    September Surgery Buddies!!

Hey. I had my surgery in Sept too. My weight loss has slowed quite a bit and at one point it stalled. What I found is that even though I didn't think I was, I was eating more than I had been and drinking more. My body had finally gotten used to the new stomach and I think adjusted itself. So I went back to the basics.... Making sure I had the correct portion sizes, weighing my food/snacks, drinking zero calorie drinks,I also added in weight lifting. Everytime I hit what I think is going to turn into a stall I retrace my steps and also add just a little (and I mean a little) more activity/exercise into my routine. I also make sure that if I'm only going to eat a little it's protein. Also, I remind myself that I'm trying to maintain my muscle and build more while losing fat so if I've lost a lot of fat since surgery it makes sense that the further out I go, the less there is to loose and the longer maybe harder it will take. You will get out of your stalls I promise!

    September Surgery Buddies!!

Hey, Those days are very normal. I went through several myself. Your taste buds will change and adjust as time goes on. I'm a month out and some have gone back but some have stayed different. There were points when I questioned what I did and wished for my old stomach back. It does pass. It took me a good two weeks to feel like a human being again and three weeks to enter the world. Take your time, be good to yourself. Oh, and don't go off of anyone else's timeline. I made that mistake and ended up back in the hospital needing fluids for dehydration. Good luck! September Surgery Buddies!!

Hi All! I just joined this forum. My surgery was Sept. 2nd and man, it's been quite the month. Still not tolerating foods all that great. Or I should say, I am tolerating them but I get so damn full and a little queezy still after just a couple tablespoons that I wonder if I'll ever make it to the regular food stage. It's so hard to get everything that I need in during the day. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well.
