  1. I've now lost from 260 to 209... 51 pounds since January 11. It's the most i've ever lost. So far the bypass and me get along well. I'll post pictures if anyone is interested.

    Teri

Glad you are finally doing well teri!! Tomorrow is 2 1/2 years since my banding and I have finally made it to 199 and a 56 lb loss. Yay!! It's been slow and a few bumps along the way but well worth it. I feel great, am taking kickboxing 3X/week and recently started training to do a 100mile bike ride in June!!!! Like someone said....WTG Samurais!!!

  2. The end of the this week will be my 2 year bandiversary (9/25/08) and I have been a slow loser. I really wanted to hit a milestone of 50 lbs but it's not looking like that will be happening. I'm hovering around 44 lbs or so. When I look back at my weight loss history, I hardly EVER lost and i've GAINED at all the major diets..how the heck is that possible. On a dr. supervised diet i only lost 15 pounds in nearly 2 years also. Soooooooo, I'm thrilled to say I lost 44 lbs and I will continue until I lose ALL I want to lose!! Ive had my troubles, its been an up n down but overall, only success is coming my way. That's my mantra and I have to stick to it.

Sorry for those who had to get rid of their band..i was worried recently and had an unfill..i gained a few pounds but I'm going back for a little refill...maybe not as much as before but i am definitely not at restriction now.

  3. Hi everyone...I was also banded on 9/25/08 and have lost around 40 lbs. I"m not completely happy with the amount but wouldn't trade my band for anything. The alternative (gaining even more) would not have been an option.

I've floundered with my exercising...and my eating. I'm at 6.0 in a 10.0 cc band and haven't had a fill in the last 2x. I thought maybe this is the right spot, but I don't know. Recently, I had a couple of bad incidences after eating a small amount of food. Each time I go to my dr's appt they say i'm "doing fine" so I just don't know. I know this is a learning curve and when i look at the last 16 months I KNOW without a doubt that I've made positive changes in my life and if i just stick with it day-to-day the weight will come off.

  4. I'm one month away from a year and I'd be thrilled with 52. right now I'm under the 1 lb/week average..but hey, its pounds that are gone forever.

I had about a 12 week plateau but i stuck with it and finally broke through. Just keep up the day-to-day following of your program and you will get through.

And Celebrate your accomplishments!!! 52 lbs gone is great!!!

  5. i understand what you are going through. I had better restriction with fill #2 than #3 then too much with #4 and #5 took weeks after the fill to feel the effects. There's no rhyme or reason for how the fills affects us. Maybe it hasn't "hit" you yet but it will. I was about to call for another fill when on the 18th day post-fill I felt restriction. Just my experience.

    Good luck

  6. The same thing happens to me ( i like Jachut's way of putting it..it makes sense) but it doesn't bother me as much because I know it's about Water fluctuations. I have a Tanita scale which shows the % Water in addition to how much I weigh. When the weight is up it's usually because I'm retaining water.

I figure if I take it one meal at a time...eat right...it WILL come off slowly...and that's ok with me.
