    Cheated yesterday...

It is unrealistic to think we will do everything perfect all the time. Don't dwell to much on a little piece of pizza. Move forward, keep your head up, and todays a new day! Have a happy New Year!
  4. As far as getting the preocedure done, it was basically a 5 month process. After I did all my meetings, paperwork, testing, etc. As far as the actual procedure, it took probably about 2 1/2 hours, and I was the first surgery of the day. I stayed over night although most do not. It is typically a day stay surgery. Good luck, it has been the best decision of my life. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

    pvsa anyone?

Im so glad your surgery went well Renee!!!! I too had a horrific time with baystate! They were awful to me!!! They first could not get an IV in me , it took the head anestegiologist( spelling?) to get it , so I awoke with both hands and arms completely black and blue. If that wasn't enough, I had a roomate who cried the whole time and vomited every 10 seconds, she was an elderly woman who broke her hip. I could not be mad at the woman, but none the less it was interesting. I then had a CNA who figured I would be okay to get out of the bed myself to use the bathroom, I could barely move for a week, let alone right after surgery. I'm glad I had no complications but it definitely changed my perspective on baystate. Please keep us updated on your progress.

    Twenties NSVs

Well this is a minor Nsv but nonetheless I was excited. I hardly go out to eat anymore but decided to go out with my friend the other day. She chose the olive garden and I was bummed because I never could fit in the chairs, and I spent the whole time feeling like everyone knew it. Well the other night I went anyway and I actually fit in the chair and comfortably. I could sit and enjoy my time and it was one of those moments where you think this is why I did this. Keep up the good work guys!

    Weight gain after 2nd fill

Hello Kitten, First and foremost congrats on being banded, it takes a lot of guts to get to that point, so good for you. I can totally relate to the snacking thing. I have always been a grazer, picker, whatever you wanna call it. Even up until the last couple of months I have had difficulties with that. I finally made that decision that I HAD TO CHANGE. There was no one there to tell me not to eat that chip or that scoop of ice cream, I had to do it for myself. I have also incorporated daily exercise in the last month. I needed to get moving, I held off for a long time with that, and now that I am moving I feel wonderful! I now try to eat three small meals a day with two snacks (try to have it be protein) and that is really helping. I drink a lot of water and am trying to stay away from the picking. Although I have lost some weight I still have a life long battle to fight and I know that means staying away from my bad habits. As far as words of wisdom I think you know what you need to do. Try and avoid problem areas such as grazing, and junk food. Easier said then done I know, but you have to want to succeed bad enough and that should taste better then any junk. Are you exercising, walking, riding a bike , gym? That has helped me immensly. The lapband is a tool and it took me a while to understand it is not going to do the work for me. I wish you luck and remember we are all here for each other. Email me if you ever need someone to talk to. Keep your head up !
