    New Here

You want to make sure that you are trying to stick to the preop diet because it helps in shrinking your liver. If your liver is too fatty it can obstruct the surgery from being done. I know it is hard but focus your attention on something else, like picking out a new wardrobe from when you are at goal. Good luck to you and let us know how surgery goes!:bored:
  3. Congrats on the start of a happier , healthier you!

    Awful taste after eating

Congrats on the 20 lbs! As far as the taste after you eat, that is really weird. I know my taste buds have changed since surgery. Things I once loved I can't stand anymore. Consult with your doc , just in case. Good luck!

How do you maintain the Energy needed to exercise.

I know personally I get enery to exercise by eating a good deal of protein. A workout will be tough if you are not getting in the right amount of nutrients. Good luck to you.

    Does DH's opinion matter?

I think it is very important that you have support during this time. It is unfortunate that your husband is not doing that. Here is what I think though, making the decision to have the lapband is one of the best decisions you will ever make. You are being an advocate for your own health, something that no one else can do for you. With that said you need to do this and not worry on what your husband or anyone else thinks. Does you husband realize the risks for staying overweight are far greater then the risks for getting banded? You should have him check out this site, and talk to a couple of us. Although is sad that he cannot support you remember there are so many of us struggling witht the same things, and we are all here to support each other. Good luck to you and remember this is your decision! Keep me posted.
  12. Congrats, you should be sooooooo proud of yourself. That is some definite motivation. Enjoy and bask in this wonderful moment. Keep up the GREAT work.

    Need some advise

You definitely should get in to see your doc. Hair loss is a definite sign of lack of protein and vitamins. Are you exercising? That could be a problem with the halt of weightloss. Are you following all the lapband rules, no eating or drinking at the same time, etc? If you are doing eveything right, then you need a doctors opinion on what is going on. Good luck to you!

    need help?

If you are nervous about getting a fill, the I would would just plan to spend a portion of my day in pakistan exercising. I would make sure I am diligent at following all the lapband rules, and making surei get some exercise going. Even if you have to do pushups, jog in place, climb stairs, etc. movement will help. I wish you the best of luck!

i got my lapband done 3 days ago

I hear you on the sleeping thing ! I literally slept or tried to sleep in my recliner for 1 month posy op. Seriously 1 month!
  18. you shouldn't drink with meals because it pushes food through your stomach faster. You stay fuller faster, and you do not eat as much if you are notating and drinking at the same time. I am surprised your doc did not have that be part of your guidelines. Good luck to you!

    Help????

Have you tried carnation instant breakfast no sugar added? its the better of protein shakes, even though they are still awful. I have heard that you can buy protein powder that is flavorless, and add it to pudding, cottage cheese, etc. ope that helps. Good luck
  21. Welcome to LBT. As far as weight loss per month goes; my doc wants to see you lose 1-2 pounds per week, although some lose more and some lose less. Good luck to you and I hope you get your approval really soon.

My first solid meal since being banded...

When I make a meal I weigh each individual product and add it together. Your method sounds fine though. Glad our sandwich tasted good, feels good to eat solid food again too, huh?lol Good luck to you!
