    November Surgery Buddies!!!

It really IS painfully slow at our stage. So glad you're still heading downwards FMO. Everything crossed for an upper 240s weigh in for you with your surgeon x

    Little to no weightloss

OK - breathe. Weight loss isn't linear. Everyone - *EVERYONE* hits stalls regularly. They are part of the journey. It seems to me from what you've said OP that you have lost 18lbs in 11 weeks since your surgery. Which is already amazing. Why are you calling that rubbish? 6 weeks post MY op I had lost 15lbs. But that turned out to be a tiny proportion of what I went on to lose in the next 18 months. I also had almost 10 stone to lose. If you can focus on your long term goal it will be no time until you're there, or almost there. I wish you all the luck in the world. If you stick to the rules you've been given then you have every chance to achieve your goal weight. 😍

    Pre-Op Diet Hell

Day 2 is the worst. OK well maybe day 3. After that you'll be heading into ketosis and honestly it'll be a million times easier. It really really IS worth these horrendous few days to get out the other end, into surgery ,and then into your new life. Please post plenty here, we have all been through it and yes it's AWFUL!! Do no on any account stray from the plan. Shout and wail all you like xx Cannot wait to hear about your losses after your surgery 😍

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

And just another general catch-up post from me. 17 months post op, I have lost another 2lbs this month after a loooong stall when I thought I was done losing. Now 140lbs. If I lose 2 more I will have exactly halved my starting weight. What a thought!! Still eating around 1500 calories a day on average [1300-1400 on weekdays, 1800-1900 on weekends (alcohol!!)] 😁 All is good with me basically. I have started to run a leeeetle bit after many years of not being able to. It's my favourite kind of exercise - just am older than when I did it before and gonna be sensible if it doesn't work out for me (and my older hips!) Any other November 2021 people still around and, if so, can we hear how you're doing now?

Not a far cry at all - that's within touching distance. Best of luck, glad you've found the supplements that work for you xx

    1 year after Sleeve surgery...

Huge congrats OP. I have loved reading your posts. So fab to see this degree of loss to date and absolutely yes you may still lose more for sure! I've just checked and I lost another 15lbs after my surgery 1 year anniversary. Still losing a teeny tiny amount almost 18 months out - like a quarter pound a week or less, LOL! Keep the faith. You have done amazingly well x

    Weight loss slower than anticipated

3-4 pounds a week is an amazing loss by any yardstick. Thank you for sharing your story OP - your honesty will help loads of others. I think you'll be absolutely fine at this rate of loss and I wish you all the luck in the world.

    Roller Coasters After VSG

Oh no way would I have been fit for rollercoasters 6 weeks post surgery. But we are all different and recover differently! How do you feel now? Does it feel doable based on your current progress OP?

    Planning on getting the sleeve

I wish wish wish I had had my sleeve when I was your age OP. I spent my entire adult life either dieting or eating what I wanted and feeling guilty. I can't think you will ever regret it if you do your research and go into the op fully prepared. Best of luck x
  10. Totally the same experience as Catwoman7. I am approaching 18 months post sleeve and still losing a very tiny amount - way less than half a pound a week. Took me more than 5 months to lose half my excess weight. But we are all different. I wish you all the best with your loss. Stick to the plan and you'll get there xxx
  11. Oh I have loads. Face and neck most noticeable. Stomach and thighs and butt really wrinkly but almost nobody sees those! I am SO not into my appearance so I don't give a hoot. I know others find it hard to see and sort it with surgery. It is really sortable with surgery if you want/need to do that so honestly I wouldn't give it a second thought. What matters (to me anyway) is my completely new and different life. Best of luck OP 😍

    6 weeks in….

Wow - well done you! I love meeting milestones - halfway there is definitely a biggie. 😍

    Hello again

Oh wow - so good to hear your story Albus! Enjoy all of your cycles this spring/summer!

    Huge stall, binge eating

I hope you can find help OP. I think (know!) the surgical restriction helps a lot but we also need to address our underlying issues with food while we have that restriction in order to keep our weight off in the longer term. If you can connect with a bariatric therapist asap to check what you're doing that you shouldn't be that might be a good first step. I wish you ALL the luck xxx We're here to help if we can.

    Sleeve revision to MGB

I wish you all the best with your revision. If I ever had to do it I think I would go for MGB or duodenal switch. I'm sorry I don't have any wisdom to share re your future course but if you had time please could you share your regain experience? I think it's what we all dread - the slow creep and next thing we're back where we started. Anything you did/took for granted that you wish you hadn't??
  16. So great to hear your story OP. I wish you continued success and thanks for sharing!

    Hair Shedding & Hair Loss

I have had 3 cycles of really noticeable hair loss since my sleeve 16+ months ago. It's finally (I hope!) growing back. I suspect it won't be as thick as it once was but I am totally OK with that. By the time it's falling out the new hair is already growing. I have never seen any decent evidence that any supplement makes any difference. In the same way the people talk about 'breaking' a stall by twiddling with protein and fluids and exercise and goodness knows that else, I think that people might attribute the regrowth to whatever supplement they were taking at the time whereas really it was just gonna grow back anyway. Human nature.

    Worried I won't lose enough

I hope you will find that the sleeve is an extremely effective weight loss tool. I had my surgery at almost the same time as summerseeker and I have also lost well over 130lbs. Beyond my wildest dreams. I wish you all the luck in the world with your sleeve.

    No weightloss 1 month PO

17lbs in 4 weeks is absolutely awesome and not at all 'no weight loss 1 month PO' OP! As the others have said, a stall at this point is completely par for the course. Stick to your plan and you will lose loads more. Best of luck.

    Looking for Easy Protein Snacks

Honestly if you can stay away from ultra processed foods then do - forever! In emergencies we all need to grab the least bad option but for every day if you can get tubs full of proper home cooked from scratch food that you can eat throughout the day lined up, then I think that's preferable. At the minute I have in the fridge: leftover roast dinner from today (one cup servings) x 2, fish pie from yesterday x 1 and spag bol from the day before x 1. I do these up on a rolling basis depending on what I'm cooking for my family. I eat two leftover things late morning and early afternoon and then cook today's thing for dinner - that then makes me leftovers for the following days.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

So good to hear your update FMO! Totally agree we have to live a normal life. It's fine to take some planned time off our programmes. How has it been getting back on track afterwards? Was the break totally worth it?
  23. I'm sorry I don't really understand your concern OP. If I had lost enormous amounts of weight right after my sleeve then I would have been over the moon, LOL. When you say you think you're losing weight too fast - what do you mean? Too fast for what?? As the others have said - it's likely that some will be water weight and some will be attributable to the different scales you used. It's likely you will settle into a rate of loss that reflects your starting weight and how well you adhere to the rules of whatever surgery you had. If you could share your starting weight and your surgery type (or better still fill in all the stats you can on your profile here) then people here might be able to comment more specifically on your particular situation. There's a lot of expertise - really helped me! Best of luck.
