    I know it's not easy but ...

I am so glad I found this thread today... It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that hasn't had an easy time of it. I'm going in to see my surgeon today after 6 months of no weight loss. I fully expect to get yelled at. I've gained 5 pounds. I'm just over a year and a half out -banded June 2008- and have only lost 60 pounds. (yes, I know that's a lot but I really thought I would lose all of the weight by now. I still have 30 - 40 pounds to go) I love being thinner and think I look cute, and then I realize that I'm still considered a "big" girl. I get so frustrated sometimes with my band! Ever since my last fill it's been slime and pb city. Sometimes my head hunger takes over and I'm ticked because I can't eat more. This winter has been especially hard for me because I've been craving comfort foods like chili or Beans with cornbread.

    Very Impatient!!!

I'm trying really hard to keep my weight loss at 1 lb a week, but some weeks I haven't lost anything. I know my first fill will be here soon, but I want the weight off the day before surgery! And I keep thinking that every week without a fill is an extra pound I have to keep carrying around. I'm actually kind of glad that there are other people out there that have to wait even though I know they must be just as frustrated as I am. I don't feel like I'm the only one with a really strict dr anymore. Yeah for me! Well, not really. But you know what I mean...

    Very Impatient!!!

I had my surgery here in texas by the very dr making me wait. I understand why... he says that too many people are letting the band do all the work instead of changing their eating habits, but understanding and doing the waiting are two different things. Some days I feel so hungry I could eat forever and I just keep trying to tell myself it will get better after I have a fill.
  7. Anybody else have to wait 3 months for their first fill??? My dr's policy is 3 months from surgery. Most other people I've talked to have had a fill after about a month. Really really tired of waiting!!! :confused2:

    What DON'T they tell you?

I am also having to learn how to eat. Yes, I feel full after eating. It depends on what I eat as to how long I feel full. I've only been banded for 2 weeks and don't have a fill yet, and I'm consistently freaking out about whether or not I'm eating too much. I only once (so far) have felt like I was going to throw up, but that was my first meal with solid food and I didn't chew like I should have. I tell anyone who asks that I have been banded. I voluntarily told my friends and family so that they could support me in any way they wanted to. Some of them have chosen not to eat junk food in front of me, and truthfully I think it's really nice of them. Over all.....I'm really glad I got banded. It really does change your life. Honestly, I miss some of the food and drinks that I used to be able to have but not enough to stay fat for them.

    New......and banded

I know the feeling about the insurance...... I wouldn't have been able to do mine either if I hadn't had back surgery earlier this year. I wish you all the luck with both the 6 mo diet and getting it done by 12/31. I'm an impatient person too and now that I have the band, want the weight to come off yesterday. But I know it will be better to loose it slowly. Hopefully I won't have too much excess skin when I'm done.

    New......and banded

Maybe I will be getting a fill then..... it's about the same time frame. I'm looking forward to it, but a little nervous too. I need to start walking again. I didn't last week 'cuz it pulled when I walked and I thought maybe it would be best to let it heal a little more. But I haven't had any pulling for the last day or so, and we walked for hours yesterday. Do you feel restricted at all? I already feel like I can't eat as much.....
  11. Hi, I'm new to the place. My name is Charlotte and I was banded 6/25/08. I'm feeling much better now, but the first 2 days really sucked. It hurt a lot more than I expected it to... and I'm no weenie when it comes to pain. Anyway, I have my first visit back to to doctor on 7/9 and don't really know what to expect. Am I going to get a fill?:confused2:
