  2. You will lose weight. You need to heal and then the weight loss can happen. You are talking down to yourself. You had a crappy surgery experience and now you feel bad. YOU will lose weight, feel better and look back at this time in a few months and realize you were wrong-YOU CAN DO THIS.

I had a negative band experience 5 years ago and now am looking at bariatric surgery again. Not sure which one
  4. I had major complications in the past 8 months, port revision, total unfill and then slippage and taken out July 8. How long does it take for my stomach to return to normal? I am afraid to eat since I have been barfing for 8 months. I lost 30 lbs and want to keep it off. May look into weight watchers.
  5. I am officially unbanded as of today and can put this negative experience behind me. I may join weight watchers now once I am better.
  6. He is looking into it. Said no point in repositioning due to high chance of reslippage.
  7. I am getting unbanded July 8 thankfully. I am able to keep down liquids and soft foods-soup, boost etc so Im fine that way. I just hate that I wasted so much money for it to fail.
  8. I am getting my band removed Jan 8 or 15. I can't wait to get my life back. I cannot eat hardly anything without PBing. Normally I have a meal replacement for breakfast, soup (liquid) for lunch and ice cream occasionally in the evenings. I try eating solids but usually throw them up. This has been a nightmare from the beginning. Plus 14 grand wasted. Oh well-better luck with dieting.
  9. PB alot is not normal. I kept making excuses for all my PB. I have a slipped band and see my surgeon this fri to discuss removal or fix options. I cannot eat anything besides sopu without PB.
  10. I see my surgeon this fri and should have an answer by then. I throw up 99 percent of what I eat unless it's soup or ice cream. Need to be able to eat food again.
  11. Port replacement was easy.
  12. I followed the post op diet to the letter. It's just one of those things. I read about the complications before hand but no one expects to have them all happen to them.
  13. PB, it doesnt go all the way down. I PB everthing I eat
  14. I am been so frustrated, but at this point need it fixed or removed so I can eat. Well see what happens.
  15. see your surgeon immediately. I had pb for months and it is a slipped band. I cannot eat solid foods, soups for me. I saw my dr today and he needs to consult with another one, likely mine will need to be removed. I am so frusrtaed, but I cant keep vomitting.
  16. It's official-my band has slipped-up and at this point will likely need to be removed. I have had the initial operation, port revision, gatrsoscope and my 3rd surgery likely in a few weeks. My dr is going to consult with another surgeon to see if there is anyway we can save it. I throw up if I eat any meals, I eat soup mostly. I have lost 28 lbs since nov b/c I throw up. I am so frustrated beyond words.
  17. I have had problems from day 1. I was banded in November, during my first fill and 30 min of needles later, discovered my port had flipped followed by port revision surgery in Feb. I had to get completely unfilled because I couldnt keep liquids down. I have PB's every few days to now every time I eat. I had a scope done 1.5 weeks ago to find out there is no pouch and my band is near my esophogaus. I had a fluoro xray last wed which confirmed by slip. I see my surgeon this friday. My husband said I should be a poster child for peope with lap band complications. So far I have lost 30 lbs (probably from PBing). Honestly, I dont regret the surgery, I regret that it is not working properly. I am hoping he will fix it and it can work the way it's meant to. I read all about the low risks of complications, just didnt think I would need so many procedures in 6 months. My advice, if you think you have a problem, don't ignore it, there may be a slippage or something needs to be fixed.
  18. I have been banded since nov 08, port revision in feb/08. I have PB since I had the band, had to be completely unfilled and still throw up. Finally had a gastroscope yesterday and found out there is no pouch and band is near my esophagus. I have to go for a barium swallow on wed and then back to mu surgeon. When you think there is something wrong-SEE YOUR DR. There likely is and needs to be addressed.
  19. I had a gastroscope today. He wrote downthat there was no erosion, no pouch seen, and band is located near esophagus. I assume this means slippage or something since the whole point of the band is to have the small pouch. I have to get a barium swallow next week and then I go back to see him. I want it fixed to stop throwing up.
  20. I was banded Nov 5/08, 6 weeks later I had port revision as it flipped and they put in 4 cc. Then I went back 2 times and ended up with complete unfill cause I couldnt keep water down. I have been PB frequently since banding and PB at least daily. No matter what I eat, how slow or how little, the PB continues. I have lost 23 lbs to date and am going for an ERG on tuesday. Any ideas-slippage, pouch problems? I am so frustrated.
  21. I had port revision one week ago and they put 4.5 in my 10 and (1st fill ever) and by monday, I had to have 2.5 removed b/c I was throwing up all weekend. Then today, I had a complete unfill cause I cannot keep soup down. Please help. Are you supposed to throw up afer fills? Is my band failing me? __________________

  23. I went for an unfill today thankfully. I couldn't even keep down liquids. I lost 6 lbs over the weekend. I now have 2.5 in my band instead of 4.5. I can finally eat soup and am starting to feel better.
  24. I think I need an unfill. I had my first fill ever on wed and he added 4.5 during my port revision when I was asleep. I cannot keep anything down hardly even liquids. Will it subside in a few days or should I will call his office tomorrow and get the fill taken out.
