Creolelady got a reaction from Gastric sleeve Rad-Girl in Whats wrong with me?
Don't be discouraged! At first, I only lost a few pounds after my gastric surgery - literally about 5 during the first two weeks. Then I stalled for a week. THEN the pounds started really coming off.
I listened to a friend of mine who told me not to worry what the scale said - to look more at how my clothes were fitting. She even went as far to say that the scale would discourage me and then I may revert back to my old habits which would mean that all my pain would have been in vain. She was so right! I've gone from a 22 dress size to a 14 dress size! And I've lost a little more than 50 pounds at this point!
I'm on my way to the gym for the first time since my surgery! I feel great - good enough that everyone says I'm glowing! And while I haven't kept to my diet (because living in New Orleans, I NEED food THAT TASTES GOOD!!!) , I am still eating smaller portions and cutting back on sugar. I am losing about a pound and a half a week now.
I just want to encourage you and anyone else that needs it - to KEEP THE COURSE and KEEP THE FAITH!!! As hard as it is, STAY OFF THE SCALE FOR NOW! Weigh yourself in a month if you want, but for now, use your clothes as your guide! The looser they become, the more you will be encouraged! After all, that's really what matters - that you feel comfortable in your clothes!
The very best to you and all of us! Again, KEEP THE FAITH! YOU WILL WIN!!!! πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’›

Creolelady got a reaction from catwoman7 in Stalling
I had my Gastric Bypass surgery on October 6th. I was experiencing the three-week stall myself - just couldn't lose an ounce. Stepped on the scale this a.m. and I am down 2 lbs 4 oz! I knew about the stall and I just kept with the plan. It's now broken and I'm losing weight again!
If I can encourage you in any way, I hope you just stick with the plan. Leave the scale alone for a week or two. You will be happy when you see that you've broken the stall! πŸ˜€

So why have the surgery and not just see a nutritionist and personal trainer then follow their plan? What point does it serve to remove a portion of someone's stomach and then tell them to follow a very strict diet and exercise program to lose weight? If people don't have a problem with diet and exercise they don't need to take drastic measures like surgery.

You will be fine! I had a one-week fast and had several slip-ups also! My surgery was performed on October 6th and I am now 2 1/2 weeks out. Everything went very well! Just know that your journey is just beginning!
Please send an update once you are feeling well! The best to you! πŸ’œπŸŒΉ

I’m 1 year out and it was the best decision of my life. Give your body time to heal and adjust things will get better. Over time food will be more tolerable and you will feel better. Hang in there you already taken the leap now fly! πŸ¦…
