  1. So i try to eat slow but it’s so hard. Also sometimes I eat late lastnight at 7:30pm I had alittle bit of chilli and couldn’t lay down for 2 hours. I try to eat all through out the day. Because I don’t want to lose to much weight.

Has anyone had drastic vision changes after VSG? I am not convinced it is related to WLS but I am just wondering if anyone else had any issues. I have had glasses since I was in high school and I will be 50 next month so I am getting older and vision changes are natural but I had my eyes checked this week because of some changes going on and holy smokes.......talk about changes. My astigmatism is out of control, both my close up and distance prescription changed to the point the dr had them check the machine and he double checked his reading ...... I have to have them checked again in 3 months and again in 6 months because of the drastic changes???

I know getting old sucks but cripes I did not SEE this coming... haha

My vision has changed to since my surgery that was March 30th But I haven’t got it checked and I really didn’t think anything of it.... that’s crazy

I’m one day post op and I’m having such a difficult time drinking Water and since I’ve been home I’ve noticed I’ve been vomiting and have nausea. Anyone else experienced this ?

I had surgery on the 30th I can’t really drink Water either so I mix apple juice with the water. I do get nauseous all the time. They said that it’s normal. Any juice I have I do water it down even if it is sugar free it’s easier for me to tolerate

  4. So I had surgery for the sleeve on 3/31. I guess in my head I didn’t feel like I would be in that much pain after but I was. The gas pains hurt so bad. It’s now the next day and they have me drinking Water mixed with apple juice. I have to stay 2 days because I had my goal bladder out also. Even through the pain I would do it all again.

I’m on day 4 of the pre-op liquid diet. I don’t want to scare you, but to manage your expectations, know it’s hard.

I have two Premier Protein shakes a day (sometimes I mix two flavors for variety).

Jello I got tons of variety, all sugar free of course. I have 10 calorie Jello brand, 5 calorie snack Pack, and 5 calorie Winky (40 minute trip to Walmart to find these). The nice thing about snack pack is you don’t have to store them in the fridge. I bought a case of them and put them in the fridge as needed. Winky has several flavors in each package which I like.

    sugar free popsicles.

Broth... lots of flavors! Low sodium chicken, vegetable, Trader Joe’s Miso Ginger (my favorite), Pho (tasted terrible but makes me nauseous and less hungry)

Bone Broth: Swanson sipping broths are fantastic! They are easy to drink from their own package and how I get additional Protein. They have lemon rosemary, Chinese 5 Spice, tumerick, etc. It’s a nice break from all of the sweets. Highly recommend.

Yesterday when I was freaking out about being hungry the nutritionist suggested eating ice chips. I blended my Protein Shake with ice once so that I could eat it with a spoon like ice cream. That was more filling. But, then I had an idea... snow cones!!! I have a snow cone maker for shaved ice. I also have zero calorie, sugar free snow cone syrups which the nutritionist approved, I was in heaven!!!!

im not a fan of Crystal Light, but that’s another option.

    Good luck!!!

Thank you so much for all the advice..I’m definitely going to look into it today when I go shopping for more stuff.

I"m starting mine on the 16th also! My sleeve surgery date is the 30th! I don't have any real advice yet obviously, but I am going to go shopping this weekend to get a bunch of Premier Protein, a variety of broths and some Jello. It seems like that is going to be the extent of it! I'm so so so nervous but so excited to be getting closer!

Yes the same with me March 30th.. I did go get some Protein Shakes and some powder I feel like this will be the hardest part lol.. I’m super excited to get it done.. I’m actually so excited I’m not even scared I just want it so bad. But I will think of you that day and keep you in my prayers. It’ll be neat to reach out to you after we are out of surgery.. ttys 😊
