  1. I would call your doctor. You could also be getting tight from throwing up, it could make you swell so the band is tight.

    errr frustrated

I am having the same trouble. You are exercising and your body needs fuel. You need to be eating closer to the 1000-1200 calorie range. It is hard to get it all in! Make sure you are getting three meals - I am working hard on that right now. I am typically a Breakfast skipper, so I am trying to get in some Protein in the morning, even if it is a shake. Hope this helps - I am right there with you!
  3. You could be fat because you are having sex with a democrat!
  4. My search engine gave me the Savannah River Site, pretty PG - think I will go with that!!
  5. Glad you came back tonight and are still interested in the band
  6. How long did it take you to come up with that one!

So glad to hear that Faith is home! You had quite the ordeal! I hope that she is feeling better and both of you can get some rest tonight!

Oatmeal is good for you, could not be the cookies! Carlene is hilarious! Crossing fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes, hoping that this surgeon works out for you! I would hope that they wouldn't have you redo the tests since you just had them done! That would be a waste of your time. Since you are self-pay I would think they would get you in the cycle pretty quickly. Say hi to our friend!

I saw this and could not believe what I was reading! Of course, I do teach high school so it is different. As a teacher I want the kids socializing at lunch (recess), it is their time to let off some steam and connect with their peers. If it were my kid, they would be in a different school so fast it would make your head spin. Everyone had good advice about meeting with PTA, taking issue to principal and then to school board and superintendent. I know I need to get my calories up, they do run rather low. I am sure that is part of the problem as to why I am stalling out. I just read the food threads and think, how do they only eat 1/4 cup and snack on celery and make it through the day - I would be starving! I just see so many people eating so little and losing I just feel like I eat way too much. It is definitely a head thing, got to get around it! Carlene - Yep! Fall is in the air! G4E~ So good to hear from you! Still sending thoughts and prayers of healing to you and your BIL. DD and I used to go to the hospital and sit in the lounge, waiting area to use the free high speed internet before we got high speed at home! Posted the link - you will love it!:frown: Hope all is well with you and you are having a great weekend! PJTP: Had to get up early for the Lava Bear Football scrimmage! It was a beautiful morning and the boys looked really good. DS had a blast and caught a couple of passes and made three big tackles! He is loving football! Scares me when he is out there, don't want him to get hurt! My students set up the spirit wear and we sold quite a few clothes, stickers, etc. It was a good morning and way to start off the school year for our student store. I am sitting here being lazy, but have a bunch to do! Have a great afternoon, BBL!

Out of shape, where do I start?

Good for you! Don't only think of it as helping you get healthy, but you will also be getting your pup healthy too!:frown:

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Carol~ Speaking from experience, you need to get back out there as soon as you can. It is so easy to get out of the habit. I had to take an injury break this spring; and 2 weeks lead to 4 and it was almost impossible to get going again. So take that brisk walk and get back in the habit!!! Keep an eye on the pain and make sure you take care of it and see someone if it gets worse! See that was your kick in the fanny to hit the road again! Let me know how it goes :frown:

Healthy foods that don't taste like cardboard!

I like the South Beach High Protein Meal Bars, they taste good and are easy to carry with you. I am not a tuna eater, but I have heard that the foil packs of tuna are good and you wouldn't have to have a can opener. I think they even come in flavors/seasoned. I always have some almonds in my purse, easy protein. I also will have some trail mix in a pinch. I carry around premeasured Protein powder in a baggie, that way if I am feeling like I need something in my stomach I can always get Water and add the protein, shake and go! You could boil eggs on the weekend, that is a good grab and go with high protein. This kind of goes along with Misty's idea of cooking on the weekend and portioning out servings that you can grab and eat! Hope this helps!
  14. Night Carlene - Hopefully we will see you again tomorrow on LBT!
  15. Carlene~ Yeah, you will have some scars. It could mess up your tattoo if it is on your stomach. The band does block food so the pouch gets full, but it does go through a small opening so you can eat some foods if you chew, chew, chew. Kind of like a cow!
  16. Be careful what you ask for!:frown:
  17. I don't think you would want to share the band with your brother. Ew, that could be kind of gross and very unsanitary! Not dump, like "take a dump", but dump like throw up, it is one of those terms you will learn on your weight loss journey. Yeah, you could take a journey to go to MX and see a doc, but you could also take a short journey and see someone in the SoCal. But the journey the awesome people on LBT are referring to is the one that you take once you have your band and start losing the weight. It is like becoming a new you! Hence a journey from fat and lazy, to fit and fabuolous!
  18. If your doc has skillz, he could be the last one standing!
  19. That was stated very well!
  20. The band goes around your stomach (on the inside) to make the pouch so you can't eat as much. So yeah, you would need surgery. You should look at all WLS options before making a decision. So like Pooly said, you might want to look into the RNY - that would help you get over the Reese's because you would dump when you ate sugar. I don't know much about that, I have the band, but it doesn't sound fun! If you were to get the band it is with you for awhile. You wouldn't want to get the band and have it removed one month later - that would be another surgery. So, again, you should look at all the WLS options before making a decision and having to have some sort of revision.
  21. There are all kinds of neat features and people on LBT! You just have to do some searching and you will be amazed at all of the resourceful people that are here to help and support you!:frown: Nobody on LBT is stupid :w00t: just ask away and you will learn quickly!

If you bring your scale I might just steal it and stand on it!:frown: The doctor did say he would probably make a referral to see a psychologist on my next visit. Thought it was good to talk through the issues with someone that has some insight and can maybe give me some tools to work through some of my head issues with food.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I think I am having some weird head issues. I did put the scale away, very hard, but I am going to be strong. The problem: I look at what other people eat and I think that I am pigging out. When I did see the doctor he said that I am not eating enough or not consistently eating three meals a day. I am feeling very frustrated, because I know that I am not eating a ton, at least not like pre-band, but I feel like I am. Some of you had a good point, that I need to be giving my body more fuel for the exercise that I do. I get that, but how do I wrap my brain around it. I know that everyone is not the same, but I see so many people that are eating 1/4 cup of food per meal and I can eat way more than that! I know that this is rambling, but I am frustrated and not sure how to state my challenge. I just needed to get it off my chest to someone, anyone that could understand. My family just looks at me blankly, as they have no clue what I am going through.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Ow! Glad to hear that you are on the mend and able to start biking again! I love daily plate. I use it for my tracking and I also love the fact that it tracks all of your exercise too. Your pre-crash weekly workouts are inspiring! Makes me want to get out and put in more miles in the pool and on my bike. I have been doing a lot of running lately and let the other two slide! Just might go for a bike ride tomorrow!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Suzanne~ Are you taking a day between runs or running every day? You might want to make sure you are getting at least one full day rest between. You might also try slowing down for one run and see if that helps too. If it keeps bothering you, you might want to see the doc and see if he has any suggestions. You definitely don't want to create a new injury! Good luck and keep us posted.
