I had to get my gallbladder taken out about 10 months after my surgery. I was having really bad gallstone attacks that at first I thought were heart symptoms. After it was out, I took about a week off work to recover, I've felt so much better!! No more random middle chest pains!
The only thing I was bummed about was having two surgeries less than a year apart, but I guess feeling better is the main goal so I can't complain. My surgery was outpatient, I was home the same day.
I had mine less than 2 weeks ago, and like you, I didn't tell anyone. I told my family I was having a different surgery, at my job i told them i didn't wish to discuss, and honestly i don't know if I'll tell anyone. Maybe one day, right now, I'm not comfortable.
