  1. I am 48 years old, female I was diagnosed with this in June of this year. I have been wanting to lose weight but now I can't. My Symptoms are bloating, constipation, little nausea. I am 5'2 weigh 210. I am so miserable. I am on meds to help me go to bathroom sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Should I consider Gastric sleeve? Live In Tennessee

Speak to you PCP about this option.

  2. I’m almost 6 months out and have lost 60 pounds. I’m trying not to compare my situation to others, but I’m curious on how much some of you lost around the same timeframe. Also…my appetite is definitely increasing. I stick to about 4.5 ounces per meal, but feel like sometimes I can eat more. How much are you eating per meal? Thanks.
I'm 11 weeks post op. Have lost 37 lbs after VSG, but lost weight prior to surgery, so I'm down a total of 65lbs rn. :)
I aim for at least 800cal a day...to 1000cal. Also try to get in at least 80-100g of Protein daily as well.

  3. I had gastric bypass surgery December 6 2021. I regret doing the gastric bypass surgery. I haven't seen any significant weight loss since I did the surgery. I'am not losing anything I'm not happy. I feel like I wasted my time getting the gastric bypass. I'm eating healthy but nothing is changing I feel stuck.

I kinda felt the same when I had my VSG in October 2021. I had lost like 16 lbs and stayed that way for a while, eventhough I felt I was eating appropriately. Keep in mind that this a tool, so u still have to work hard to lose the weight. I've felt I've had to work extra hard, more than others. But u gotta keep going. I would say log everything u eat ans measure everything. It's possible you're not eating enough or eating too much. I found was eating only like 400-500cal. A day. U would think I'd be dropping weight like crazy but I wasn't. I pushed myself to eat at least 800-1000 calories daily and I've been losing weight a little more steadily. Also bring your concerns up to your nutritionist & surgeon.

  4. I got the sleeve in October 2017. I was down 135 lbs and it felt great. Last April started to gain some back. I wasn’t surprised since I wasn’t being as strict as I had been. Unfortunately, it has snowballed and I have gained back 35lbs. I feel like I have totally stretched my stomach out. I need more food to feel satisfied and my sweet tooth is out of control. Is it possible I stretched my stomach so much that I feel like I didn’t even have the surgery? How can I shrink it? Can I? Help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I would just say try to eat smaller portions. Make sure Protein is your priority in every meal. See if u can use a high 30g Protein Shake as one of your Snacks or meals, see if that helps u stay fuller longer. I think if u can eat smaller meals that are lower carb...eventually, hopefully your cravings for more food will subside. Gl!!

  5. My BMI is 47.3 but I don't have diabetes or other health problems does anyone know what I can do next to get approved ? If I don't get surgery and lose weight health problems could follow just don't understand why they wouldn't want to prevent them paying more money in long run . I am desperate ?? !!!

Well, if they're saying you need a comorbiditie, like diabetes, then unfortunately, that's what blood tests would have to show to be approved. That's what happened to me. I have Amerigroup, but I heard Molina is similar.. I was denied bc I didn't have that or debilitating joint issues (something to that effect)...I was pre diabetic when I submitted my paperwork. I retested and I found out I was in fact diabetic. I was approved quickly thereafter.

  6. Hi guys!! I am 8 days out and have had the shoulder pain from right after surgery slowly return. It became noticeably worse when I laid down, shooting up the left side of neck. How long did this last with you guys?
    Best,
    Sanju

Probably gas pains... even at 8 days post op, everyone is different, but I would tell your surgeon & see what they recommend. If it is worrisome, go get checked out. Better safe than sorry.

  7. Hi! I am going on 6 weeks post op and am only down 18 lbs. I feel like I am failing as well, I haven't lost for a full week. I can get all of my liquids down but am unsure of how many carbs I can consume with canned fruit and other easily consumed carbs like sugar free pudding. My company recently went on strike and my insurance has been cancelled so no dietician appointments for the near future. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything would be great! I am tolerating 1/4 cup meals of canned chicken and veggies...
1/4c at meals at 6weeks post op...I believe my nutritionist would tell u to get that to 1/2c and then to 3/4c. I think you might be consuming too few calories. I'm in the same boat. 6 weeks post op and A LOT of stalls already. Be careful with fruits. Still have lots of sugars.

  8. Hi all, I’m three months out from my sleeve. I lost 46 pounds and feel so grateful but now I’m stuck!!! I haven’t lost a pound in three weeks! Is this normal? Please tell me it’s not[emoji30]
Well I'm 6 weeks out and I hit a stall at 2, 4 & now my 6th week. Now, that's frustrating. I would look at your macros, Water intake and Vitamins. Calories as well. Might have to eat more calories, less or more Protein.

  9. I got the sleeve on Oct 20th and have lost 12 lbs since. I’m pretty down about it. Had my 4 week checkup expecting to hear not to worry, stalls are common. Instead, they were concerned I was eating too much: I was averaging 700-800 calories a day and they said most people at my stage are taking in appx 500. I’m trying very hard to cut back to lower calories and have quit weighing myself but beginning to think it’s not really going to work for me.
I'm your wls twin. I was avg. About 300-500 calories. My nutritionist and surgeon were not happy with how little my calories I was eating. Encouraged to eat a minimum of 600, up to 900 calories. They want me aiming for 90g of Protein daily and more frequent high protein meals. I have had like 3 stalls on my journey. It has be mentally tough on me. However, I will say that when I'm eating 1k calories...I feel better. I broke my stall. So, I'm not sure why they're wanting u to literally starve yourself. That's crazy to me.

  10. Had my surgery a few days ago. Am having a REALLY hard time consuming the liquids I need. I mostly have Water or watered down minute made zero juice. Since my surgery. I've only hit an average of 15 oz of water each day!

    Anyone else having this issue?

Tomorrow is my full liquid diet transition, since it'll be my 4th day post op, so, I'm hoping things will be better. I do have an issue with drinking my oz of water, but it being pretty uncomfortable for me. Feels like there's a little ball there that burns a little...kinda makes me scared to drink.

  11. So I only lost 20 pounds prior to being approved...then several days b4 the doing the preop diet. I dropped like 7 pounds. So, I'm thinking more Protein Powder in my drinks or a Protein Drink and a light gym session. Gonna start that tonight. Let u guys know the results in the next few days. (Also I do eat 1 meal. Usually airfried chicken with veggies or salad

  12. Just found this app. So, I guess I'm getting a little worried. I have lost about 2 pounds in 1 week on the liver shrinking diet. It seems ridiculous. I'm not drinking very many Protein Drinks, maybe that's the issue?...just mostly Water, low sodium broth and no sugar drinks, no carbonated drinks..or Decaf coffee with a proteinshake in it.. I'm just so annoyed. Really thought I'd be like 5 pounds down by now. :(

Anyone else having any of these issues?
