    *Waves*

Hi Jenny, welcome to Lab Band Land. :welcome: I'm new also, although I am definitely having the band done. I'm still trying to find my way around in here also! Everyone is very helpful. I'm still trying to figure out the abbreviations for everything. I'm doing OK on that for the most part, every once in a while they stump me though. Good luck with your decision.

    Got 1st negative remark...

I agree - jealous! If she is a good friend I would talk to her, she may not realize that she is hurting your feelings. If it continues then you will have to re-think the situation. A friend of mine had gastric by-pass and at lunch one day someone else said that she was losing weight but not the "easy" way. The other girl said that there was nothing about gastric by-pass that was easy and if she could have done it any other way she would have. The 2nd girl backed up and realized what she said and how it might have sounded. End of conversation.

    3-12-06

OK, I had my Dr. appt. this week. Now I am set up for blood work on 3-15 and diet consult on 3-22-06. Then I have to wait for the insurance stuff I guess. I paid my down payment so I'm on my way! Exciting and scary! I have wanted to eat everything in sight. I am suppose to lose between 15 and 30 lbs. by surgery time. YIKES! Not doing real good so far. Went to Shoney's Friday for seafood. Had some fried stuff. Should have eaten more crab legs, but that means more butter. Sigh...:rolleyes Last night went to El Sazon had chicken soup which wasn't too bad but ate a basket full of chips and cheese dip. Going to Lemon Grass tonight for Scott's birthday. Probably won't do to bad there. Had a McDonald's Grilled Chicken Sandwich - no fries - for lunch. Chewed gum today so I haven't been too hungry today. Gum helps - gives me something to do with my mouth. I had 2 panic attacks this week, lasted a couple of minutes then went away. I just sat down and waited for it to go away. Pretty good mood today.

    The Gone for Good Club

Thanks so much for your comments PhotoNut. Yes, I do want to eat everything before it goes away. Dumb way to feel!! It's like I'm trying to put something over on myself after all.:phanvan I have been trying to cut down on snacking or making better choices at least. I have thought about doing 1 or 2 days a week on liquids to kind of jump start myself. I am a grazer and this is going to be quite something to break. I answer the phone at a car dealership at my 2nd job and I just sit. I usually take a salad with me to work for dinner because 4:00 is too early to eat and 8:00 is too late. I'll keep hanging in there and keep reading LBT for ideas and inspiration. I do need to realize what I have done so far:clap2:. I quit smoking in January, am trying to make better choices for myself, stopped drinking soda's, am trying not to drink when I eat, and had my first Dr. appt. for lap-band surgery! That's a start! Actually, that's quit a bit for 1 1/2 months. :teeth:

    The Gone for Good Club

Hi, my name is Carol. I am 55, divorced, 3 grown children and 4 precious grandchildren. 2 girls and 2 boys. Meme is the greatest sounding word in the English language!! I had my first Dr. appt. this week on my way to being a lap-bander. Next week I go in for my blood work and upper GI. I'm having trouble with the pre-band losing. I just want to eat everything I can get my hands on. This forum helps me when I really want to eat. I just can't always get to it when I need to. I work 2 jobs, one full time, one part time. Eating is difficult with the 2 jobs. I want to do this, this time!! H 304 C 297
  7. Hi, I'm new also. I have had my first Dr. appt. this week. Now I'm getting anxious and want to eat anything and everything in sight. I worry that the band will not be enough for me also. I can't even seem to reduce what I eat enough to lose weight before the surgery. Is this just nerves? Will things be better after the surgery? I am trying not to drink with meals because I know how important this is, but I have always drank a lot with meals. This is a very hard thing to break. How do you deal with the "head hunger"?

    appt. set

:clap2: Yea!! I got my appt. set up today. They had a cancellation this Thursday and I got it. 3/9/2006 I'm excited and scared also. It helped me to throw back some candy that I had gotten out of the dish at school today. Can't wait!!

    Snoring - help!

I couldn't tell that the throat spray helped me much. It might be worth a try though. I haven't been banded yet and I have trouble with snoring also. My Dr. recomended a mandibular repositioning device. It moves your lower jaw forward and keeps your teeth separated some. You can get them on line for about $30 rather than from the dentist for about $500. I haven't ordered one yet but am going to try it. Good Luck:notagree
