  1. Congrats!
lorettacv got a reaction from Laurie C. in Any 45+ year old women on here with gastric bypass experience?
I’m 55+, RNY 10/2020. Down 130 lbs and celebrating all the things that I can do again… walk for 30 minutes, go up 70 stairs, sit in a seat at the baseball stadium, pick up things I’ve dropped… Celebrate every day!

lorettacv got a reaction from mswillis5 in Has anyone regretted getting the surgery?
I had a similar experience- I went through 90% of the pre op requirements and stopped because of negative support from some doctors and friends and my own fears. A year and a half later I started again. It took me 13 months because of COVID to complete the pre op and get a surgery date for gastric bypass. It’s been 6 months and I’m down 62 lbs. I’m eating high Protein low carb. When traveling I go to McD for egg McMuffin and toss the muffin. I try all fruits, vegetables and meats. I skip things like steak because I don’t like the way the first bite feels in my mouth or stomach. Thankfully meatballs are ok! I even drink wine. Yes, my old lifestyle changed but it’s been worth the improvements in my physical abilities and outlook. Good luck!

    1. Who moved my car seat back? Oh, nobody. My butt is smaller and I'm sitting further back.
    2. What? Do gold necklaces stretch? Oh, no. My neck just got smaller and now the chain looks longer.
    3. Painting my own toenails.
    4. Fitting in most any chair.
    5. Not worrying about getting stuck in chairs with arms.
    6. Not worrying about a chair breaking (mostly outdoor chairs). Been there, done that.
  9. Congrats!

Being able to help my husband build our new fence. I wouldn’t have been able to help much a year ago. Not sure if this is really a good thing 🙄😂

I also love being able to fold into smaller spaces.

A lot more space between my tummy and the steering wheel, much roomier chairs.

Idk about weird but it was surprising when the towel fit around me again without a gap.

Today I had an unexpected and surprisingly satisfying NSV. I noticed that my belly button shrank. It's about 50% shallower than it used to be! Who knew I would be so pleased about less depth to my belly button? 😆
