What do non-cooks eat in the 4th month?
SleeverSk replied to Amy Braun's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am hearing you !!! My friend said go on pintest which i did I got so inspired lots of yummies but sadly i haven't been motivated enough to cook any yet. But I do this for work I call it roast beef sushi 😁. Get some sliced deli meat my go to is roast beef, cut carrot, cucumber, capsicum and celery into sticks. Get some cream cheese ( light of course 😉) spread on the beef and then add something like mustard or whatever you prefer. Then get one of each of the veggie sticks put at one end of the beef and roll it up 😃 roast beef sushi !! At about 14 weeks I could eat 2 and a bit for lunch. But yes its hard I havent had lunch yet today and racking my brain what to have for dinner tonight. Do you have anyone to cook for? I wish i did or someone to cook for me 🤣🤣 -
You have offered great advice on many thread threads so I hope you dont think I was referring to you, but there have been quite a few people that have come off as being self righteous. in the original post he /she said they werent good at tracking what they are eating, yes doing that would be helpful but some people arent cut out that way. some commenters also worded it in such a way that if you didn't track there is no way you would succeed and you are a lesser person because of that. Which isn't helpful either.
-
wow, its just not in some peoples nature to track, journal or keep a diary and for those of you who this comes easily good for you but there is no need to be little those that don't. Maybe people should be looking at these surgical teams that approve the non trackers/ meal preppers/ planners and ask the question why were they approved if it is such a crucial part of the "journey". some of us encountered sleeve and leave surgeons with no support and it is bullshit. the OP is right some of you people need to get down off your high horses and stop looking down your noses at people who's road they travel on for this "journey" is different to yours

I hate that I had this surgery
SleeverSk replied to HisMrsWright's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i was the same, I am now nearly 5 months out and finally feeling so much better( I got that bad I was put in hospital on suicide watch) then sent 6 weeks on my sisters couch. It gets better I didnt believe it when people would tell me that but it doe. your hormones are most likely going haywire ATM too. given the choice again knowing what i know now would i do it again probably not but we cant turn back time but in saying that i would still be over 100kg instead of 77kg. I still have bad moments/days but it does get better. P.S. I too am wondering about the OP hope she is doing ok -
Anyone else struggling with panic post-op?
SleeverSk replied to Elaine77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still get niggling pains now and yes I still have a moment of panic about it, but never feel embarrassed about getting checked out. its better to get it checked and you be fine rather than not get checked and it be something. take notice when it happens too. I find when i am active i get random pain and i guess its because i did nothing but be curled up in a ball on my sisters couch for 8 weeks after surgery ( yes I was that bad ) that in healing i now may have scar tissue that now gets aggravated when i do any activity -
what are the foamies exactly, I have heard several different explanations

Anyone else struggling with panic post-op?
SleeverSk replied to Elaine77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, How far post op are you? your hormones will be going crazy if you are in very early stages. Its not something they seem to tell us but it certainly happened to me and many others. take a deep breath you will be fine. I developed anxiety in the early stages post op. take notice of when it happens mine started after i had eaten and then in turn that cause pre meal anxiety too turns out i was having a type of dumping minus the pain and need to rush to toilet. so I had rapid heart beat, shaking, tingling dizziness and just a feeling of dread. as my surgeon said once I started on solids it got better but boy oh boy it was not pleasant. I also didnt want to be alone and had lots and lots of tears and deep feelings of WTF have i done to myself. hang in there do what you need to do to feel safe. ((hugs)) it does get better -
wow.................

I am, but it not just weight loss i referred to its the psychological side of things which i feel is more important. Because if you are struggling mentally you in turn struggle physically too.
-
You are so right you even made me laugh 😂😂. Personally i dont think you are eating enough i was sleeved same date as you and i had an 8 week stall. Started eating more, the scales started moving but also take notice of the wat clothes are fitting i actually lost size but not weight at one point too
-
I love reading your responses, you give really good advise and ask great questions to help people out ❤❤

Unfortunately to many surgeries are done without proper screening and the patient who should never have been approved is and they struggle. I am one of them 😢
-
Its not like that for everyone, i am 17 weeks out and i am starving most of the time even after eating my stomache feels like its going to start eating itself
-
Wow that seems alot, I must still be under eating, any wonder i am tired all the time
-
You should be on more than 800 cals a day by now, maybe you arent eating enough or the wrong foods, i stalled for a good 8 weeks. I started eating a bit more and the scales started moving. Could also be your body rebuilding any muscle you might have lost in the early days after surgery. Eating to little will cause your body to hang on to every bit it can

What foods have you broken up with?
SleeverSk replied to Smanky's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes there have been a few things that one day it will be yummo then when i eat it again its yuck.sense of smell has also heightened for me. I use to love spicy foods now not so much. Frozen meals are a big turn off for me too which is a nuisance because i rely on them for work 🤔 and yes i have to really like something or i cant eat it -

SleeverSk replied to Smanky's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The one thing I miss the most is my morning cup of tea or coffee 😭😭 and having a cuppa and cake with a friend. The old come round for a cuppa doesnt happen anymore. The reason being I cant stand the way the warm liquid feels going down. It feels really weird to me and i dont like it but geez i miss having a hot cuppa. -

I eat bread and pasta, all in moderation i have on occasion toast for /with breakfast. A couple of frozen kids meals that were pasta no problems. I think as long as youbare not having big serves and not everyday you will be fine -
Im not a slow eater either and at 16 weeks surgery hasnt changed that but i try. I can drink a reasonable amount of water now and i rarely take my vitamins i think as long as i am are eating a varied diet its ok.all my bloods have come back good so far although I am experiencing hair loss at the moment so i am trying not to stress about that but thats normal so see how it goes.
-
I did too, liquids for 2 weeks, puree for 2 weeks, soft food 2 weeks, then a bit more solid food but had to make sure i had gravy or sauce with it for another 2 weeks then slowly add "normal" foods

lol you sound like you are doing a lot of what i did, my niece was eating chips in front of me and i made her give me one to lick too lol
