Hey, Banded Friday April 17th and I have tremendous gas pains, which I can admit to needing to walk more. Pain at my port site as well. Other then that can't wait until I can get up the strength and energy to start this new walk on this new journey. Glad I did it (so far)

Hi! Neighbor. I to go to the carolinas weight manag.... Dr. Kuwada is my Doc. I love him. Quiet man, but to the point. Through out my entire ordeal which started 07/2008 he was constantly in my ear (what I didn't like) telling me the band is a slow, drawn out process that take up to 3 yrs to reach your full potential. So I was well aware. At the last minute I even was going to switch to gastric bypass cause I don't think (didn't think) I had the patience to let this process go by as slow as he would warn be about EVERY single contact with him. But I decided on the band cause I did accomulate alot of bad habits that did not take over night. I do need to totally re-do my diet and exercise program...constantly. I need to take the same time and patience it took to love my self and body that it took me to get to this very unhealthy weight. I hope you find patience along the way and CWM, also, they have a support group every Tues. at Mercy, you should think about attending. Wishing you all you want and the patience to get there in a healthy way!

My first day post op, I made sure to drink plenty fluids, and I felt so blah, realized I was full, but it didn't feel like the full I was use to. Take you time and get to know your body. Created the right pace for you.

This need to burp but can't is "killing" me, but beside that, still so excited on my new journey!

Hey ladies, I'm just two day post op. Now the nurse in me must step up and in. Remember they pumped you full of gas which your body must slowly get rid of. On top of the bloating and swelling and any number of things going post op with in your body. It is very tempting to think that you are going to have instant wt. loss, but we all know that's not the case. It is very unhealthy for the spirit to weigh yourself prematurely, very unhealthy. Start looking as if you did this for health and not to instantly loss weight. Weighing yourself often or even in these next 2 weeks before your Doctor's visit and true weigh in should not be done. Instead, concentrate on health, staying healthy, getting healthy, eating right and all the the other post op blahs, rather then your immediate weight. This should all be temporary, give your body time to do what it needs to do to heal without added pressure of how much it weighs now.

Yes, I am bloated and hurting only do to gas pains, wish I know how to get rid of the gas and fast!! I was banded Friday. I am walking, not over exerting, but trying not to just lay around. I need to burp, but it hurts to burp, just started passing gas (but not enough)last night, and that don't hurt, but when I burp, I have to hold on to my chest. Boy, the things your body make you talk about...

Had my band Friday, and it feels as though if you stick a pin in me imma blow

Have you talked to your Doctor? What is he saying?

I just completed my first week of liquid dieting and it was not as hard as I tried to make it. Today was my hardest day. My start wt. was 228 and now I'm 218 and my Surgery date is April 17th. This excitement will not go away.

I started my pre op diet April 3rd and I'm allowed to have jello, as long as it's not red

What a good feeling, open up that window and let that doubt fly on out!

I started my liquid diet today, I am so excited, never been so excited about not eating (I think something is wrong with that, lol). It's all I want to talk, read, dream about.

I have trouble, I hate water and I'm trying my darndest to get it all in. But it's so worth it, every day my goal is to drink more then the last

I have plenty thoughts, I do my real research through books and My Doctor and his partners bio, as well as my weight loss center. I am a nurse and I often tell my patients please do not use the internet as a reliable source of info, so I try to practice what I preach. I joined one group and that's this one. To much info can be dangerous and the people at your weight loss center should be the number one source of unbiased information.
