1. Happy 39th Birthday medicsunshine!

  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary medicsunshine!

  3. I was banded on 7-18-09, I did great in the beginning and was doing great until december. I have 5.5 cc in my band and I just had a fill in the middle of febraury. I am not losing any weight. I excersise I am a gymnastics coach, and I have many people come up to me and tell me how great I look for I was 283 and today I am 207. I want to get to that 100 pound mark. I have the munchies, I eat my protein, I do my best to eat when I am suppose to. I crave sweets like crazy- mainly choclate and peanut butter. Ive done it in a shake- not the same...lol Anyone else done this? I am very committed to this. I am just getting discouraged. Plus I feel full yet my brain is telling me I need to snack on something. My brain and stomach are not talking to each other very well. What can I do?:crying:

    Calorie intake range question???

My doctor has me on 1200 calories, 100 carbs max, and 70 grames of proyiens. I try to keep my carbs down for those will break up into sugar and then fat.
  5. I was banded July 18th, done great no vomiting. Did clears for 3 days and now on full liquids. Im am hungry a lot and feel dizzy, I have lost 15 lbs I feel that is too much in a week. I am only getting about 600 calories a day, 30 grams of protien. How soon before all of you ate food. I feel I really need it. I walked tonight with my daughter for 30 minutes and no problems. I am only sore if I do too much and not rest. Also I cant sleep, anyone else have that problem? Im only sleeping about 4 hours, I use to go to bed at 11 and get up at 7. Now I go to bed 4 am and wake up about 9. Any advice from those who have been there, i would apperciate it.

Having to sit up to sleep...

I just cant sleep. Even with the pain meds, I sleep about 2 hours and wake up. I have been soo tired, and the pain is pretty bad. All the pain in on the left side, I have found having a ton of pillows around me help me sleep on my side. I do have hunger pains and sometimes it makes me want to cheat, but I dont.
  7. They gave me Loratab in liquid form, wound up itching and hives so then I got benedryl. Call the hospital in the middle of the night to get my doctor to give me something new. He then now has me on Tylenol 3 liquid form. I guess I am allergic to hydrocodine. Yet I am not allergic ro codine.:confused2:
  8. Well I see we both got banded on the 18th and ur not a whimp either. I had a hysterectomy in 1998 and gallbladder surgery, thought this wouldnt be so bad. Well I am in pain meds as often as I can. First they had to find something I could take due to I am allergic to hydrocodine. I am now on tylenol 3, helps a little. I have found ice on the sutures helps so much. I also walk a lot and it helps. Cold things hurt my stomach but warm seems to help. So me and chicken broth have became best friends. I hope you start feeling better soon.

My surgery date is July 18.. Newbie here

No I am on the Protein diet for two weeks until my surgery. I thought we did the liquid diet after the surgery. At least this is how Dr Lewis does it. Without already having the band in I would hate to be on a liquid diet, gee you would be starving all the time.

Yes we will have to keep in touch and compair notes

    Itching!!!!!

You can also take oral benadryl, its helps a lot. You may be allergic to tegaderm or the tape they used. I was after my c-section and I know it takes about 3-4 days for the itching to go away. Sorry you are so misable right now.
  14. Hi I have been reasearching lapband for about a year and in May I decided lets see what it will all take for me. I called our local weight loss surgery office and started talking with them, before I knew it I was excited to do it and they had made me all my appointments. I did all my blood work and tests on June 11, onJuly 2 I got the call congrats your insurance approved your surgery. Donna made me feel like I won the lottry, kinda I did the my life back lottery. I am 34 years old currently 5'3" and 260 lbs a size 24. I would like to be about a size 5 or 7 like I was after my second child, and 130 lbs. My goal weight is 145. I am a EMT and I coach gymnastics. I cant wait for the day that I can play with the kids I coach and do gymnastics again. :frown: I have 3 kids who are all teenagers and after I lost my father in Iraq in 2006, it made me take a hard look at my own life. I want a healthy life ad to be able to look back as I get older and have no regrets.
