  1. I travel at least a week a month. Will typically buy yogurt and hard boiled eggs for breakfasts as well as a case of water to keep in my hotel room. I will typically go to a Whole Foods or Sprouts and grab something for lunch, shredded chicken, salad with chicken, or other protein option I can find. I do lots of business dinners and have had great success just talking to the waiter/waitress about what I can eat and find most very accommodating. You just have to get comfortable with speaking up.
  2. Have you tried avoiding protein shakes all together? My surgeon doesn’t allow them. They want their patients getting protein from real food. I thought that was odd when I first heard about but after doing this for three months, it totally makes sense now.
  3. Couldn’t agree more with all the advice above. The goal is a future healthy life style. The first weeks weight loss is not a predictor of that. It’s hard in the first month or so to see the light, but if you work the process you’re going to succeed. We all seem to use the scale to measure success so I get it. I did the same thing and did experience the three week post op stall. I too was frustrated and concerned, but I held steady, it passed and I continued to see success. I’m three months out and have surpassed my original expectations.

    Return to work?

I had surgery on Monday and returned to work on Thursday. I do have a desk job and did work from home on Thursday and Friday of that first week. Truth be told, although I did get some things accomplished, I didn't feel great and wished I had just taken the full week off. Week two was fine for me, once I got off the liquid diet.
