    Hey everyone!

How's it going for everybody during currently? We're nearing 6 month for many of us, hows the experience been so far?

Hi everyone, I guess i can say im doing good. But there's always room for progress. Im thankful that i am not experiencing any Hair loss.< span class="ipsEmoji">🙏 Im still trying to get use to taking the horse pills everyday 😩...One thing I can say is it feels good to say "NO MORE PLUS SIZE FOR ME". Currently i can wear a size 11/12 in fashion nova jeans. 😄 I haven't been in this size since since the age of 26 yrs😁. One thing I hate is that my farts smell awful @ times🙈. Also I hate the fact that my ass which I mean literally has shrunk.😩and I want it back. Hopefully, I dnt lose anymore.

I eat other Protein when its available, my schedule just doesn't make it easy most of the time. I need to start branching out more, but I also want to keep the loss going until I meet my goal.

Hey @Flounder. Sometimes it really can be rough to get the Protein we need in. But to meet my goals I do food prep just like @Blueslily stated. It really helps when are working. In the mornings before i start work. I always just drink a Protein Drink unless im able to make me an omelet w/ spinach and crab meat. For Snacks while at work I get things like almonds, onikes greek yogurt, tuna salad w/ 2 broil eggs, egg salad, grill shrimp salad, chicken salad, Quest Protein Bar, canteloup, spinach, white and yellow cheese sticks. These are just somethings i get my protein in with while i work. So i hope it helps. But keep pushing and you are doing good💪.

Stalls are normal my love. Things that help me with stalls are relaxing and knowing it’s temporary. Also measuring helps. Switch up your workout routine a little too. My friend who had the surgery said she carb loads to break a stall, I personally can’t have carbs because they make me sick. I take care of myself everyday and I love to relax in the tub burn some incense and take time for me. I don’t weigh myself everyday anymore like I was. Our bodies like certain weights and have a hard time coming out of them. But just like the 3-4 week stall we had back a few months ago this one will pass too!

    Thanks @Incredibleshrinkiningkiley

I play with the other Proteins and they like me really well.

Hi all. Is it normal to feel very tied & get tired out very fast when doing anything. Im 2 weeks out and I feel like I may be failing myself by not pushing harder. I was never one to exercise ever. But even little things like house work are so tiring. Should I push harder at this point or should I still be taking my time with this due to healing ? Any advice would be welcome

Im almost 4 months out and I be so tired/sluggish at times. I do not like it but its worth it in the end. Hopefully it fades away eventually.

    Hello everyone,

I'm writing to ask for your help. I still have not found a daily Multivitamin that works for me. My program recommended that we use chewable for the first 2 months, starting after 2 weeks. So, at Week 3 I started the Bariatric Fusion chewable. My tummy did not like the first kind I had. So, I ordered a different flavor. Stomach was ok with second flavor, but I hated the chalky taste. I talked with my program about it at my 2 month follow up. I could move to capsules. So, I ordered capsules from Bariatric fusion. I was already using a supplemental Vitamin from them and just adding it to my Protein Shake. That was working from the 1 month mark. So, I got the Multivitamin in a capsule, added it to a Protein shake, oh no. Totally horrible. The multivitamin stinks like crazy and is so nasty. Odd, because the supplement is fine.

So, before I spend even more money on multivitamin option #4, I'm writing to ask what is working for you all. What are you using that is not upsetting to your tummy and goes down easy. My program does not want me swallowing any large pills until month 4 so that's part of this adventure also. I can't just buy a multivitamin that comes in big pill form and they say it must be bariatric specific, not just a regular multivitamin. I'm considering BariMelts next. Just tired of wasting money. Plus, scared of the impact of not consistently taking Vitamins so far. Bloodwork is not until Month 4 check up. I feel fine. Just want to be doing the right things during this journey.

    Thanks!

Hello @blueslily, I started out with the bariatric specific chewable multivitamin from bariatricpal. They was so nasty and had me nauseous. So I was relieved when I was told I could take the tablet form. The bariatric specific multivitamin tablet is kind of big. But i rather take those then them chewables. You can always crushed the tablet and put into applesauce. However, I still do take the calcium citrate chewables and sometimes the tablet. They are really big but can be crushed as well.

