    2 questions

I really hope someone answers this question soon too. I was banded on 11/19/08 and have only lost 25 pounds. Maybe I was expecting too much too soon. I have only had one fill at 2cc in a 9 cc band. I am watching what I eat and I do exercise daily. So I know how you are feeling!!

Have you heard of the MidBand?

Hi, I just googled the midband. To me it looks a lot like the realize band. What's the difference?

    Come On SC!

Hey lexmed! I was banded on 11/19/08 by Dr. Givens at Riverside. I have been drinking ready made Isopure. It is more like a flavored drink instead of a shake. Isopure has 40 grams of protien and comes in a glass bottle in a variaty of flavors. I have been getting them at the Vitiman Shop on Harbison Blvd for about $42.00 a case. Hope this helps. (my favorite is Alpine Punch... taste like fruit punch)

    Be Honest, ARE YOU HAPPIER??

Wow! Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I too was banded by Dr. Givens two weeks ago. So far I have lost 12 pounds! I think you need to email Emily, the nutritionist, and talk to her about what is going on. I have had lots of questions so far and everyone in the office has been very friendly and helpful. I would hate to see you give up after having come so far on the journey for weight loss.
  5. I was wondering how does the doctor decide which band to give you, the 4cc or the 10cc. I was told it goes by your hieght. Is this true?
  6. I will be getting the realize band on nov.19th. My dr does both so I had a choice.

    Bandsters Nov 17-21

Hey everyone! I am being banded on Nov. 19 in SC by Dr, Givens. I have been on my pre-op diet for a week now. I have 2 protien drinks one protien bar and a "sensible" meal for dinner. So far so good! A little about myself... I am married (14 years) with two children (boy12 and girl7). I am really excited about being banded and I can't wait to see how we all do! Good Luck everyone!!!:rolleyes2:
  8. Hi everyone. I am being banded on Nov. 19th in SC by Dr. James Givens:thumbup:. I am so excited. I go tomorrow for pre-op at the hospital. Good Luck To all the November bandsters! :smile2:
  9. Don't give up. My BMI is barely over 35 too and I am being banded on Nov.19th. My dr. told me that if I did not take care of my weight problem now it would only get worse over the next few years. He also said he thought that the lap band was a smart choice for me. If you really know this is right for you and your health you can make it happen. Hopefully, the next dr. you see will be the one for you. Good Luck!
  10. Hey! I am being banded on the 19th! This is really great. I can't wait to see how we all do! Good luck!
  11. I will be getting banded on Nov. 19th (so excited!!!:w00t:). I was wondering why we don't get filled all at once. Bypass patients are not given a choice of the size of their pouch, it's all or nothing. Don't get me wrong I'm glad to have the choice to find the right size pouch for me but, I was just wondering?

Fill... why not all at once?

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Emilie I never thought of youridea about filling it up and then slowly letting it out. That sounds like a cool idea too. :w00t:

    Life of LapBand?

I will be banded on Nov. 19! and I have a question. How long does the band last. I have heard lots of different things...anything from 3 years to ten and beyond. What is the longest some of you have been banded and does the band continue to be effective for the entire time. I asked my dr. these same questions and he gave me great answers but I wanted to hear from real people who know from personal experience. Thanks you all!
  15. Hi everyone this is my first post. I have been reading and celebrating everyones success stories for some time now. I have finally decided to take the big step and hopefully have a success story of my own soon. I will be banded on Nov. 19. in Columbia, SC. I am scared and excited all at the same time. I know that I have made the right choice! I am sure that I will have lots of questions as my surgery date gets closer. I just wanted to say "hello" and share my good news with everyone.
