sooo nervous-surgery is on Wednesday
Brockbabe82 replied to dawnp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing the right thing. It is only human to be nervous, but do not let your fear keep you from this amazing life change. Nothing that is worthwhile is easy so remember that. Expect it to hurt a little, there may be gas, but think of what the future will bring because of this. Keep your head up and stay positive! Congrats on the start of a happier and healthier you! -
25, 200+ lbs. to lose, need someone who understands!
Brockbabe82 replied to AmyFritcher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Amy, There are definitely many of us out there who are going through the same thing you are. Number one you have to want to do this for you. Make your health your priority. There are also many of us who see a psych even after the surgery, which I believe helps witht the process. A lot of post op issues are related to "mental" issues with food, your mind tells you one thing, but your body tells you another. It is really hard to break habits, and EVERYONE goes through that. Search around and find a psych that you like, one who will help you. It might also help to see a nutritionist so you can come up with some better ideas then eating anything in site. As far as having support LBT is an amazing site that has some of the most supportive people I have ever met, use that. We all are connected here and have struggled with weight. I can also relate as far as the amount of weight to lose. I have about 250 lbs to lose, which seems crazy how I will ever do it. I try and break it into small goals, 10 lbs at a time and it seems to help. How about another fill, have you talked to your doctor about your issues? Maybe another fill will give you the headstart you will need. Any way I can help you I definitely will, email me any time. I wish you good luck on your journey, and remember we are all in this together! -
Congrats and good luck on the journey of a happier and healthier you!

4 more days can't come sooner
Brockbabe82 replied to Erin18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try adding some protein powder to your water so at least you are getting calories that way. Even though you feel lousy try getting up and moving more, that might help a little. I sure hope you get the answers you need. -

I'm back and banded :)
Brockbabe82 replied to bluetopaz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Try gas-x strips and make sure you are walking a lot, that will help you get rid of some of the gas. Good luck to both of you and congrats! -
Don't stress it, relax and enjoy your vacation!

planning to have lap band in a year
Brockbabe82 replied to Aspirant_Desire's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have seen anywhere from 3 months to 18 months. I think it really depends on your surgeon, and things like that. Call around your area and see what happens. Wishing you a happy rest of your pregnancy! -
Upper GI - Not so bad.
Brockbabe82 replied to nkara's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad everything went well. Wishing you a fast and easy rest of your journey! -
I am SO sorry this has happened to you! Have you thought about going to see another doctor? Maybe see if there is anything someone else can do. It is terrible that your surgeon is allowing you to live with this situation. Keep your head up and I'm sending positve and healthy vibes your way.

fill number 2(stuck food)
Brockbabe82 replied to nomebug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think almost everyone on here will say they experienced that. Chewing is crucial in not getting foods stuck, so try your hardest to make sure you are throughly chewing. Also when was your 2nd fill? It could be too early to have things like that. I hope your feeling better, and good luck to you. -
I can actually wear a seat belt in other people's cars without feeling like I am going to die of strangulation. lol

Frustrated about my weight loss thus far..
Brockbabe82 replied to sweetkissez42061's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is the me when you are going through bandster hell. Some people lose no weight until they get their first fill, others lose a little. It is different with everyone. Relax, recover, get your first fill and think positive. -
PostOp/ Tightening Breathing Problems/ Sleep Apnea
Brockbabe82 replied to laurielle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you discussed any of this with your surgeon? This does not sound normal, and it will probably be in your best interest to get it checked out! Good luck and keep us posted! -

I love all of these shows, especially Ruby! She is such an inspiring person, and it really motivates me when I watch her. I can relate to a lot of the struggles she has faced on her journey, and it gives me hope, hope for the future!
