You may want to get a pedometer lanyard to secure it additionally to your clothing. I have lost one fitbit and learned my lesson quickly. Also, make sure you take it off your clothing. I lost another fitbit in the wash. I love my fitbit!

Good luck to all today! May we all start a new journey healthy.

A binder is to help support the stomach and back muscles in recovery after surgery. I am getting fitted on 2/28 and will know more about what its uses are.

I have been scheduled for March 13th. This will be my 3rd surgery as I had the gastric band placed in August if 2008 and then removed in August of 2010. I am still as nervous as the first procedure. Has anyone else been fitted for a binder?

Has anyone seen Dr. Metz now that he has moved to Parker? I got paperwork from his office saying I could tranfer my care to him, but not quite sure what I am going to do. I really like Dawn with Dr. Brown's office, but Parker is closer to where I am. The woman who answer the phone for Dr. Metz office sure seemed alot nicer than what I am used to. I was just wondering if anyone had been to the new office. Hope everyone is doing well!

I have the same issues, I thought it was just me. It sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss.

HI! Everyone!!! I can not believe that 1 year has gone by so quickly. The last couple of months have been the hardest for me. Stress at work and at home have taken me out of my groove. So my goal was to be down to 145 and I am at 175 as of this morning. I am a bit bummed,so it time for me to get back in my groove. I was overfilled and then I got a whole cc taken out and it left me constantly starving. I am scheduled for another fill next week so here's hoping that I can get back to my sweet spot. I am still very happy to be down over 60+ pounds. Here is wishing everyone another successful year!~!!

It takes a few fills(depending on how agressive your doctor is) before you feel any restriction or the hunger starts to calm down. The beginning is really rough because it is easy to eat as much as you did prebanded. That was a huge struggle for me. Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey. There are many ups and downs, but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel unlike before. Keep positive!

For those of you who get tighter around/during TOM when do you start feeling the affects? I just got a fill of 1cc almost one week ago and have recently(this am & yesterday) been waking in the morning coughing. So I am wondering if my fill is too tight this time around or if this is related to my TOM being just around the corner in about 2 or 3 days. Just wondering if anyone keeps track of when you tighten up before TOM.

I have not had continous kidney stones, but I have had two bouts with the misserable lil monsters. I have begun taking Vitamin C as per the instructions of my Primary Care Provider. My PCP did also ask if I was taking in alot of Calcium, my stones were calcium. I was not taking in much more calcium then my prenatal Vitamin.
When I talked with my Surgeon about the kidney stones he indicated that kidney stones are not all that unusual after lapbanding, but didn't indicate that was the cause. I have upped my Water intake, especially when I workout and that seems to be helping. Keeping up with drinking water can be difficult somedays. I hope you can find some answers. Do you know what type of stones you have?

I didn't get a chance to post, but I did reach my goal -2pounds. I am down to 188 and goal was 190!!!

Where are you from? The cost of lapband in Colorado is around $9900 for self pay. Just a thought!
-
If you are anywhere near Colorado you can get banded for a little less than $10,000. I have insurance, so I didn't have to pay cash, but I could send you some links to places here in Colorado that are under the $10,000. My doctor is $9900 for self pay and I will say I am very pleased. Again, like others have said the aftercare is important, I am 6 months out and have had to travel 5x to see my Doctor. I am feeling that I am at my "Sweet Spot" now so I probably won't have to follow up again for a couple of months. Just let me know if you would like me to pass along those links.

Current weight: 208
Goal for challenge: 190
I didn't quite make my goal for Valentines so here is hoping the Easter Challenge goes better. I am a slow loser as well.

How are things going? I bet you are counting down the days. Just PM me if you have any questions.

How exciting for you!!! I was banded by Dr. Brown's partner Dr. Metz and my experience was similar everything went so fast. I live in the San Luis Valley which is about 4.5 hours south of Denver very near the New Mexico border so you are luck that you are fairly close to Dr. Brown's Office.
Keep me posted on how things go and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

My goal is 15 pounds. That would put me in onederland. I haven't been there for a while as well. Good luck to everyone with their Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals.

I have watched her story once before. Very heartbreaking.

I am feeling the same thing every time I eat as well. Did anyone talk to their Doctor about this? My headaches last for about an hour after eating as well. The "head freeze" headache describes it exactly. Did anyone have to get an unfil?

HI! I had surgery at CBSI on August 14, 2008 with Dr. Metz. I have been very happy with things there so far. If you have any questions just ask. Good luck to you beginning this journey.

I first ordered my fitbit before the first orders of the original fitbit were shipped out and since day 1 the customer service has been A+++++++. I would recommend buying a fitbit to anyone. I absolutely loved my fitbit and even love my fitbit ultra more, thanks to the awesome fitbit customer service.
