  1. I first ordered my fitbit before the first orders of the original fitbit were shipped out and since day 1 the customer service has been A+++++++. I would recommend buying a fitbit to anyone. I absolutely loved my fitbit and even love my fitbit ultra more, thanks to the awesome fitbit customer service.
  2. You may want to get a pedometer lanyard to secure it additionally to your clothing. I have lost one fitbit and learned my lesson quickly. Also, make sure you take it off your clothing. I lost another fitbit in the wash. I love my fitbit!
  3. Good luck to all today! May we all start a new journey healthy.
  4. A binder is to help support the stomach and back muscles in recovery after surgery. I am getting fitted on 2/28 and will know more about what its uses are.
  5. I have been scheduled for March 13th. This will be my 3rd surgery as I had the gastric band placed in August if 2008 and then removed in August of 2010. I am still as nervous as the first procedure. Has anyone else been fitted for a binder?
  6. Well my worst fears have been confirmed. I will be back to surgery on 8/10. My band has slipped and my stomach has prolapsed through the top of my band. The last two weeks have been horrible. I can't sleep and I can't eat. I am even more so nervous for this surgery than the first. My physician says I am rare only 5% of individuals have band slips. Well does that make me a higher risk for other complications? Please keep me in your prayers. Good luck to all, and here is hoping the 2nd time is the charm. I am going back in to surgery weighing 160. I should be exstatic that I am down 80 pounds since the beginning of my journey, but I can't help feel like a failure because of the slipped band. I know I need to be more careful this time around. That is if my band can be saved. I pray that it can be, as I would be lost without it!
  7. Has anyone seen Dr. Metz now that he has moved to Parker? I got paperwork from his office saying I could tranfer my care to him, but not quite sure what I am going to do. I really like Dawn with Dr. Brown's office, but Parker is closer to where I am. The woman who answer the phone for Dr. Metz office sure seemed alot nicer than what I am used to. I was just wondering if anyone had been to the new office. Hope everyone is doing well!
  8. I have the same issues, I thought it was just me. It sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss.
  9. I was just looking over old post and noticed that I posted last year around this time. Wow, what a difference a year can make. I have been at a plateau now for about 4 months. It probably has to do with my band being overfilled and then underfilled and now once again my band is giving me problems. I have had reflux for the last 3 weeks or so. After reading last year's post at least I am feeling better know that I have come a long way since then!! :crying: My overall message, no matter what obsticles we face we can overcome them if we give it time. I just hope I can make it throught this next week, while I wait to get an unfill and finally get a good nights sleep. This acid reflux is a real bummer, but at least I don't fell like the trick is on me!!!

  12. HI! Everyone!!! I can not believe that 1 year has gone by so quickly. The last couple of months have been the hardest for me. Stress at work and at home have taken me out of my groove. So my goal was to be down to 145 and I am at 175 as of this morning. I am a bit bummed,so it time for me to get back in my groove. I was overfilled and then I got a whole cc taken out and it left me constantly starving. I am scheduled for another fill next week so here's hoping that I can get back to my sweet spot. I am still very happy to be down over 60+ pounds. Here is wishing everyone another successful year!~!!
  13. Just received mine today. Can't wait to use it tomorrow morning for my Protein shake. It cost a total of 3.99 which included the shipping and handling. It looks like you can only get the green at that price, maybe I didn't read it right but anyhow I got the green bottle today. Thanks for the info.
  14. It takes a few fills(depending on how agressive your doctor is) before you feel any restriction or the hunger starts to calm down. The beginning is really rough because it is easy to eat as much as you did prebanded. That was a huge struggle for me. Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey. There are many ups and downs, but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel unlike before. Keep positive!
  15. Lots of great info. I hope this is what I need to break out of my rut. I hope this can hold me over till my next fill in 16 days. Thank you@!
  16. Well it has been some time since I posted to my blog. It probably has something to do with consistant loss of weight since then. Well I should say until recently. I guess I have alot to be happy about, but can't seem to be at this time. I guess gaining 4 pounds seems like alot at this point in time and it is impossible not to feel discouraged. I was filled to 7.6cc but had reflux and heartburn so I went back to the doctor and he took out a whole 1.0cc. I guess I should be thankful he didn't take the whole fill out:scared2:. Since then I have been so hungry it is driving me crazy, nothing seems to fill me up, or at least not before everything comes back up. I NEED HELP!!! My next fill is not for 16 more days, I am worried I will have gained 20 pounds by then if not more. I am trying to stay positive but it has been frustrating. I guess I should be focusing on the 70+ pounds I have lost, but I just can't seem to get past this hopeless feeling. I really had hoped to be down at least 10 more pounds than I am right now. I just need to refocus. Good luck to all on their journey. I am hoping this blog can help me put things into prospective.

  18. For those of you who get tighter around/during TOM when do you start feeling the affects? I just got a fill of 1cc almost one week ago and have recently(this am & yesterday) been waking in the morning coughing. So I am wondering if my fill is too tight this time around or if this is related to my TOM being just around the corner in about 2 or 3 days. Just wondering if anyone keeps track of when you tighten up before TOM.
  19. I have barely reached my goal for Memorial Day. I might have to rethink my other goals, but for now I am happy with reaching my goal set for Memorial Day. Hope everyone is doing well!
  20. Here are my goals: Memorial day- 7 pounds July 4th -15 pounds August 14th- 15 pounds If I can reach each of these goals I will have met my overall goal for the year... Good luck to everyone! It's time for me to get movin!!!
  21. I have not had continous kidney stones, but I have had two bouts with the misserable lil monsters. I have begun taking vitamin C as per the instructions of my Primary Care Provider. My PCP did also ask if I was taking in alot of calcium, my stones were calcium. I was not taking in much more calcium then my prenatal vitamin. When I talked with my Surgeon about the kidney stones he indicated that kidney stones are not all that unusual after lapbanding, but didn't indicate that was the cause. I have upped my water intake, especially when I workout and that seems to be helping. Keeping up with drinking water can be difficult somedays. I hope you can find some answers. Do you know what type of stones you have?
  22. I didn't get a chance to post, but I did reach my goal -2pounds. I am down to 188 and goal was 190!!!
  23. Where are you from? The cost of lapband in Colorado is around $9900 for self pay. Just a thought!
  24. If you are anywhere near Colorado you can get banded for a little less than $10,000. I have insurance, so I didn't have to pay cash, but I could send you some links to places here in Colorado that are under the $10,000. My doctor is $9900 for self pay and I will say I am very pleased. Again, like others have said the aftercare is important, I am 6 months out and have had to travel 5x to see my Doctor. I am feeling that I am at my "Sweet Spot" now so I probably won't have to follow up again for a couple of months. Just let me know if you would like me to pass along those links.
