  1. Hi. In preparation for my puréed stage (surgery date was 5/10), during the purée stage does anyone know any restrictions on spices and seasoning? (It won’t be anything spicy, I don’t do that). What about Everything But the Bagel seasoning? Thank you

  2. After my 1-2 weeks of liquids, the post op diet I’ve been given by doctor for Stage 3 is 1-2 oz puréed (mushy) soft, high Protein meals for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. NO red meats, chicken breast or eggs. This seems to be different from everyone else’s plan, as I see so many have eggs and chicken. But I’m gonna follow what he’s given me. That being said, any suggestions of what puréed foods you recommend. I will not eat puréed, mushy fish. I’m at a loss.

  3. My surgery was just this past Monday, May 10th. I miss chugging big gulps of ice cold Water. I’m ok with taking little sips for now, while my stomach heals. But will there be a time I can gulp cold water again? And if so, how long did it take you?

Mine was on the 10th as well. Yesterday I got all of my liquids in, but not nearly enough Protein. This morning I am struggling just getting some liquid and pills in. I am getting cramping right at the bottom of my sternum. Almost like smaller versions of labor cramps. I am sipping Protein 2O so I can get both protein and liquid in. So glad to find some surgery twins. 🙂

Holy cow, all your liquids?!?!?! I’m impressed. I didn’t even come close. Today was my first day starting protein. I’m so scared to try to do too much.

    May 10th.

    Started my pre-op diet yesterday.

    IT'S GETTIN' REAL!

Hi, I had my surgery on the 10th also. How's it going for you? I feel pretty good today, but I get cramping down my sides when i take the tiniest sips of Water. It lasts less than 30 seconds, but not enjoying it. My go to at the moment is sugar free popsicles.

While you're on Clear Liquids, Syntrax Nectar is good and has a variety of flavors. IdealFit also has some good clear Protein that you can buy in single-serving packets.

Once you're on full liquids, Protein hot cocoa! I found that warm drinks went down more easily than cold (especially in the beginning), so if you have trouble drinking cold Protein Shakes (or just get tired of them), try protein hot cocoa. The BariatricPal brand is really good, but you can also get protein hot cocoa on Amazon (I like ProtiDiet brand). You can boost the protein even more by making it with Fairlife milk instead of Water.

Thank you so so much for the info ❤️❤️
