Lying about not getting surgery is awful
Chantrella replied to GinormousReislin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I agree with you. I’m going to continue not to tell we all have a right to medical privacy. As long as we are supportive of others what we decide to do has no effect on others. -
How did everything go?

Surgery Scheduled and Telling No One
Chantrella replied to ShanIAmVA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lol I agree I was 268 when I started my leave from work I’m now at a 215 stall. I go back 5/10. I’m looking forward to people’s reactions. -
Emotional and Stressed 5 days out
Chantrella replied to Incredibleshrinkiningkiley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel! I had surgery 3/3 and then a week later surgery again dr obstructed my bowels. The one person I told made me feel bad for having it my boyfriend. I had a lot of minor complications excess saliva, couldn’t drink anything, dehydration. I was admitted to the hospital 3 times after surgery. The good news is after the internal swelling goes down week 6-8 it gets easier. Please relax keep a water handy. It will definitely get easier the surgery puts our bodies in shock for a few weeks. -
Surgery Scheduled and Telling No One

I didn’t tell anyone but my boyfriend. Not even work knows. I just told my boss I was having surgery on 3/3 and that’s it. I’m not telling anyone either. -
Has anyone regretted getting the surgery?
Chantrella replied to Roses436's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, I had complications my surgeon accidentally obstructed my bowels so a week later I had emergency surgery, I was producing excess saliva, I couldn’t take in any fluids and my body no longer can tolerate artificial sweeteners. I couldn’t drink my favorite thing in the world like I wanted to anymore, water. I am now on May 3rd going to make 2 months out! I want to say 2 weeks ago everything got better fluids started rolling in. No more nasty taste in mouth no more excessive saliva. I no longer have diabetes and I crave healthy food. I’m getting my fluids in and I can drink my water cold and get through 20 ounces in 30-45 mins. So yes I regretted it at one point but now I don’t. Everyone reacts to the surgery differently if you do have a hard time after just let your body heal and it will get better. -
Yeah 54 but remember I had bowel obstruction I think that pulled the extra weight off. 30 pounds is amazing we haven’t even hit two months yet!

I’m doing great I’m at a stall I lost 54 pounds after surgery and been at a stall for 2 weeks grrrr. I hit my protein almost daily with chicken, beans, nuts, and of course protein shakes. Water is becoming so easy to drink now think God but I’m not at 64oz yet more like 30-50 a day. Calories are 600-700 a day sometimes it’s less if I’m craving veggies. I’m thinking about going vegetarian when I’m in maintenance I’m starting to hate meat. I can no longer eat artificial sweeteners so I invested in monk fruit extract and drink water which is a bit boring. I’m trying to find a good gym. I am very thankful for God getting me through because there were times I was in so much pain and dehydrated. I regretted the surgery at one point because I couldn’t drink water but now it’s improving! How much have you lost since surgery? It’s good you haven’t hit a stall 😞

Hey, just following up with you. I know we had our surgeries the same day. How is everything going this far out?

When your program says it’s ok to eat ground beef then yes you can have a hamburger no bun of course, but make sure it’s not fried hard and it’s lean. My tummy was able to tolerate it, but I just wanted to see if it would tolerate ground beef. I’m really not a ground beef eater.

I hope you have a speedy recovery. After the surgery was a rough road for me but once the swelling goes down things start to flow!

Yes, my doctor told me RNY is better for diabetes and that’s why I chose that one over sleeve. I’m loving the readings after and before meal and most importantly fasting sugars are great! No more lows!

Hello, I had surgery 3/3( gastric bypass) then bowel obstruction surgery on 3/12( surgeon obstructed my bowels during the first surgery). Yesterday I made 6 weeks and I’ve been good with my food no vomiting but I measure everything and I learned yesterday when my nose starts to run stop eating( lol). The only meats I’ve tried so far is chicken and salmon. I’m terrified of eggs( I’ve heard horror stories). I’m still working on getting my fluid in I literally sip all day in between meals and still can’t get to 64oz. Maybe tomorrow I’ll start waking up at 5:30am. I’ve lost 44 pounds since surgery and 54 all together. This week I hit a stal 😞 probably because I’ve been housebound from all the rain. I’m still working on getting protein and calories up it’s hard when you are not hungry 😞. I hope everyone is doing great on their journey and I would love to hear where others stand ❤️.

I finally tried them and they are hell going down lol so I took them out of my diet

So sorry, She needs to admit you and run test. This surgery screwed me all up too lol I can no longer take artificial sweeteners( been a diabetic for 4 years and had no problem before) the artificial sweeteners bloat me so bad and cause soooo much pain. I can tolerate everything else. I went through a rough patch too week 1-4. I pray you get some kind of relief.

How long did you have to wait for your initial consult?
Chantrella replied to DoodlesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to wait 5 months called in May was scheduled October 1st 2020. -
I’ve only had vomiting and nausea when they obstructed my biles after RNY. Definitely not trying to scare just responding to your question. Make sure you are taking small sips. If your nausea and vomiting keeps happening please call your surgeon.

Hello All, please share the name brand of the vitamins you take especially calcium citrate. I’m just 3 weeks out and having a hard time finding vitamins I like and capsules don’t sit right with me right now.

Omg!!! You’re on to meat! You’re so blessed Sunday I start cooked green beans, spinach, pinto beans and that’s it. Then the week after that I add melba toast.

I "snuck" having WLS
Chantrella replied to chiquitatummy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only told my boyfriend we live together. I just told my job I had to have surgery and submitted the required documentation to the outside department that handles leaves of absences. I didn’t tell my family because this is my journey and I want it to be free of everyone’s ones opinions.
