lindseylovesdogs got a reaction from summerseeker in Revision because of Complications
Could anyone give me any insight on how this will work? The differences between the sleeve recovery verses the revision recovery? I'm not entirely sure if I'll be getting one but at this point my gut is saying that it's going to be necessary. I can't eat or drink anything. Throwing up, dry heaving, Still have stomach pain, they think it's all from gastritis. I feel like i'm starving to death at this point. My diet is ice cubes (barely). I can barely walk from malnutrition. I just turned 19 and I'm in college so I also don't know how much it would affect my classes.
I'm looking for things that are obvious about the recovery and things that aren't obvious that I might not think of. And if anyone else has gone through this.
When I got the sleeve I was more able to research things and literally memorize everything but I'm so messed up I really need someone to just help me figure it out kinda.

lindseylovesdogs reacted to lizonaplane in Nausea, need suggestions.
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I'm suffering from intermittent nausea in the last few weeks, but nothing like what you're dealing with. For me, if I eat a cracker or some cream of wheat, it helps a bit, as does diet soda, slightly flat. I had surgery the day before you.
Good luck!

You must feel terrible and wonder what you would have done if you knew this was on the cards for you. With out hindsight we are blind to the path we tread. I really feel your pain and helplessness. You have suffered long enough
I do think you need a second opinion and some imagining and tests. Even if its to put your own mind at ease.
I hope your luck and health change soon

lindseylovesdogs got a reaction from summerseeker in Is GERD worse in the beginning months after surgery?
I'm 2 months post-op, I'm on 80mg of pantoprazole, not on puree stage yet.
I just got off of my PICC line yesterday. It seems like for the past 1-2 weeks the GERD has gotten worse, which is also when I started drinking a regular amount. I'm only drinking gatorade zero and 2 shakes. I have so much flem and saliva now and it also hurts.
I had GERD, gastritis, and a small hernia prior to surgery.
Does it get better as time goes on? Is it just worse in the beginning months or do I need to start looking at options (revision etc)?

lindseylovesdogs reacted to NovaLuna in Losing weight when you’re disabled
While I didn't have the gastric sleeve specifically (my surgery has a VSG stomach, but it also has the intestinal bypass bit because it's the Loop Duodenal Switch/SADI-S/SIPS) I AM disabled due to two back injuries and osteoarthritis in my knees, back, hips, ankles, etc. that make it to where I can't really exercise. I was told that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise and after having lost a grand total of 204 pounds (136 pounds of that since my surgery. The other 68 pounds was my monitored weight loss before my surgery) I agree with that statement. I WISH that I was more mobile because I KNOW I would have lost more, but I'm incredibly happy with my results. I mean, I'd like to lose the last 5 pounds to my goal weight, but if I hit maintenance I'd be okay where I'm at (lost 1 pound this month after a 30-odd day stall. Lost 4 pounds last month and 1 the month before that after a 30 day stall. I'm getting closer and closer to maintenance, I think).
