APRILDEE1 got a reaction from Blacc.Beautiiee in 6 Months and Stalled
So glad I have this forum...it has been so helpful that last 7 months.
I am 7 months post op sleeve and have been at the same weight for exactly 6 weeks. I admit I have not been tracking my intake and have been "testing" lots of different foods now that I know I am fully healed which I am sure is the issue. I too have been losing hair for the past 2-3 months but this am i only had a half of hand of hair so there is some progress. It always nice to known I am not the only one going through this :) I also have not been walking due to the amount of light outside. This am I was finally able to walk again this am before work and I started tracking my food again so fingers crossed. I have consistently had an intake of 60-80gm of Proteins a day and more than 80 oz of Water daily.

APRILDEE1 reacted to Jaelzion in How to Stop Grazing? Please Help!
Grazing has become my normal way of eating. I rarely sit down for a full meal. Instead I eat around six mini-meals throughout the day. It's the same number of calories because I am not grazing AND eating meals. I'm spreading the day's calories across a longer time period. And of course, I'm eating on plan, nutrient dense, protein-rich food and not junk. I start with Protein coffee in the morning and generally finish up with a Dannon Light & Fit yogurt before bed, eating something about every two hours. So far it works for me.

I totally know what you mean. When the stall goes on for so long it can be easy to just be like "well, this is where I am, so I might as well just eat whatever I want!" Honestly I think part of the problem might be that I'm not eating enough (usually only between 500-600 cals a day and like 5 grams of carbs) and then that also causes you to not have as many/as frequent BMs!! I found that when I bumped up my calories, added some more Fiber and carbs that I felt better, but I also started going to the bathroom better and that seems to have helped - I lost about 2lbs in the past week! It can be so easy to slack though! Hopefully we are all moving through this! I"m going to throw myself an actual party when I finally hit 199 - we are so close!!!

I just keep mixing it up to break a stall. Changing protein/ fat/ good carb intake up and down seems to do the trick. It is definitely slowing down though since I am 8 lbs from goal.

UPDATE!!!! I did it!!!! I did it!!!! I did it!!! I literally ran my ass off!!! I had my blood work and weigh in today, I was fasting and I prayed all the way to town!!!!
Thank God the weather stayed cool here in North Dakota the last few weeks, I got up in the mornings and ran three miles every morning, came home and ate a scrambled egg, drank Bone Broth, for lunch I drank another bone broth and chewed on some raw veggies, dinner I ate a chicken breast or hamburger Pattie with another bone broth before bed, drank a gallon of Water and did the same thing every single day.....boring as can be but I weighed in with three pounds to spare 5 days early!!
I am now officially approved to donate a kidney to my daughter!!

Unfortunately when you juice fruit or vegetables you leave a lot of the goodness behind like the fibre they provide. Blending is fine cause you still consume the whole vegetable.

I laughed when you said 2 green Beans because that was all I could eat. I try to eat a couple green beans every time I eat so at least I know I can tolerate them. These tips were just what I needed!!! Thank you

As a former nurse manager get a note from the doctor that you have to consume 4 ounces of Water an hour. They will have to accommodate you. You will prob have to go through employee health but they have to...the only down side is then you have to make time to do that. I had my sleeve 4/8 and came back to work 2.5 weeks ago ( I am currently a NP in an Urgent Care who see covid and potential covid pts plus all the other urgent care issues) I use Baritastic app so I set alarms every 30 mins to remind me to drink water. I also hide my water in a drawer :). The hardest thing was the taking the mask on/off...so before I came back to work I tested how many oz at once I could comfortable drink. I got up to 2oz at a time so 2 water breaks an hour has worked well. I hope this helps

Long deep breath......... The last 3 weeks have been weeks of emotion. Week one discomfort wondering if its all worth it. Week 2 excitement because the pounds are coming off and the adding of full liquids. Week 3 excitement for purees and exercise, then moments of sadness and frustration when the scale didn't move wondering if I am doing something wrong. THANK GOD for this forum where just typing week 3 you she that the stalls are normal!! For those of you new to this take a few hours to just type in all your concerns questions or thoughts you will find something.
I got the go ahead to start eating "real food" and go back to the gym so super excited. I am down 17 pounds and 10 inches since day before surgery. The rate of weight loss was 12# week 1 , 4# week 2, 1# week 3....now you see the frustration LOL.
The surgery is definitely worth it! Tips that have helps with the mental aspect:
On a piece of paper write your why, then 5-6 NON weight goal i.e shopping off the rack, walking up a flight of stars post it on your mirror and check off each one as you meet them.
Remember the "old" you died on the surgery table. So what you did before is not going to be the same you are learning every day like an infant.
This is a journey not a race

Now I need help from the community:

I am supposed to add veggies to my meals but still reach my 65 gm of Protein but only eat 3 times a day with one snack...how the heck do I do that? I can only tolerate about a 1/4-1/3 cup of food. I asked the dietitian but honestly her answer was...just add then and take the food away..What the heck! ANY advice hot tips are wanted and welcomed!
    Thanks in advanced!

I really don’t even mind when my hubby eats junk food in front of me. I have had a slice of pizza and it actually made me sick to my stomach after a bite or two. I have found that when I am craving pizza, I take a few pepperoni and pizza sauce and put it on a cauliflower crust and call it pizza! I just improvise and find a new normal “junk” food . A few bites and I am full and that itch is scratched!!
The one thing I haven’t figured out how to improvise for is bubbles!!! I miss bubbles, but I have learned to love Water.

How moly, it’s almost hard to look at! I still have so much work to do but I cannot get over the changes in under 6 months! At times I really miss a cold beer (and I am not really a drinker) or a good old dish of homemade Mac and cheese but then I look at old photos and it quickly reminds me that I don’t need them that badly! What do you miss or what gives you that added incentive to shut the fridge door?

I know it's no where near my goal and I've been losing pretty slowly compared to some but I'm finally consistently below 230! That's a big deal to me! Every time I try to lose weight, I always get stuck around 233 and eventually give up. I called it my "normal fat" weight where I don't hate myself. This feels like my first real milestone. 203 is next (my weight after my first year teaching).
I've been discouraged since surgery because my weight loss pattern is stalling 80% of the time and losing a few pounds overnight every 2-3 weeks. I'm averaging about 7 pounds a month and I'm still pretty early out. But this is a WIN for me! I think this WILL work for me! It just might take some time.
AND I started working out this week. Fingers crossed that it speeds things up (or keeps things going).

I love my vegetables but I found I could only tolerate a tiny cauliflower floret, 2 green Beans or a little shredded cabbage to begin. Everything was soft. I ate my Protein first then tried the vegetables. Some days I could eat some, others I couldn’t.
I found I could eat a few more vegetables if I put them in mince dishes, casserole type dishes & Soups - tomatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms, celery, etc. I wrapped smoked salmon & cream cheese around thin batons of cucumber for a little while too (until my tummy decided salmon was bad 😁). Also added vegetables like spinach & mushrooms to cheese omelettes. You can always make steamed vegetables your snack too.
It does get easier & you’ll be able to eat more vegetables in time. Just take it slowly.
