I am so very sorry for your loss, Star Wars & Cupcakes.
I had gastric sleeve surgery on November 30th and very tragically lost my younger brother and only sibling on April 12th. The grief can be unbearable and I often feel so much anxiety that I want to crawl out of my skin. So I decided to join a running (for me, walk/run) group 5 Weeks to 5K training. I did it so that I could release some of this painful anxiety, sleep better, and be around a supportive group of people in beautiful nature (lucky me I get to run near the ocean and in redwood forests). I even got my 70 year old mom to join it with me! In addition to that I walk with both of my parents as much as I can. We are heartbroken, our lives changed forever so suddenly, and the exercise, nature, and supportive group of people has been very therapeutic.
(((HUGS))) Star Wars & Cupcakes, and thanks for starting this thread for other people to refer to in the future.Ninabnina77 reacted to this -

I just love seeing all of these photos of you beautiful and stylish people! 💜
Cheeseburgh, I am a 6th grade teacher and our school colors are navy and white. May I ask where you purchased your dresses? I'd like something navy (or navy and white) for the upcoming promotion ceremony. I haven't wore a dress in years!!!
Thank you.

Oh my gosh. I just posted AGAIN about another 3 week stall! 🤪 I did a search and found my own post. Anyway, hearing I am again, in another 3 week stall.

I had gastric sleeve on November 29th and have been the same weight for 3 weeks. Just want to either hear, Yes, that's normal, or if perhaps I need to reevaluate what I'm eating.
Thanks!

Hello everyone. I am wondering, on average, when weight loss stopped after gastric sleeve surgery?
Thank you.

Sigh. As usual, everyone here is correct. The stall ended after three weeks. Just posting the update for other people who search stories about stalls.

Hello everyone. On Tuesday, it will be 8 weeks since I had gastric sleeve surgery. I am having a long stall. It's been over two weeks where I keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. Is it normal to stall this long?
Thank you.

I was on the pre-op diet for a week before surgery and have lost a total of 28 lbs. I am so very happy because I can SEE and FEEL the difference, but the number of pounds and this current stall do kind of get me down a little bit.
I should add, though, boy am I ever feeling more satiated between meals! And food tastes so good! I really am feeling much better overall.

Last 4 weeks and I have lost only about 6 pounds. There was ofc 2 or 3 weeks of stall but even now my scale isn't budging much. It can get very frustrating and disappointing when it's only the beginning of the 2nd month. Le sigh, hope by the end of the month I can at least lose 10 pounds in total for this month, otherwise it would be highly disappointing 😭😭😭

Another vote for Unjury's chicken Soup flavored Protein Powder. So yummy, savory, and satisfying. I think that you can only order it online, but it was a lifesaver for me during pre-op and post-op.

Some suggestions:
Premier Protein makes a chocolate Peanut Butter shake and it is so tasty! Like drinking a peanut butter cup.
I make this hot chocolate (with Fairlife milk for protein). It tastes great!
Once I can eat solids, I will be eating these when I have a sweet tooth. So chewy and sweet. I like the chewy chocolate chip in particular.

I'm updating here because I know that when I have a question, I search the forums looking for content similar to what I'm going through.
My surgery was November 30th, which I think puts me in week 5, and although I can't just anything, I am definitely eating a lot more solid food and I have to say that I am way more satiated and full for much longer. So for anyone in the very early phases who might be feeling crazy hungry and discouraged, it's gets way better, very early on! Hang in there!

I had diarrhea for a while, some of it uncontrollable, after surgery. Could it be that?

Just thought I'd share a good recipe for the early stages (and beyond) that I made the other night. I skipped the lemon and mint and used sweet petit peas and it turned out so delish! Even my 7 year old loved it. Peas have a pretty good amount of Protein too.

Eating 600-700 calories every day and meeting my Protein goals and weight loss has slowed to a crawl going into week 4.
Anyone else have it happen? how many calories are you guys eating?
Yep. Same thing here with a stall. I am not counting my calories, but I have started to eat more than before. I was only able to eat 1/4 cup at a time and seem to be able to eat more now.

Hello. I cannot tell you when they subside, but I did/am experiencing the same thing (sleeve surgery 11/30/21). When I inquire about it, I am told that it might not be hunger pains, but it sure feels like it. I can tell you that once you can eat pureed/soft foods, you will feel fuller when you eat, but I still do get very hungry in between meals. It is getting slightly better.

So I am guessing they aren't too concerned about calories either. But I'll definitely bring it up during my dietician's appointment so I know what I'll be dealing with.
Hi Daisy & Sunshine. I asked, via email, my nutritionist about calories and she didn't answer. She answered other questions, but not the one about calories, so I am kind of assuming my program also doesn't count calories, nor really measurements for food, but I've figured out on my own that I can only eat about 1/4 cup of something at each meal.

7 minutes ago, OutdoorsGirl said:I make rolled oats in my instant pot and portion it out in one eighth cup servings. When I eat it, I usually mix it with a spoon of fat free Greek yogurt and a few frozen blueberries. I’m getting ready to make some more and freeze it since the portion size is so small. I started eating it at the purée/soft stage. I use Souper cubes for freezing foods in small portions.
You must be reading my mind!!! I am craving oatmeal soooooo badly right now and it's not on my list of approved foods for right now. I feel like it would go well, though. I need that fiber! During my first pregnancy I was borderline gestational diabetic and the nutritionist recommended that I eat oatmeal for breakfast (this is where my love of oatmeal began). I had to check my blood sugar during that time, and on the days I ate oatmeal, my numbers were so much better and I felt full for so many hours.

Hi AJB. I have no advice for you, rather a question. I have suspected that I am the inattentive type ADHD for a long time. How did you get diagnosed? Any suggestions?
Best of luck with online school and your novel!
