Good luck 👍

You "know" when you have lost weight but the scales are not moving? I knew I had to be losing but some how the scales were not moving. I have been lifting and may have put on some muscle weight. I decided this week I would go back to liquid. I did eat a scoop of chicken salad. I believe this forum helps you stay on track. ONWARD!!!......YEEEHAA!!!!
Congrats 🎉

If you are dehydrated that causes weakness. Have you considered calling dr to see if they can orchestrate you getting some fluids. They can do it out patient at hospital and others have said they have iv bars and people that come to your house even. That may be a good place to start.

I notice that after surgery buttery sauces like the ones they used at Red Lobster didn't agree with me, everytime I ate shrimps or steaks in delicious garlic butter goodness I have dumping symptoms. I had sweet potatoes too at some point and hit a weightloss stall for days. Dr scolded me hehehe.

Did you have the sleeve or bypass?

Not sure if a lot of people know this (I didn’t) but you can go back to hospital as an out patient and get fluids. They put you in room with a chair and tv and hook you up to same iv you had in hospital. I had to go get two bags of fluids after I got home. I called dr and said urine was dark and they called hospital to set it up.just so you know it’s an option of you can’t correct it at home.

On another note, I am curious what calories level are you consuming. I plugged in a couple of sample plan that was provided by my NUT, and it was around 550 calories. I am around this level, and try to reach 70 mg Protein. The surgeon actually cleared me to ease into the last diet phase, and I know this is earlier than others. I used to use myfitnesspal, but yesterday I started experimenting with Bartastic app and I like it.
I have the Baritastic app installed but hadn’t started using it yet because my team hasn’t given me calorie goal yet. Just Protein and amount of ounces to consume although I’m sure it’s not much because i am still on soft food diet so it’s just meat and veggies. Well, plus two Protein Drinks which is 250 calories but one of those is a shake and I have it for Breakfast most days. I just started Baritastfic when you mentioned it today though so I will let you know.

Thank you both for requesting a glossary and for repinning. I definitely needed it.

My sleeve was March 9th and my weight loss has stalled as well. Several people on here say that the three week stall seems to be a common thing. We can hang in there together.

Today is my surgery day. Just got dressed in my super cute surgery gown, lol. So far, feeling calm. Not nervous actually. But hungry! First time. But, it's due to my own issue. I was so focused on drinking extra Water that I forgot to drink my last Protein Shake. Nurses getting me ready are great.
Good luck today ☘️

Thanks.

That is Calcium carbonate. My dietician said I needed calcium citrate. Has it worked fine for you? I want something cheaper and that’s definitely a better deal so I want to switch if it will work for me.

35 minutes ago, luvlyleggs said:@ashd13 no everything is not. I believe my daughter has bipolar and her mood is very distracting and I'm concerned for her well being. We argue everyday....its too stressful for me and i don't think it would be good getting the surgery at this time😔.
As someone who has had untreated and poorly treated bipolar for a number of years until recently and has had the surgery I think I agree that if you are right, until she is medicated and things calm down a bit it would be difficult for a parent to focus on themselves enough to make the surgery work for you right now. You can still focus on eating healthy and not gaining as best as you can and set a specific time to revisit the idea though. Best of luck with your daughter. There are very good medications out there. Just need to keep working to find the right one. Talk therapy helped me as well. You may want to mention weight concern to the doctor since obesity is genetic and mood stabilizers and anti depressants have a tendency to cause weight gain. There are a few that cause less.

Does your dietician host support group meetings about nutrition. I am thinking of going to one before I hit real food stage.

I’m 11 days out of sleeve surgery and ever since I left the hospital I have diarrhea, sorry TMI but need help. My doctor said it’s normal but I got like 3-4 times a day and never solid. Has this happened to anyone and please tell me it gets better.
Thanks
MarkI had this on the liquid phase as well but not three times a day. You may want to talk to your team so you don’t get dehydrated during a time when it’s so hard to get in fluids.

I take 2 per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. I also take 2 calcium chews per day, an extra potassium supplement and a Vitamin D supplement.
Do you take the potassium and Vitamin d because you were low since the surgery or did you already take those? What brand calcium chews?

The nurse pleaded with me to squeeze out three drops, and I tried, but got nothing. The nurse seemed annoyed that they would have to do a blood test for pregnancy and told me that it could delay the start of my surgery, but that turned out not to be true (when I looked at my test results, the time of the pregnancy test result was around the same time as all the other blood tests).
My nurse was nice about it but I had same deal. I didn’t drink after midnight except for the Gatorade my surgeon bas you drink three hours prior and I went pee twice before I went so they did a blood test. They just have to ask for it stat which they don’t love to do but my surgery went on at scheduled time.

Before surgery I mixed a gallon of crystal light a day (128 oz) and I didn’t try....that’s just how much I drank. Post surgery I have to force myself to drink 64 oz. I just don’t feel thirsty so I forget and of course when I do remember I can only drink a little bit. Does THIRST feeling ever come back? Any one else that doesn’t feel thirsty?? It seems so weird that making stomach smaller interferes with thirst unless grehlin is involved?? Just curious.

I went back to the hospital as an outpatient to get fluids. I just called my doctors office and they said it up well they had the hospital call me and set an appointment that same day and I got two bags of fluids.

5 minutes ago, Jennie4315 said:Thank you I did use them at the hospital and it didn’t work. However I haven’t had any nausea today thank god. But I do get dizzy from standing sometimes. Do you know how I can reach my Protein level like is there pills or something because I can’t drink a whole Protein Shake.
I don’t know of any pills but you should be able to drink more and more each day. I didn’t reach my Fluid or Protein goals the first few days either. They do make clear Protein Drinks that aren’t thick shakes but more like Water if that is easier to get down. Premier Protein makes one with 20g protein in like 17oz drink. They have fruit punch and peach flavor on Amazon. Those were a life saver for me cause the Protein Shakes are mostly all too sweet. Although I did later learn that premier proteins’ strawberry and caffe latte (has caffeine) aren’t as sweet and I have one a day now.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad to suicide and it is very tough. I found that time was the only thing that really helped. It went from being the first and last thing I thought about each day to being the second thing and so on. Now I am finally able to think of him and smile. You are already a step ahead of me though at this point. I let the stigma of suicide keep me from talking in the beginning which is what we need to heal. I was already in therapy and I felt that helped me a lot as well but that may be because I wasn’t taking to anyone else. Still, Something to consider.

That’s a great idea. Wish I had thought of that.
