  2. I made chicken and vegetable soup with paprika and lentils and split peas, Boiled for a couple of hours until the liquid was thick and tasty. I strained the liquid for my own meals (frozen in little packages) and gave my husband the rest to eat which he loved!

  8. HI CAKES! I am a bandit from Tasmania and I have had my band for just 16 days and I have already lost 7 kgs. Its fabulous! I wish I had been 33 and had it done as I would have had a lot longer of my adult life to feel slim and healthy. Initial Anethestist visit $105 where $98 refundable Hospital Stay $200 excess that Medibank Private won't pay Surgeon $4300 can claim back about $300 Barium Meal XRay $209 most claimable medicare The anethestist hasnt sent bill yet but it will be claimable Only minor pain after op not so much from the incision but from gas. only lasted 3 days Absolutely no regrets I know its early days but I carry a postive attitude and have read so many people on here say its the best thing they ever did and wish they did it earlier! I have read these boards from a***hole to breakfast so if you have any questions I am more than likely to know the answers. I'll leave things to you to ask as I don't want to shove stuff down ya throat that ya mighn't be interested in. But sounds like you are ready to go to your GP and get referred to a Dr. Good Luck not that you will need it. Its not a horrible thing to happen to you. Cya Deb
  11. OH BOCHS! I'm with you!! After my entire adult life having to carry around this disgusting apron of skin and fat, I will be hanging for a tummy tuck as well also at the age of 54. Just to feel and look normal for some part of my life will make me feel FAN-BLOOMING-TASTIC! After a lifetime of being a good mum and hardworking wife and grandma its MY treat to myself! Deb
  12. I am also on 4 weeks of liquid then 2 months of mushies and I am only too happy to follow doctor's orders because I have invested great deal in this operation and I want the BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME. Hey its only a short time out of your life for the benefits in the long run.

  17. I told the people who see me regularly so they wont worry that I'm getting thin means I might have cancer but not the occasion visitors as I think it would be fun to get some real natural reactions when they see that you have gotten slimmer.
  18. I have become a comper and enter lots of competitions, either on the net or composing 25 words or less ditties. This has become very profitable for me also as I have won trips, appliances and lots of others odds and ends. What I can't use I donate to charity. It keeps me so busy that I just dont have time for thinking about food. In fact sometimes I forget to eat. So far this year I have earned $6000.
  19. You are lucky you have come to this site because by reading the posts you will learn so much. With more education I am sure you will come to understand how this tool works for us. Its such a shame that your doctor didn't play a part in that education process. Please believe after you fill it WILL get better.
