  1. Hey bobbie! Just checkin on you girl! I now have 5 cc in my Realize band. I think I might have finally broken through my stall. Last week I was at 235 and today when I weighed I was at 230! I have better restriction and stay full most of the time for at least 3 to 4 hours. But I still think I could be a little tighter. I am giong to give it another couple of weeks though. So, I am at a total loss since surgery day of 18 pounds. I sure hope it continues! :o) How you doing? Hugs!!

  2. Hi Bobbie, I am doing okay. So far, I have had three fills; the last being under fluoro, I was a bit disappointed with that one, because my second fill, which was done blind was 0.5 cc. Then it was only 0.5 cc during the fluoro fill. So, I am currently up to 4 cc in my 9 cc band. Still not feeling restriction. I spent 7 weeks after surgery stuck at a 9 pound loss. I upped my cardio work outs to 45 minutes to an hour on the treadmill, going from 2.5 miles to 3 miles each time. So, I really believe this is ONLY why I am starting to lose weight. I am now down to 233.2. Surgery day I was 248.8. I have another appointment for another fill on October 5th, but am hoping sooner. I don't eat as much as I did preop, but I am still able to eat too much. I usually get hungry about 2 to 2.5 hours after I eat. So, hoping the next fill will bring me more restriction! Hey my email address is Pjones4052@yahoo.com. Anytime you need me. :)

  3. Hey Ms. Bobbie :o) I was wondering about how your fill went? I went yesterday, the 24th, and the doc put a 3 cc in. I asked him when I could come back for another and he said anytime. He told me that if by the end of this week, I felt I could easily polish off a whole burger to schedule another fill next week. He told me he wants me at the "green zone" as quick as possible. I was really relieved with that. I have been bouncing around 4 pounds since surgery! I started really working out a whole lot now though. So far for this week I am up to 90 minutes this week. I got on the scale this morning and am back down to 238. So, hopefully things will finally start to fall into place. I am on liquids for another 4 hours. I have to be on liquids for 36 hours, then progress to soft foods, then by Friday back on regular foods. I can tell a difference in the way it feels when something hits the stoma. It's not restriction, but it just feels like the opening is smaller. How are you?

  4. Hi Bobbie! :) Well, I think I am in the same boat as you. LOL I get my fill on August 24th and am soooo ready!! As of now, I weighed 248.8 day of surgery and now I fluctuate from 236 to 239. I am rather disappointed at the weight loss so far. It is just hard for me to get in my head that no more than we eat the weight just doesn't go anywhere. Of course, I will admit I have not been exercising like I should. I haven't been able to make it to the gym and am hoping to get a treadmill or an elliptical for home use so I can MAKE myself do it at least twice a day. I guess I should be thankful I am not gaining, but I really thought I would have at least 20 pounds gone by now. :*( Please tell me we will get this weight off. How are you doing?

  5. Hey Aivey!! How are you doing girl? We are 3 weeks postop can you believe it?

  6. HI! I am feeling wonderfully!! I just got off the scale and have lost almost 10 pounds since surgery day!! I had hoped it was more, but I think I sabataged myself for a couple of days postop, but I revamped my "schedule" of eating and lost some more. :o) I think my worst day after surgery was 2nd day postop when I had so much pressure in my stomach from gas pressing into my diaphragm, but I feel normal again! How about you? How are you doing?

  7. Hey Bobbie!! How are you doing? We are almost 2 weeks postop1! Can you believe it?!!

  8. Hi Kakki! I love your name by the way. :o) I, too, am really tired of the protein stuff. I was using the ATkins shakes, but almost 3 weeks of those things makes my throat close up. I bought some new protein powder at Target today and mixed it with 8 ounces of skim milk and put some splenda in it and ice and it tasted like ice cream. My little one even liked it. He's my taster LOL. Also, there are some really good sugar free syrups out there that are different flavors like peanut butter and mint and a lot of other flavors that are pretty good in the protein mixes. Let me know if you try any of those.

  9. You too, Bobbie045!! It's exciting, isn't it? I'll be thinking about you!! Big hugs!!

  10. Yes, they sure do try to scare you with all the things that could potentially happen. But, I figure if I don't do something about my weight then those risks of surgery and possible risks from the band are far less if I just do nothing. As of yesterday, I have lost 5 almost 6 pounds. Then, my hubby took my scales again LOL He said I could weigh tomorrow. I just hope I lose at least 10 pounds by then. I am soooo excited to see your progress and to hear how things go with your surgery!! This is such an exciting time for us! :o) Big, big hugs!!

  11. Yes, I went on June 23rd. I signed all my papers about risks, etc. I go on Monday for a vena cava filter (not required, optional) and will do the rest of the paperwork then. Then, I have to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. and then my surgery is scheduled at 8:15 a.m Wow, it's almost here, Bobbie!!! keep me posted on your preop appointment. :o)

  12. Wow!! 12 pounds!! That is FANTASTIC. My hubby let me weigh today LOL When I started on Saturday I was 256.8 and today, I was 253.0. So, almost 4 pounds. I hope to lose at least 10 more before surgery ,but don't know if I will make it. :o) I am following this diet to the T too! I can't imagine wearing "normal" clothes either. I am going to bring my video camera to the hospital with me on surgery day. Wow, we are almost there!!! :o)

  13. Hey Bobbie!

I'm going into day 4. So far so good, yes I have horrible hunger pangs from time to time, but I am actually handling it quite well! I have no idea how much weight I have lost my hubby hid my scales LOL I get to weigh on Wednesday though. :o) How are you doing?

  14. Almonds would be a good choice, if you can have it on your diet. I, myself, won/t be able to have things like that :o(

  15. Hi Bobbie! So far, I am going great! lol I haven't started my preop yet, Saturday is the big day for me!! It's going to be hard, getting around that popcorn, but I think what i will do if I go to the movies I will get a cup of ice or something LOL just to make me chew on something while the husband and son are chewing on their popcorn :o) Keep me posted on how you are doing. If you need to vent, I 'm here. :o)
