Curves anybody?
I started Curves over a week ago. I absolutely love it. It took some getting used to...making it around the circuit a second time proved difficult at first. Now I am keeping up the pace throughout, and I am noticing results...they might not be drastic, but enough to keep me motivated that is for sure. The girls are great too, they want you to succeed!

How many fills did it take till everything felt just right?
I have 6 1/2 in a 10 cc band, I think I am just now beginning to feel where I need to be. One more should do the trick. My weight loss isn't that great either, but I am not giving up!

Kentucky bander here! 02-2008
I am up to 6 1/2 of a 10 cc band. I still lack restriction at times. Sometimes it feels like it is too much(especially in the morning,) that brings the pain for me. Overall, I feel that if it weren't for exercise and diet, the band isn't helping me much.

I had surgery in Paducah 10/17/07
I have Dr. Argotte as well...worth every mile and dollar that was spent. As far as the filter, it wasn't fun getting it, but I was so paranoid about clotting and how easy it is to get one, I just did it. I figured a little more money was worth prevention and a scare in the long run.

Will I ever feel NORMAL Again?
The doctor told me that when I feel that sort of pain...it is a reminder to either stop eating because it is either too much or too fast. I get that quite a bit because I still have trouble taking it slow. Also I have been using that as an indicator to just stop the meal altogether, if I just relax, I will have felt the restriction. That is what I need to make me stop. Others have better will power than me.

What Happened?
I have found many wonderful and caring friends here...BUT Like you I am having issues with my band...I have not lost much at all. I am going back to my weightloss psychologist to tell her my concerns. To my undoing, I have not walked the line as I should, it is what effort I am putting into this to what I am achieving. I have one more fill to full capacity. I need to exercise more, I need to make better choices...NOBODY is twisting my arm. But at the same time, it still hurts when people ask...HOW MUCH HAVE YA LOST?....well for one, none of your damn business is my first thought. Then it hurts my feelings and makes it awkward to have to tell them nothing. Lastly...find a local support group. I can't stress this enough. It is an altogether better experience to be able to cry on another's shoulder...whom UNDERSTANDS...HAS BEEN DOWN YOUR ROAD. In the meantime, we will be here for you...for each other. This will NOT beat me!:Angel_anim:

Warning to all of you-it just happened to me
This was something my DR was ultra super duper paranoid about. I decided to get the filter put in just as a precaution. I figured hell I was going into debt, a little extra dough to help prevent something was well worth the expense. I also did the 18 days of Lovenox shots too. And the old lady stockings...they were great for swelling, which I still have issues with.:confused2:

To Cut or Not To Cut
Okay gals you're gonna hate my advice: I never NEVER advise anyone to go drastic the first time. I have seen way too many girls burst into tears in the shop and ruin their self image because I or another co worker gave them what they asked/INSISTED on getting.:smile2: If you have reaffirmed time and time again that you like how your face, chin forehead looks emphasized, then I say you are ready for the razor. I usually advise shoulder length, then in a month come back in...it is the shoulder and above that seems to freak people out the most. Getting any over the ear cut is drastic too...I say try a spunky choppy layered cut, try a brilliant red, or sexy chocolate...colors do wonders. I can't imagine my hair being any other shade than red...had it for over 15 years now. The inverted or asymmetrical cuts like the modernized wedge with longer lengths in front are all the rage...you can still keep your length in the front for security.. :Angel_anim: I will say this...if you go drastic and love it...80% of the time, you never go back long again. It is too damn easy to manage. I am a pixie now...it is fab! I don't care about my face shape...my hubby loves it too. I have the crazy rooster/ducks ass neckline...so it sweeps into the center.

I don't mind the questions at all. I am not getting enough exercise, I am sure. Right now it is wealking everyday. I have a treadmill at home. I have backslid into eating more fattening foods, when I get busy at work it is altogether too easy to dial up take out. I need to check out healthier choices. Reading these posts has brightened my spirits. When I don't see progress I regress too easily, and the weight comes back on. I have to make more of an effort...I can see that. :crying:

More things I won't miss about being fat.
Smothering my customers with my tits as I am shampooing them. My back feeling like I am in my nineth month of pregnancy. Being heavier than I was carrying my children for real. Being too big for my work smock..I have taken out all the hems...still no dice. Now I get hair in my underwear and bras. Reluctant looking in the mirrors we have at work because I am wider than my clients in the chairs. Complete lack of stamina...sweating profusely like a pig. Not being able to tie my shoes without making my eyeballs bulge.

Will I ever feel NORMAL Again?
I suppose I am in transitional staging. I DO still have gas, it is almost ALWAYS from doing domething I wasn't supposed to like carbonated drinks or foods notorious for methane emissions...hello cabbage or beans, lol. In retrospect, I don't think I ever really WANT to feel as if I did prior to surgery...this thing in me is a reminder of what I allowed to happen BEFORE restrictions. Do I really want to go back? Hell no. Only downhill from this point on sweetie. We can all do this together.

Need advice on drinking prior to eating
I have never heard of not drinking prior to eating. They never said a word about it. Does this help you feel full? Can you explain the benefits of this? They just pressed not drinking for 30 mins AFTER eating. Perhaps this is where I am falling short. Maybe I should wait before and after more.

How much can you eat?
This is the quote of the year, and sums up my whole bad attitude right now. Wish I could get past this.
-
Warning!!!!
How ironic this is...I have to really beware...now I am the extreme other side of the coin. I basically pass rocks if I don't take in enough fiber. Thanks for the story though...at least we can look back and laugh!

eating lots of anything Help!
I too am able to eat anything, it is really affecting my weight loss. I am getting discouraged. I know the surgery is a tool, but I have not made strides much at all in the right direction. But I don't feel much restriction at all!

Kentucky bander here! 02-2008
Hello Everyone, I am a working mother of two, non- traditional college student, and wife to a great husband. I was banded at Lourdes weight wellness center by Dr. Alex Argotte. He is a wonderful doctor. It was a year long struggle to get to this point, but I made it. I have some concerns because I am not losing at the pace of others I have seen on the site. I look forward to others advice. Thank you for reading.

PCOS and the band? Thinking about it and looking for advice from fellow cysters
I was diagnosed with PCOS last year, I am taking Actos and back on the 'ol pill,(which is ironic since I have been tubal ligated,)the meds relieve it somewhat, but i feel that the weight is more to blame for my symptoms now. I don't have menstration without the Actos now. I know it is due to my obesity, never had a problem with this before my weight gain. I quit smoking two years ago, I gained most of my weight since then. Bottom line for me, weight loss will help me tremendously.

Hello everyone, this is my debut post. I got my banding on 02-20-2008, I am nowhere near losing as the rest of you. As a matter of fact, I am getting extremely frustrated. I have a 10cc band with 8cc filled, only one more to top capacity. I could really use some guidance...thank you.
