Thanks Sue, I'll be very careful. I have no intention of removing it just letting my esphogus take a rest.

:thumbdown:Has anyone had a lapband holiday? How did it work out? Do to some vomiting problems they took all the fill out of my band. The band was put in in July. I am not going to get any fill back for two weeks. Hope that solves the problem.

I also work at Rex and Dr. Enoch did my band July 11. I would recommend you go with him. I don't know much about Dr. Moran but I've never heard a bad word about Dr. Enoch.

Hi All,
Had my first fill yesterday. 2mls. They said my band can hold up to 10 ml. I don't feel much different today. I've lost fourteen pounds in four weeks and I'm happy!!!!!Wishing all you new banders good luck.

You are doing great. I hope I do nearly as well as you. Thanks for your inspiration

Hope you have a wonderful time at the outer banks. I live in N.C. and have never been there. My sisters come from N Y to vacation in the banks. Just don't eat too much, get some exercise in and relax and enjoy.

Dr. Enochs has a seminar you go to first, then you have a consult with him. He will let you know what he wants done. Usually lab work, upper GI, Ekg, Chest xray, nutrition and psych consult. He also can recommend the people you can go to. I don't think you'll be sorry if you choose him. Good luck

I also had Dr. Enochs do my surgery. He is the best. I haven't met a patient of his yet that didn't love him.

Hi,
I was banded on the 11th of July by Dr. Enochs. He is excellent. Not only does he have wonderful bedside manner but he is very experienced in bariatric surgery. I would definetely recommend him. I am a nurse and quite fussy about who operates on me. I've never heard a bad work about him. Good luck with whoever you choose. I know Dr. Moran by name but never met him or any of his pts.

Hi,
I can't be a mentor to you because I was just banded myself 7/11 but I could be a friend and maybe we could walk this path together. I also am a grannie. Skinny Grandma

I am in Apex N.C. and I was banded on July 11. Since I don't know anyone else with a band I could use a buddy to share experiences with. I too am a granny of three beautiful little girls.
Soon to be (I hope) Skinny Grandma

I think its time for the teen to go back home. It is not fair for anyone to dump there problem child on you or your elderly parents. There a camps and schools his mother should look into for problem children . I think you have your hands full with your Dad. I am raising a six yr old grandchild and taking care of my 85 yr old mother (who has memory problems)so I know where you are coming from. It's nice to be nice but not at the expense of your own children. May God Bless you. Good luck.

Hi,
Congratulations on your band. I was banded July 11 and lost 10 lbs in 12 days. Pain and gas are gone. But be careful with the pureed (mushy food) Had a bad episode last night after two bites. Pain was so bad I though I was having a heart attack. Finally vomited (very painful) and felt better. Put myself back on fulls for a day or two. Good luck

So glad to hear that. (Not that your in pain) but that someone else had the same problem. I proceeded to vomit which was very painful but then I felt a little better. The only thing I had after that was a cup of clear tea. Feel much better this morning but I'm being very careful. The pain was excrutiating and at one point I actually consided calling 911. I will eat more carefully from now on that's for sure.

Kacee,
I was sorry to hear you lost your MOM. I do have to tell you what an inspiration you are to those of us who are recently banded. I was banded on 7/ll and I hope I do nearly as well as you. Congratulations on your new house and new body.

I was banded last Friday and doing well Thanks to all for all the support and tips. I just love this site. Especially since I don't know anyone else personally who has a band. I am in Apex N.C. and Dr. Enochs was my surgeon.

I just got banded on July 11 at the age of 58. So far all is well. Little gas pains but I'm sure it will all be worth it. Hope you have smooth sailing and soon the surgery will just be a memory.

I was banded on friday July 12. I can't really complain except for the gas pains but they get better the more I walk . I love this site. It is great to be able to get info from people who have had it done. Still on Clear Liquids but I'm waiting patiently for full liquids.< /p>

It is just very hard to get an appt with him after the surgery. Easy to see his nurse Lisa but not him. Six to eight week wait and then long wait in office.
