  1. WELCOME You must join our September Samaurai Group. We'd love to have you now you are here. We are a bunch that are gradually being banded. I was done on the 4th Sept so feel free to ask any questions and we will try to help out. Congratulations on your banding as you prepare for the most exciting journey of your life! Happy Healing.
  2. Great to know you are doing great, mine was 4th and I'm happy as well with progress. We Samaurai bandits gotta keep letting each other know how we are doing.
  3. MMM Bandy Andy has a certain ring to it! Mine is BeBe for Bluezbandits Band
  4. Step away from that cheeseburger and nobody will get hurt!
  5. Mine is not filled either. My doc said he won't fill till I stopped losing weight automatically from the band going in.
  6. You will come good once you can get some protein into you. I was banded 4 days before you and I took a couple of days to get it together regarding protein. Best wishes in your recovery!
  7. LOL Size 6 I'd be happy with size 16 right about now !!!
  8. Here in Australia we have powders that you mix with your soups and you can't taste them. Believe me if they altered the taste of the food I would hate it. Hopefully you can find something to suit your tastes. Good luck.
  9. shongra for your ticker go to Graphical Tickers and Trackers: Weight Loss, Trying To Conceive, Pregnancy... or Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal - MyFitnessPal.com and make one. They will give you a code which you copy and paste into your signature where it says edit signature. Hope that was helpful.
  10. Hi again it's me Bluez, Just while you people are complaining about your liquid diets, leave a thought for me. My doc has me on liquids for 4 weeks. I am not complaining as I figure its only 4 weeks and 8 weeks of mushies out of my life. I am setting my body up for success by doing the right thing. If on the rare occasions I feel hungry, I play a mind game with myself and imagine my hungry body eating by big fat butt. lol it works for me!
  11. Teacher here too and going back after 2 weeks. We will be fine unless we lift heavy things. I dont have to in my job so I figure you wont have to either. Good luck with your recovery.
  12. cthomas44420 hang in there! Your time will come and make sure you don't do too much to soon as we dont want you splitting the stitched around your band. Easy does it. Good luck for your up coming surgery.
  13. KIMBERLEY Its more likely telling you to STOP as you have had enough I guess is you have chewed properly and eaten slowly. Hope your port pain disappears soon.
  14. I was banded 4/sept and I agree with those who say its HEALING TIME and the intake of protein in vital. I use protein powders and also make a shake with milk and chocolate and protein powder and added 2 tbs smooth peanut butter whizzed up. Its delicious. Or you could make an egg flip by whizzing a raw egg into flavoured milk. Also baked beans whizzed up with some tomato soup is another way to get fibre and protein. Hope you feel well soon. I am feeling on top on the world but I am not exercising yet just gentle walking. Want to heal before I get stuck in. ps. IF YOUR DOC HAS YOU ON CLEAR LIQUIDS HOLD OFF ON MY SUGGESTIONS.
  15. Are you listed on our September Samauais list? I was done on the 4th September and we Samauais are on here to support each other. Do a search on here to find us if you want.
  16. It would be stitched down but until the adhersions form around the band the band is suseptible to slipping. I am hoping like mad that I dont get a cough as I dont want mine to slip either as I am still in liquid phase. (4weeks)
  17. Little Bit get used to the liquid diet cos you will be on it after banding. My liquid phase lasts 4 weeks.
  18. Just checking in, 1 week out of surgery and I am fine, got the diet thing worked out getting in enough calories and Protein a day to sustain myself ok. Through experimenting with the amount of protein I get I have got myself to a level where I don't feel hungry like I did a few days ago. To people who are having a hard time with this My friend Kate who has been banded for 10 and a half years says its the best thing she ever did for her health and says we all should be proud of ourselves for taking the big step to a better life even though sometimes it is difficult. Good wishes to up and coming Samuarais. Thinking of you all!
  19. Hi just checking in with my Aussie Bandsters. Three days out from Lapband surgery and I am still very sore. Have been on a liquid diet consisting of soup, apple juice, milk, and water. Its important to remain hydrated but when your stomach is so swollen its difficult to get too much water in. Have been suffering gas pains and copping it in the left shoulder. Luckily I was already aware that this would be the case or I would have thought I was having a heart attack. Yesterday I walked for about 30 minutes around Salamanca Markets in Hobart. Will try to do more today although I have to go into work and supervise my husband in moving the furniture so that the cleaners can come in and do the floors over the school holidays.
  20. Go for it and hopefully your recovery will be quick and easy for you.

  22. Thanks for sharing your story, sounds like the Mexican Dr was the right one. At least you got to talk to him. I had a 5 minute interview with him in Juneand that was all I saw of him. I was knocked out when he was putting my band in and he didn't even come see me afterwards before I left the hospital. He has a production-line approach where you feel you are being shafted through, just another faceless bander, all to pay for his big boys toys (eg,Hummer). However having said that I am pleased I got the band even though as yet I'm only 3 days post-op.

  24. Angel Whispers I guess my wind pains aren't as bad as what you had with Gustav. My surgery went well and I hope the same for yours. I would have been devastated having to wait even longer.
