  1. Hi, I'm 5'11 (close to 6') MY team gave me a weight that is not accurate. Even one of the providers said that her previous patient was given the exact same number as goal weight (214). When I plugged in my info into the same tracker she should have been using, it said like 190lbs. I have previously weighed and maintained 160lbs for 10 years - and for me, that is my goal weight. I like 160lbs.

    Protein HELP

Quest chips = 19-20g Protein per bag (140 cal), Clear Premier Protein fruit punch = 20g protein (90 cal), Unjury pre-made Protein Shakes = 20g protein (110 cal). You just have to make sure you’re spacing out your protein enough so your body can actually absorb it all. I try to make sure I have a variety on hand with me - at least 3 per day. I need the variety so as to not get bored with it. Any other protein consumed is just a bonus. A serving of Fage 0% has 18g protein. I have to be intentional with my protein in order to get it in - we all do.

Getting ready to have this surgery

I have been averaging about 15lbs/month since surgery 12 weeks ago. Today for example, I restricted myself to only getting my protein bc I have been enjoying some various foods that I hadn’t been previously (small slice of veggie pizza, few French fries, bite of a sandwich, etc.). Yesterday I did a strong leg workout, too. Today I woke up and the scale was up .4 lbs and just said okay. Get to work. Have had 2 protein shakes and a packet of quest protein chips today. Met my goal. I’m not hungry - just drinking water, getting my vitamins / calcium - will maybe have a small salad or some fresh sweet peppers a little later. Fiber is always nice. This is mostly in response to you saying you skip meals. Just make sure you’re hitting your goals. This is a dreamy procedure when you stick to the plan!

    Regrets ?

Not even one. This feels so natural and it’s working so nicely. Zero regrets here!

    First fast food since surgery

I'd just like to say that I love our heights on this post! Tall women ❤️

    Alcohol

Years ago, pre-wls, long long time ago, I used to experience something similar with red colored alcoholic drinks. I have no idea what caused it or why but it wasn't fun. I'd be achy and sore almost like a fever or flu - but then it would pass.

    First fast food since surgery

I'm obsessed with the egg white and roasted red pepper bites from Starbucks as my fast food fix. My husband is in love with the Spinach and Feta wrap they have there. I really wish other fast food places would get on board with making a meal with eggs as the protein vs. chicken or beef. Last night, I went to a Mexican joint with my husband and I am happy to report that the scale still went down this morning. I only ate a total of about 10 chips, some guac, salsa, and 3 nachos (marinated chicken with cheese on top of 3 tortilla chips). I was satisfied and not overstuffed. I'm really enjoying this process! And as busy people, fast food is sometimes inevitable - it's nice that there ARE options!

    Dreaded hair loss - question

Yes, hi! Mix apple cider vinegar and Water (3:1) in a spray bottle and spray directly to scalp before washing - each time. It has done wonders for my itchy, irritated scalp. Good luck!

    Dreaded hair loss - question

Hi!! Yes, I spray apple cider vinegar (3 parts cider : 1 part water) on my scalp right before washing - each time. It has made a world of difference. Please try it and let me know if it worked. I think it is the answer for all my scalp issues - hope it is for you, as well!

    Unflavored Protein Powder

These options are probably cheaper than the Procel... Maybe try these first - or at least do a price break down before you order.

    Unflavored Protein Powder

My instructions were to put 5 scoops (they're small) into like 8oz almond milk or whatever.

    Unflavored Protein Powder

Procel was prescribed for my peo-op diet by my medical team. Tastes like cheerio milk.
  13. My recovery was a blur. I can't tell you how many times I have thought and even said "it doesn't even feel like I had anything done". This, of course, applies after the gas pain passes, you're out of the hospital, etc. I am relatively young (38) and I was extremely healthy and fit prior to these past 3 years where I gained 100lbs. I have had zero issues. Weight is coming off nicely and I'm excited to see how I fare over the summer. I have no experience with any other WLS but this one I am extremely happy with - oh, and no heartburn!! Huge win as I was taking 2 Pepcid AC daily prior to RNY.
  14. I bought the Arboleaf on like March 25 or something like that and I just had to buy new (AAA) batteries for it this morning. My follow-up advice would be to find a smart scale that takes the ion/watch batteries bc they seem to last longer. I have had my other digital scale (Weight Watchers brand) for about 5 years and I've yet to replace the battery. More food for thought!
  15. I just want to echo this post! I went with the bypass the first time for the same reasons. Also, I had researched the number one regret/complaint about the sleeve (or something like that - before finding this forum) and the [loud] answer seemed to be that they wished they had just gone with the bypass. I also had heartburn pretty bad (which fortified consensus with my doctor). I didn't want to have to wish I had had the big dog (RNY) so I just waited a few more months and had the bypass when a slot opened up.
  16. You'll be fine. Just get back on track and don't venture to the other side again. You can do this!

    Vaping pre op

I used the generic patch to stop smoking 17 years ago. I had been losing weight (diet and exercise) at the time - I lost 180lbs. while simultaneously quitting smoking. I couldn’t breathe to work out like I was at the time. You can do it!! Good luck!

    Movie Snacks

I really love the Quest chips. They’re snacky and 20g protein. I also like the premiere protein clear protein, another snack to throw in your bag. If you like Starbucks - their egg white and red pepper egg bites are so yummy. I also like these dried apple slices. There are many options for snacking at the movies - just make sure it’s protein focused as everyone has been suggesting. Seaweed packs are another great, 100 cal snack.
  19. I have an arboleaf scale. I like the tracking feature on it - I can select different days to see how much weight I’ve lost since any time I started using it. For example, I don’t need to know how much weight I’ve lost since the start, I want to know how much I have lost since May 1.

    Starting ADHD meds

Hi! Good luck with this journey! I have ADHD (diagnosed by a provider) and have actually been off any meds for a couple years now just simply due to pregnancy and a continued effort to get pregnant, again. I have never tried Strattera but was on Concerta for years. I hope it gives you the focus and direction that you are looking for! What is your novel about?!

    Weight loss stall

My advice would be to lower your calories. We are still in our honeymoon period for losing this weight. Go back to getting your liquid via shakes and then minimize additional calories by drinking water. Make sure you're taking all of your vitamins. I have minimal interest in food all throughout the day, so I just make sure to meet my protein range before introducing other food in the evenings.
