    Fustrated beyond belief~

I am sorry you are having such a tough time. It sounds as if you are not eating enough. I know its frustrating that you cannot eat in the morning but try and sneak in some more protein in your day. You sound like you are doing great and the wii fit is wonderful. Even if you are jogging in place in your house, walking up and down the stairs, it's exercise. If you continue to not lose weight and you are exercising then maybe you should contact a nutritionist and see if they can help you. Also support groups at local hospitals are wonderful because I am sure you are not the only one with this problem. Keep your head up and I hope everything gets better for you.
  3. for me people started to notice at about 20 pounds. The only thing is when people know you have the surgery they tend to ask you how much you have lost all the time. It drives me nuts. Ask me once a month not every other day.lol

    February9th Bandster

I was in major, I mean major pain for about a month after surgery. I mean it was to the point that I could not sleep in a bed because my side hurt so bad. Thank god for the recliner. After about a moth or so I was back to normal but it definitely surprised me on how hard my recovery was.

    Afraid to loose weight pre-op

I don't think you will have any problems with them taking an approval back. Most of us have to go through a diet with a nutritionist even if some barely made the cut off. The doc's want to make sure that you can lose the weight and follow a diet.

    weight limit

I don't know about all surgeons but my doc made me lose weight till I was under 400 lbs. He refused to do the surgery until then because he said there were major risks for high bmi's.

    March 9th!!!

I am happy that they approved you. As far as the hospital goes I would not bring anything valuable, jewerly, purse, etc. I would bring pj's slippers, chap stick, and that's it. You really will not need much. Good luck to you and please keep in touch.

Anyone been punched where their port is?

For one of my jobs I care for an autistic 11 year old. One afternoon recently he accidently kicked me in the port site. I guess it would probably be like kicking a man in his area. lol. not fun.

    My silly little head.....

accountability is one of the hardest things to deal with. Congrats on being able to identify your issues. Maybe you could try and see a nutritionist so they can help you identify your problem areas. Are you exercising? If not that could be part of the halt in your weight loss. Either way you are taking the right step in knowing that you do have a problem , whatever it may be. Wishing you health and happiness.

    now i have sleep apnea

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. Sleep apnea is one of those issues that aid in being approved for surgery, so that may help speed the process up. I am wishing you health and happiness , and hope to hear that you have your surgery very soon.

    Am I Too Tight?

I am not really sure of what kind of advice to give you here except that you definitely need to let your doctor know today what is going on. He may be able to help you fix this problem. Being sick like that for months and months is not good and you want to make sure that there is not more going on then whats on the surface. Good luck to you hun, sending good vibes your way for a quick fix.

    newbie!

I originally planned on taking 6 days off of work from 2 demandingly physical jobs. I intended on going back to school 4 days after surgery and that never happened either. I ended up taking 2 weeks of of work and a week from school. I started to feel a little like myself by day 10. If I hadn't had someone there with me I would have been in tough shape. But do remember that everyone is different and recovery is very different in every single person. I do wish you luck and congrats on starting a happier and healthier future.

    Is it possible

I am really not sure that a fall could mover your band, but I do think that you need to get checked. Call your surgeon and get in asap. I know I have had issues where if I hold something really heavy or lift things I get a pulling sensation where my port is. My surgeon said not to worry that it is just scar tissue. As far as your pain maybe you pulled some scar tissue. As far as the restriction you should definitely get seen. Good luck and I hope you feel better and get your answers.

    Do I need a fill?

Becky, Number 1 don't be ashamed to go to the doctor. They are doctor's they see this kind of thing everyday. You sound like you need a fill but you do need to try and incorporate some exercise into your week. The band is a tool, a tool that you must work with as well. Exercise has to be a piece of this tool, and most would agree with me on that. Congrats on being an advocate for your health and identifying that you have a problem but don't let embarrasment hinder you from getting the things you need. Good luck and remember we are all here for support.
