    Doubting Whether I Should Proceed

I was worried about that also (limitation on foods and experience as your food pusher has warned you), but the reality is that you have no limitations on the types of food you’ll be able to taste and eat once you have healed from your procedure and have maximized your weight loss - though you don’t have to wait for the maximization to sample some yummy foods, if that is your choice (once you’ve healed). The real life frustrations I do experience involve limiting meals out - especially hard when husband is athlete and bodybuilder and wants to eat all the time. I have recently had to ask him to stop talking about food. I’m not in any mood to have someone talk about endless options of food that I won’t be entertaining. He asked for pizza and French fries while we were out the other night running errands and I refused to drive to either place. I also try to be outside as often as possible bc when I’m in the house food seems to want to call my name and I’m avoiding it. My will has strengthened since surgery and I can imagine that might be something to fear for a food pusher.

    Doubting Whether I Should Proceed

That preop diet concept has come in handy for dealing with stalls. Keep that in your toolbox as an example of what you’re capable of down the road, after surgery. As everyone else has said, that kind of weight loss without this tool of wls is not exactly sustainable. I have been on full liquid diet since last Sunday and dropped 7lbs out of my stall, so far. People like to insert their opinions on what you should or shouldn’t do and what is or isn’t the best way to manage your success, but ultimately, it’s up to you. Good luck!

    Question on hair loss

My experience has been increased shedding is the hair loss. It’s not falling out in clumps or anything like that.

    Anyone stopped losing?

I had experienced a long stall this month (July), for the first time. I had lost 5 lbs in the first week or so of July but then the scale didn't budge for 3 weeks until today. I have been on only liquids since Monday and it seems the stall has passed me. I am down 3 lbs this morning and will continue with the liquid until Friday. When I resume eating, I will not be adding the processed protein (Quest bars, shrewd food puffs), simple refined carbs (pretzels), or any of the junk food (french fries, samosa, etc.) that I had allowed to enter back into my life. Game on.

Newbie looking for Gym Buddy San Antonio, TX area

Hi Letty! Did you find anyone? I'm not in San Antonio but I lived there for 4 years and miss it! I used to go to the Gold's Gym at Legacy Trails. San Antonio has an amazing selection of gyms. I hope you found one that you like!
  10. I'm in the Toledo area. I workout at Esporta and sometimes Planet Fitness if Esporta is closed. Not looking for a workout partner but I could give you some pointers if you're interested.

    March 2022 Surgery Buddies

Hi! Thanks for the check-in. I'm doing great, too, Starting weight was 277 and current weight is 205. I have been this 205 number (give or take) for a couple weeks now but I feel great. I'm a rock star in the gym and I'm really seeing my body whip into a nice shape. I am struggling with water, too, and my hunger has come back more than it had been previously. I am getting about 64 oz of water most days but I know it should still be more than that. My hair has been falling out, so there's that. It sucks but thankfully I had a lot to start. When I work out hard the scale doesn't move but I know my body composition is changing and that means my clothes fit and look great on my body. I had been 160lbs and extremely fit in 2019 - so this is a snap back for me. I have had no issues - smooth sailing so far! Cheers
  12. I take high dose medical mj edibles. Had zero issues with anesthesia or anything leading up to, during, or since surgery. My only suggestion would be to switch to an edible vs inhalant. There are plenty of strong personalities on here that will defend vaping as if they had stock in the concept - so this isn’t an invite for any of their nonsense today. Just my suggestion. Good luck and enjoy life!
  13. Oh, that’s definitely true. But maybe the absorption helps shorten the nausea?

    Vaginal Dryness

My advice would be to drink more water and start working out. Sex drive and all the juices in high gear after a leg/body workout.

  21. What is Micheladas? NM, I googled it!
  22. Yes, I lost 180lbs with diet and exercise that I maintained since 2004 - until 2020. I have had a tummy tuck. I do not have excess skin like majority of people on this site (likely) as a result of my previous success and subsequent procedures.
  23. Hi, I'm 5'11 (close to 6') MY team gave me a weight that is not accurate. Even one of the providers said that her previous patient was given the exact same number as goal weight (214). When I plugged in my info into the same tracker she should have been using, it said like 190lbs. I have previously weighed and maintained 160lbs for 10 years - and for me, that is my goal weight. I like 160lbs.

    Protein HELP

Quest chips = 19-20g Protein per bag (140 cal), Clear Premier Protein fruit punch = 20g protein (90 cal), Unjury pre-made Protein Shakes = 20g protein (110 cal). You just have to make sure you’re spacing out your protein enough so your body can actually absorb it all. I try to make sure I have a variety on hand with me - at least 3 per day. I need the variety so as to not get bored with it. Any other protein consumed is just a bonus. A serving of Fage 0% has 18g protein. I have to be intentional with my protein in order to get it in - we all do.