Happy mothers day to all. I am 4 days out and have started my supplements. I noticed the Calcium Vitamin are huge and they hurt my pouch this morning. What is the best way to take Calcium. Looking for brands and form they come in. MANY THANKS .

Hey whatever u do...do not get the chewables. They are so nasty in my opinion. I literally almost puked everytime i ate them. So i switched to the tablets and they are so much better, but cost a little more.

It will get better. Multi Vitamins can make some people nauseous - they did me. Plus your tastebuds are pretty screwy over the first couple of months so lots of things will taste off & or disgusting. It can take a bit of trial & error to find things that you can tolerate. Again it does get better.

My surgeon said it could be challenging to reach Fluid & Protein goals to begin but as long as I was making an effort & was close to goal he was happy. Don’t forget all your shakes add to your Fluid goal too.

    Congrats on your surgery.

Yea I was told that the Protein Drinks wasnt included in the fluid goal. But if so that would really help a girl out. Lol

  10. I am 1 week post op today and I can say im down almost 10 pounds. I am drinking the different Protein premium drinks, sugar free Gatorade and Water. Trust me when I say its a struggle at times getting 64 oz in if I dont start drinking by 6am. But what I hate so far is this nauseous feeling. Also I hate these muxed berry chewable vitamins by Bariatric Advantage. They are nasty as hell and makes me want to puke. The wild cherry chewable calcium citrate Vitamins not too bad. I call myself getting bariatric specific so i want have to take alot of pills. Im thinking now I probably have should went with the flintstone vitamins.

Positive post for people living with diabetes and in the pre op phase. I became a diabetic at 29 in 2018 my first blood sugar reading was 329 A1C 13.5.I was put on meds metaformin and insulin, but changed my lifestyle and was running too many lows so was taken off. In 2020 I started to get real bad yeast infections( TMI) checked my blood sugar 521 A1C 11.5 scheduled an appointment with a endocrinologist was put on humalog and trujao soloster. After getting my A1C down to 6. I was put on Ozempic and trujao. Two weeks after surgery I was told discount all meds and that I didn’t have to see my endocrinologist anymore. Since surgery resting sugar is always 70 never below and after a meal in the 90’s the highest it’s been was 104. Sorry for the long post but I wanted you all to know my struggle. Btw I had surgery 3/3. I hope others who are undergoing surgery due to weight and diabetes get the same blessing!

Thats one of the many reasons why I chose gastric bypass. I have been borderline diabetic many times and im so scared of developing type 2 diabetes.

then you will probably need those additional Vitamins above and beyond your Multivitamin. UNLESS you can find a bariatric-specific Vitamin that includes enough of the requirements for those that you don't need to worry about taking them separately (and this is true of some bariatric-specific vitamins)

Yes @catwomen7 thats what I was told. So im trying to figure out which bariatric specific Vitamin to order.

which surgery did you have? A lot of bypass patients have to take B12 and D3 in addition to their multi (we don't absorb B12 well because of our lack of intrinsic factor, so we have to take it via sublingual tablet or injection, usually - so that precludes whatever is in the multi. Also, our vit D requirement is higher than what is in the multi). I don't think sleeve patients, in general, need quite as many Vitamins (although some clinics have both kinds of patients on the same regimen)

there may be some bariatric-specific Vitamins where you don't have to worry about all these additional supplements - but check. You can compare what's written on the bottle to this list from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (you have to scroll down a ways to see their requirements):

    https://asmbs.org/app/uploads/2017/06/ASMBS-Nutritional-Guidelines-2016-Update.pdf

Well I will be having gastric bypass on the 29th and I just want to have everything I need before hand.

I'd have no problem eating that either as that's also how I typically eat. I'm still waiting to see what my pre op diet will consist of. I know I'll have one but they've yet to give me the details of it. Guess I'll find that out in the 90 min pre op class I'll be attending or during my last surgeons visit.

Well @SummerTimeGirl I found out when i had to do a 4 hour nutrition pre op class last thursday. That I had to do a liver shrinking diet which is required by surgeon. As well as attend a support group.
