  1. I am 6 weeks post op and I am stilling having pain. The main incision is on the right and the pain i am having is internal. The incision healed perfectly with no issues but I am having a sharp pain in my muscle that comes and goes. I want to start exercising but I can't because its so hard to bend due to the pain. I can't fully turn to either side while sleeping, i turn to the left - i feel like its being pulled.. turn to the right - i feel pressure. I can only turn half way to the side while sleeping. If I sit down at a height where my stomach is being pressed, pain. Sometimes I can't sit Indian style because I have that sharp pain. The pain sometimes radiate to my side. At first the pain was deep at the incision site but now i sometimes feel the pain is deep on top of the incision site. I spoke to my doctor and all they ask is about is the incision site, which is perfectly healed. They tell me to take Tylenol ever 6 hours, i dont want to take all these pills. My father had the same surgery and he never experience this type of pain. However, mine was robotic assisted. Its driving me nuts because I want to exercise and really lose the weight, I am currently losing a pound a week or none at all. I also want to avoid as much loose skin as possible by exercising, I know i will still have some but the quicker I act the better it will be. Did anyone else had this pain? Does anyone have an idea as to what it might be. Also I have this tingling/numbness on my left thigh. Never had it before, started happening two weeks after the surgery. It happens when I lay down to go to sleep, its effecting my sleep.. can't sleep unless I bend my legs. Has this ever happened to anyone? I don't know what to do. I got a sono of the lower extremities, no clots.
  2. Just to add my feet only feel heavy when i am climbing stairs. I have recently been placing a pillow between my knees to help me sleep on my side without my stomach feeling like its being stretched or pressure (idk why or how but it helps) and I currently sleep with my legs bended. I am getting this feeling since I been doing that.
  3. I am three weeks post op and I haven't really walked much due to the snow but i walked a bit around my house honestly less then recommended. I am back at work and my feet feel like they weight a ton and the sides of my lower leg hurts like I been exercising. I felt this way the first day I went back to work. Also I am now feeling a tingling feeling on my upper left thigh, like the feeling you get when your foot falls asleep, while I am laying down before I go to sleep. Is this normal? Or the lack of walking caused these issues?
  4. Help, I am beginning to gain weight. I originally weighed 223lbs when I went for the initial appointment. Right before the surgery I weighed 215lbs and when I came home from the hospital, 3 days later, I went back up 221lb. Next day I was 216lb. In the next 8 days, I went down to 204lbs. The follow-up doctor told me start my puree diet on the Jan 31st, which I did. (I don't know where the confusion was but my Nutritionist wanted me to start the puree diet on Feb 4th). In the past 9 days, I gained 4lbs. I been checking everyday since I was home but now I am back to work, ill check weekly but I am so afraid it will continue to rise. Is this normal? Is it the puree diet weight? Water weight? Should I limit what i am eating? I am now able to drink 5 glasses of water where as I had to force down 2 glasses.
  5. I am 2 weeks post op and my doctor recommended to wear a girdle to help with the incision. Does anyone have any recommendations? If you wear or tried a girdle, how did it help you? I am planning on wearing one even after the incision have healed. So I wanted to know the benefits for the long run.

    Questions _ 2 weeks Post-Op

Thank you! I spoke to my Nutritionist and he advised if crystal light is easier then I should drink that instead of water. He recommended blending it and adding a bit of light mayo or greek yogurt. I'll try that along with scrambled eggs. Thanks for your advice!

    Questions _ 2 weeks Post-Op

Yes, I had an appointment with the Nutritionist and he recommended to pure the hard boil eggs in a blender and a bit of light mayo or greek yogurt to make it moist. Thanks for the advice.

    Questions _ 2 weeks Post-Op

Thank you! I spoke to my doctor and she said I am still healing inside and it was normal. As long as there isn't any discharge, redness or heat, its normal.
  9. It is currently 2 weeks after my Gastric Bypass in Jan. I know its just the beginning & its going to take time. But I do have a couple of questions. 1. I am having a bit difficulty drinking water. I didn't have any problems with water, I drank 6-8 cups of water, if not more. Now when I take even two sips of water my chest and back hurts, likes its full. I follow my doctor direction not to drink at least 30 minutes after eating. I am hardly getting 1 bottle in a day. I push thru the pain to drink an 16oz bottle. I was able to drink it more easier with crystal light mixed in which was only twice (or maybe it was perfect timing where everything was going smoothly internally). FYI, I drink from a bottle. 2. I was told by my doctor to start this past Sunday on puree food. I have such a hard time eating boiled eggs. I feel the same with like I do with the water even on an empty stomach. I chew it down to a mush. 3. I have pain on one incision (the main one). The pain is on and around the incision, not red and no pus discharge. But when I try to get off of bed it feels likes a big lump/ball inside that feels uncomfortable. Has anyone had these problems and what can I do to help? Are there any other problems I might face in the future? Thank You
