unless you're the size of someone on "My 600 lb Life", the chances of you losing 15 lbs a week is pretty minute. Most "normal" WLS patients lose somewhere in the 15-25 lb range the first month - and it slows down after that. Of course, you'll always find outliers who lose more or less than that, but that seems to be about the norm for month #1. So you're perfectly normal - well actually, a bit ahead of the game.

P.S. I don't know where you're looking on this forum where you're seeing people losing 15 lbs a week. I've never seen that, and I've been hanging out here for five years.

I agree, 30 lbs. in just over a month is really good. Results are not always the same for a lot of people, but you are on the right track.

They do say comparison is the thief of joy.
30lb in just over a month seems pretty good to me. You are doing great and are likely above average.
No doubt there may be some people who would have lost more in the first month but I can guarantee there are many many others who lost a lot less than that.
Weight loss in the first month is dependent on many things, surgery day weight, weight loss in the few weeks before surgery (if you've lost a lot then, don't expect to lose a lot in the first few weeks post op), gender, height, activity levels, surgery type, medical history/medication, post op diet as specifed by surgeon/dietician.
