This surgery makes our hormones go wild so that could be the answer but you should go see a doctor to be sure.

    Hair Shedding & Hair Loss

Its very scary but it does stop. Lots of us cut our hair really short to hide the loss. I dont believe there are any products that help with hair loss. I dont know if its my age but I have not gained any thickness back yet but I love that I dont have to spend hours dealing with my long hair any more

    Feeling pretty low

Yes I know how you feel, I went through this buyers remorse too. I hated cooking smells, couldn't eat, couldn't drink enough. My restriction was so extreme that until the internal swelling abated I struggled to sip water. It passed and every day after I felt better. I got a double dose of anti nausea meds and that changed my nausea slowly for the better. Take it hour by hour, day by day. Rest as much as you can. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. I promise you that soon you will feel better. Just getting to your liquid goal does make you feel so much better. It takes a while but you will get there too

  5. Different scales will always weigh differently. Just go with the one scale weight. Make sure to keep hydrated. Ring your team if you are worried I was 325 pounds on the day of surgery and a month later I had lost 31 pounds.

    Mulit-Vitamins throuh Amazon

My team said to buy any adult multivitamin from the supermarket and take 2 a day. Had a bit of trouble getting some over brexit etc, and so I got Vitawell Adult multivitamin gummies from Amazon. Really inexpensive

    First Foamies

Foamies are very random for me. One day I can eat something and the next my body rejects it. I still have problems but its occasionally now. The last time I think it was because a little bit of red pepper skin that got stuck. I got used to them early on and they are something that I can deal with secretly but they are still uncomfortable.
  10. I track my daily calories on My fitness app. I only weigh proteins and fats and any carbs. I cup measure everything else. I do not eat carbs really because they feel so heavy and cause me to have the foamies
  11. You are doing so well. I really struggled to get protein in too, its tough in the beginning. The advice I was given was just do my best every day. You will loose your stamina if you don't keep your calorie count but you have a few weeks grace yet. Eating high protein yogurts and drinking a shake a day should give you 50 grams of protein. This is a great boost of energy and if you choose wisely, low cal too. At the end of my day, I total my protein, using a app and if I am short I have some cheese, skimmed milk or a protein pudding. It will all get easier in the weeks to come

10 months post gastric not lossing

This is brutal for you. Some people are eating regular foods in week 2. The randomness of these diet restrictions are never ending. Ring your team and see if you can get the go a head to go to at least puree stage

10 months post gastric not lossing

I eat about 1200 to 1300 a day. My dietician recommendations. Any less and I have not got the energy to do the daily things I want to. I stopped loosing regular weight drops about 6 months ago. I am still on a downwards curve but now its very slow, I would say about 4lbs every 2 months. I get a good drop then am up again for weeks until I get very slowly to the low weight again, then its a good drop and repeat. I put your weight and height in 'My fitness pal' and it says for you to loose 1lb a week, you could eat 1400 calories on a active lifestyle. So you should still be loosing but some say your body will be holding onto every calorie it can while you are on very low cals. What does your team say ? I would say, stick with what you are doing and see where you are in 3 months [ unless 1000 calories is too restrictive for you to maintain.]

    VSG Surgery 4/14!! Twins?

Hi there, Congrats on the very near surgery date. We have all been given different pre op diets. So its hard to comment on yours and be helpful. I have never seen the same one twice ! They are all a bit brutal to begin with and scary but we have done it just to get the surgery. About day 4 you get used to the regime and white knuckle it to the surgery day. Onwards and down wards

    Bubbles.

Wine and champagne is wasted on me, never liked it. I do however like a G&T when I am out, its rare but I dont get problems with having a few. I drink coffee non stop, use straws etc and have no problems
  18. Choose any one scale, if its at home put it in exactly the same space every time. If I move mine to the other side of my bathroom I gain 7lbs. Is the dietician the one your surgeon uses ? and is this the surgeons advice to you ? 150 grams of protein is not a lot pre surgery. Eating protein will make you feel fuller while keeping calories low. I imagine you need to keep the Carbs low. Can you add what you protein count is usually like, it will help us help you Are you vegetarian or vegan? There are so many protein options out there now. Find some protein yogurts that you can eat or add extra protein to your milk and yogurt. Dhal is great for protein, add extra yogurt and seeds to top it.

    Surgery Scheduled for 4/6

We would not be human if we did not fear the unknown. This surgery is a massive leap. Lots of us are not open to telling about our surgery because of the negative feedback from people who think they know it all. This forum is a friendly safe space where we all have aired our good and bad days. We help each other as much as possible. Ask questions, read the back pages, there is over 20 years of them.

    Post op Upset stomach

If you are trying a new food then its best to try it at home first. If you are going to get the foamies then its so much better to be alone in your own bathroom.
  24. Chat to your surgeon, they have years of experience and knowledge.

    Post op Upset stomach

I never did the puree stage. The food looked so yucky and my taste buds were so off. I had soup and broth for those two weeks and went straight to soft foods. Just do what ever you can to get as much protein and liquid in you as possible. Try them again when you feel like it. I couldn't eat chicken or fish for a whole year. I tried them every month but vomited every time. Then just when I thought I would never be able to eat them again - they are accepted in my stomach again. Carbs are another thing that I am struggling with but I am ok with never eating them again, they were my nemesis. We are all different and our bodies all take different lengths of time to heal. As they say - one size does not fit all
