  1. Opps, that reply belonged in another topic... Sorry! Thanks for the gelatin tips though.
  2. Banded 07/03/08 Ive lost 163 lbs, 30 more to goal! I just turned 55.
  3. No, just the last few weeks. my last fill was in January. I immediately espinded to your word "gnawing" because that was indeed a good description for it. I can eat for days, then sudeenly nothing works for a few days. I might go get a looked at, just to be sure it is in place and all is well.
  4. I know the feeling, have it right now. Sort of a burning. not really hungry, I was sick at dinner a few hours ago. It is unsettling, and I will chew a pepto tablet to see if it goes away. I can not eat late or will have problems in the night.
  5. My band has it days... sometimes too tight, sometimes not tight enough. I've learned to pretty much relax and go with it. BUT, I'm not having back pain or any other pain issues. I once was so tight I couldn't get fluids in, and that was too darn tight. Please talk to your doctor and if he unfills you to 8cc, then look for other answers like low carb, more exercise to help get you through. Sometimes you have to give yourself and your band a little time off, and that has often been the "cure" for the very few issues I've had.
  6. Be patient with yourself, start following the surgeon's advice. Eat real food, not much of it. Don't drink your calories, soda won't do anything good for you! I was a very slow starter, but I found my groove and have been losing steadily once I had the proper amount of restriction.

i've been at 195 for about 2 weeks now, feels great to be in "onederland"! Saw casual friends last weekend, they had not seen me lately and the exclamations and good natured teasing all weekend made me feel great. I feel like me again, and look a whole lot more like myself too. :smile2: Size 18's are getting a wee big! Woohoo, I never dreamed life could be so good.
  8. Glad you are feeling a little better about your surgery. I think I know how you feel. I kept my finger on the "call it off" option up until the happy juice they slipped in my IV pre-op. I looked hard at gastric bypass and more than once during this journey I admit I sort of wished I had gone that way, except - I expect to have the same success if I had and my new life has been easier to get used to by losing slowly and steadily. There will be some struggles, but be patient with yourself, your doctors and seek support when you need it. food has been such a crutch in my life, now it is less a crutch and more like nutrutional support. Good luck to you, we are here for you on your journey when you need us.
  9. Sure, I can encourage you. If you want a tool to help you lose lots of weight and are willing to learn how to eat, and exercise, and live a little differently, then by all means have the surgery! I'm overfilled right now and pretty miserable but it is part of the learning experience. It can be settled pretty soon and then I'll do more of the work. That's why I chose the lapband. Either I can do the majority of the work, or the band can, but I get to choose. :frown:
  10. Puking at 70 mph on the interstate, yup I've done it too... now my (new to me) car is a FoodFree Zone! Not proud of it, but my learning curve has been steep and almost entirely trial and error.
  11. 9-16-08 = 270 1-4-09 = 261 3-13-09 = 256 6-30-09 = 260 7-03-09 = 251 10-2-09 = 244 10-22-09 = 240 12-22-09 = 227 2-28-10 = 224 3-7-10= 216

  13. Hi all, I want to hang with the positive people! Feeling good, working out and it is paying off, I'll get to my goal, one day at a time!
  14. I am too tight, might go back on Tuesday for an unfil and in the meantime, trying frozen sugar free popsicles to stay hydrated.
  15. I got scared because I ate a whole can of Chunky soup... geez... So, now I am 'overfilled' - can't sleep for the acid reflux I have, can't keep water down, have zero energy, but I'm walking and working out anyway. Love the weight loss though. :tt1:

  17. Hey, I need a meeting! Is the group still meeting? When?
  18. The benefiber I add to everything isn't working...
  19. I need some help, and don't want to depend on a laxative all the time. How/What are you eating to keep you regular?
  20. Awww, slime. I sorta miss the slime. :smile2: Maybe you were a little full when the liquids went down, and well... what doesn't go down -comes back up!
  21. You look amazing! Thanks for the encouragment, it is exactly what I'm needing. This plateau is starting to budge, and I'm feeling like someday I'll have a SUCCESS story and FABO picture too! Good job!
  22. Have had 2 small fills, 256 today. I can feel myself slipping a bit, so another fill in 2 weeks. Sure hope I can maintain the loss, but it is getting harder to resist the easy food.

I feel yuck this morning. For some reason I thought tuna fish would be a good thing to eat at 2:00 a.m. - with olives in it. Geesh, the lost sleep and pain is exactly what I deserved. Anyway, I've heard bandsters talk about having a tight band in the morning. I get what they mean now. Tight, nothing I want. Even coffee won't go down. Guess I'll have to take the immersion blender with me to work this morning because I will want my protein shake about 10 a.m.! The buttered popcorn I had at the movie last night was gross. I must have eaten 3 cups and my hands were terribly greasy. Could have done without that.
