protein in. And 90% of my Water. I'm on soft foods now and gained a pound! Im also hungry.. I panicked until I have read where other people are in the same boat. I'm up at 2am writing because I went in panic mode. Our bodies are all different and age, how long we carried the weight, medicines and if you didn't eat that much before surgery it may take longer. I got upset because I saw so many people saying that they lost 30 and 40 pounds in a month! 10 pounds is better then what i had been doing. You being hungry too is normal. Try to relax and keep drinking as much as you can. Try thr protein water. I'm sorry we are going through such hardship through this part of our journey. But it will get better. It has to! Keep strong
