    All protein is now gross

This is where it can get tough. I hated the waste of products and money as everything was Blahh. TBH there are still a few things that I can't stomach. How much longer are you on liquids only? Contact your team, If they are in office at this time of year. Tell them your struggles and see if they have alternative, if not improvise if you can't stomach the shakes a day longer. You need the nutrients. Can you drink Full Skimmed milk ? This has a surprisingly a lot of protein. To add more protein add a spoon of yogurt, dried milk powder or I flavored it with PB2 powder and banana. There is also consomme, boullion and bone broths. They don't have as many calories as protein shakes or milk but you need to get food in you. Once you get a little further along it gets easier, I promise. Others who used shakes will give you other pointers but the Fairlife brand does seem to me one they advocate, so fingers crossed for you there.

    800 calories

I would be confused too. How a dietician could say that anything over 800 calories will make you gain weight is just ridiculous. Here in the UK it is guided at 2000 calories a day for an active woman and 500 calories more for a active male per day. For information - To maintain my weight I need to eat around 1600 calories a day. Anything less and I drop weight. I don't exercise, just walk and apart from one day a week where I volunteer, I am retired. I still have a fair restriction on my sleeve. So my advice to you would be go back to the dietician, check the facts, ask for a diet sheet and if they want you on 800 calories it must be so you can drop quickly. It does not sound sustainable if you are active. I could do this diet for a short time because I cook from scratch, log everything religiously and can cook and plan ahead. So this is what my 800 calories would look like - Breakfast, 2 eggs scrambled in 1 calorie spray oil [ PAM ] and 200mls of full skim milk for my coffee Lunch, 2 cups of Vegetable soup made without starchy vegetables, so no potatoes Evening meal, 1 x 6 ounce chicken breast, side salad with calorie free dressing and a 7 ounce jacket potato I hope this helps

    Day 11 after surgery

You are doing super great. The main thing you need to do is follow your teams advice. Every single person on this site had a different regime. In the end if you have followed the advice, you win and you seem to be doing that. The early foods do get repetative but stick in there. You have a huge cut and stitch line on your tummy and just because we can't see it, people forget it. Sugar free popsickles and milk with added sugar free flavours got me through.

    The New Year is Approaching!

Its a long train journey which I love. So thats my start. I want to hold my weight I want to get rid of more stuff I want to spend 3 solo weeks on a Greek beach with books. I did it last year and it was one of the best thing I have ever done. I want to get out of the house one more day a week

    Carb Detox

This is a tough one. I loved carbs too. Would live off noodles, rice and pasta. I was so lucky that for 2 years I couldn't fit any in my tiny stomach. It retrained me. Now I am having to watch out. My husband who is thin, loves carbs, so we have them with every meal. I love vegetables so I make sure every meal has at least two portions and I eat them before any carbs. Thats the only way I can manage my intake. I try to make my daily menu with only one portion of carbs too. I hope you can work it out. You deserve it, you have really done so well. Christmas is hard and seems to last forever.

    Purée Stage

I tried lots of pureed foods but as I had already had issues with food smells, the look of pureed food was not for me. I managed home made thick blended soups with lentils and cheese for the protein. It was an unpleasant time for me. On here I heard about protein yogurt and puddings. Life savers. Just do the best you can because it isn't the best time of year when there is so much food around.

    Wellbeing Checkpoint! ✅

Good for you for being brave and going to the doctors right away. Fingers and toes crossed for you. I found a cyst in my stomach area whilst feeling the new me. It weighed in at 3lbs. It was attached to a ovary. My fat hid that ! For years I had a dull ache, trouble with my bowels and water works and never bothered about it. When I did, they fast tracked me and I know how you feel, its a bumpy ride. The surgeon who took it out said it was memorable. I just can not get into the Christmas spirit either. I have no grandchildren so that doesn't help matters. My husband got the tree and the decorations out yesterday and this kind of forced me into putting them out. I did it in a foul temper but last evening with all of them lit, the house looked 'proper bonny ' as we say in these parts. So I am glad I was pushed. For my sweet treat I buy the little bars from Aldi that come in a 5 pack or have a Clif protein bar, Chocolate chip is my fav. Just enough to satisfy the sweet itch and I dont have an already open bar to tempt me.

    Need opinion

Yes thats extra tough if you are cooking for the family. Thats going the extra mile for them. Cooking smell made me barf early on. My husband cooked in a closed kitchen with the windows open for me. Lots of us had weird taste buds and finding something palatable was expensive as I would reject foods after a taste. I still can't bide my once fav food, salmon. Its the keytones. I had the most disgusting taste in my mouth for a few months. Keep posting on here, We know you are suffering and we will be with you.

    Need opinion

Yes this part is tough, try your best to stick with it, you have done so well. People who havent had this surgery think we have taken the easy option ! Are you allowed to try strained soups. I could have strained chicken noodle soup, consomme, beef tea, milk and pho which was like a taste explosion after all that water. Good luck

    360 Belt Lipectomy in a week 😬

In my view for what its worth, Your arms are brilliant. The surgeons have given you good advice and saved you some money. Your torso is not bad. Do you really need a 360 ? There are smaller surgeries these days. If you put your surgery into the search engine you will get pictures of the scarring. Everyone heals differently so scarring is never the same on two people. There is also a small risk of infections and abcesses that will make a mess of any surgeons handy work. Any work on your stomach area would hurt for at least the first 5 days. Three months ago, I was opened from my pubic bone up to my navel for unrelated surgery and I was walking around like a woman broken in half. Just sitting up from lying in bed is a feat that will leave you sweating. Which is why people advocate recliners, because they stand you up with out using your sore midsection. With a 360, you will struggle to find a comfy spot to lay on. BUT all this passes, good meds help, having someone with you helps. In the end its a very personal thing. If I were younger and unmarried I may think differently but I am old, I have a mass of extra skin but I live in a fairly cold country. I am only ever showing my arms and legs when I go abroad on holiday. I don't give much thought to what people say as long as I don't hear it. I park myself on the beach, doff off and enjoy the sun on all my saggy baggy bits. Then I come home and hey presto, I back in leggings and long sleeves that hide everything. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Be happy in what ever amount of skin you can live with.

    "You're wasting away"

Being overweight all my life, I bristle at any comment about my size. Then or now. Its my business, end of. If you saw me before so disabled and ill and see me now able to do anything I want. That is something I will talk about. Want to talk about how happy I am or being able to stop the anti depressants, yep I am your woman. I am not comfortable with anything else.

    Need some suggestions please....

Have you cut back on your exercise regime ? Yours did seem to be full on. Especially when we are on such reduced calories. I find a 30 minute brisk walk in the fresh air energises me and is great for a relaxing sleep later

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win??🥇

Today is 3 years since my surgery. I wept a little this morning, I am still the skinny woman I always wanted to be. Every morning when I wake, I feel my tummy and Greyhound ribs to make sure it wasnt a dream. I will always be grateful to my team who took on a disabled, fat old woman and gave me this chance. I may have paid for it and put the work in but they gave me this tool.
