    Uber Hungry

Hi, I've started weight training (I'm not doing cardio other than normal daily activities). I find that my hunger in the evenings after working out is more than on nights I don't workout but not too much so. I have been drinking a protein shake on my way home from the gym or right when I get home. I then try to eat something light but filling - like veggies or a salad or even a cup or 2 of jello. The real secret is that I keep drinking my crystal light over ice until I go to bed as a way to keep my tummy full but my calories now. I'm also taking rest days about every other day or so - a few times I worked out multiple days in a row and I have found that just wipes me out.

    Weight loss stall

Hi Robert! Sounds to me like your should have lost more than 20lbs by now. Are you tracking your intake using an app or anything like that? What kinds of foods are you eating these days?

Trying to eat more veggies- 3 months post op

I am about 8 weeks out and have been eating salads (chopped small) for a couple weeks now. I have only had one incident where I threw up after eating salad (and that was gross) but otherwise no issues. It's really the only food I am eating as I'm still taking in protein via drinks. Salads (lettuce, onion, cucumber, bell pepper, chickpeas, bulgur wheat, tomato, etc.), quest chips, jello cups, and protein drinks are that which sustain me as of late. Also worth noting: I buy the red or green head lettuce, it is softer than romaine or iceberg lettuce. Also, I dilute the sesame dressing with vinegar to make it stretch and reduce the calories.

How long are you missing work?

I took 2 weeks off, I would have been able to come back after 1 week.

    Pain after surgery

Use the incentive spirometer as often as possible and walk! Also, simethicone helped.

    I’m just going to ask!

We made it to the almost 2 week mark
  7. My husband just keeps wanting blowjobs. I want sex more often. So ivibe. Everyone’s happy
  8. This makes perfect sense to me. My husband knew me thin and so we’re both just excited for my confidence to come back and I can wear cute sexy clothes again. I could see the chubby chaser feeling insecure after partner starts getting and acting healthy.

Hi! Just checking in... have you lost any more weight since this vicious stall hit you?

    Kept it Quiet?

The support of 1 or 2 people is enough ... and you have all of us! This is a really great thread. I just wanted to add that for the people I have confided in, aside from my husband, I don't want to talk about it with anyone. I am not open for updates. I don't want to be asked how much weight I have lost. I do not want any attention on the matter what so ever and will remind them (with an effort to be polite) that this isn't an open topic for conversation unless I broach the topic.

    Tricare Select

Can you go to the VA or are you a dependant? Mine was done at the VA and they were wonderful.
  13. I agree completely. I just sent this article to my mom - who is notorious for telling everyone they look great based on their weight. https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/20/health/weight-loss-compliment-harm-wellness/index.html
  14. Just say thank you and tell them about the food you have been eating. I think that's still towing the line on the truth while just omitting information. I also don't like people commenting on me for the same reasons. I feel like a fraud or trickster. If anyone says you look great, I plan to just say that I got back to my clean eating plan. Don't feel obligated to elaborate.

Alcohol 3 weeks post sleeve op.

I like being referred to as professor. I see your argument. Well made and valid. I prefer not to chance it because I have smoked in the past. Both vaping and smoking irritate my lungs and cause me physical distress (coughing) that otherwise doesn’t occur during periods of abstinence. It is my hypothesis that it affects different people in different ways and that the medical community as a whole will see the tertiary effects more accurately once they’re better to establish control groups of people who have only ever vaped. These young people and their health will be the lens through which we see if vaping is truly as innocent as you suggest.  In some amount of time. Maybe not yet 20. It’s about air and the exposure of a thick sticky substance building up on there. Have you ever gotten it on your hand? Was it easy to wash off? I don’t know the answers to that. Maybe it seems like a natural product. I can’t imagine.

Literally, that is not what that means. Vaping is still fairly new. Give it 20+ years, then respond factually.

No evidence does NOT mean that it is not harmful! What a joke.

hey listen, I'm not the researcher here. I'm only relaying my experience. Partake at your own risk. ...better yet, report back in 20 years after you have adequate scientific knowledge on the harmful effects of vaping. One thing is for certain, there is no health benefit for it whatsoever.

https://www.addictioncenter.com/drugs/marijuana/smoking-marijuana/ Not sure if this is a funny question or not, but as you can see from the article there are several areas of health that smoking can effect. Personally, I don't enjoy coughing, upper respiratory infections, shortness of breath in any form, etc.

Consuming 5-10 calories and a couple grams of sugar (to me) far outweighs the tertiary effects of inhaling any chemical substance into your lungs. All of my surgeons and doctors support an edible but do not support or condone smoking of any kind. If you're okay with that risk, then by all means, toke away!
  23. Well, while I haven't ever been diagnosed with PCOS, I am experiencing infertility. I was pregnant once, for 25 weeks and then my babe experienced fetal demise and passed. We got pregnant naturally but not since 2020. I just had RNY on March 8th and I'm hoping we see a positive test in our future, again. Infertility is frustrating and painful. just hang in there. I had the surgery for fertility reasons, too. Hoping this provides my body room for my eggs to release freely and to safely bear another child. Congrats on taking control of your life and your circumstances. I'll be following you and your story ... maybe we both will get our rainbows! edit: Not sure if you have it or have heard of it, but I use an app called Glow to track my cycles. There is a community section on there (similar to this) where you can search for weight loss surgery, vsg, gastric bypass, etc. and read the stories and experiences of people on there. You can, of course, post as well. It's a little more focused on the PCOS and fertility angle than just general weight loss. Food for thought.

Looking for some opinions on this...

No one can really answer your question; however, based on my personal experience I would get the tummy tuck with the procedure and not worry much about lipo. The rubber meets the road with the muscle repair. I had a circumferential body lift ( essentially a panniculectomy) in 2010 after losing 180lbs with just diet and exercise. In 2015, I had an actual tummy tuck with muscle repair. Of course, I was thrilled with the first operation as it did allow me to wear clothes that flatter and at 27, put me in a physical class with my peers (especially as I was active duty Air Force at the time). In 2015, I was provided an opportunity by the Air Force where they paid for my muscle repair and tidied up the first procedure. I was still misshapen until the latter. I had lipo with the first procedure as well, and did not ever see any real results from that. For me, I think I would consider lipo in the future if I were wanting to move fat from one area to another (like my rump). Just my thoughts and experience. As everyone else is saying, do your research and make the best decision that works for you.
