    Scale

One question... Is your water % in what you'd consider a normal range for the amount you drink? Mine seems to hover around 27% which is low, but I drink SO. MUCH. WATER. Like yesterday I had over a gallon (I am still pre-op) throughout the day, and that is pretty typical. Wonder if it's because the surrounding air is so dry here (my indoor humidity gauge has ranged from 1 - yes, 1 - to 12%) I simply cannot choke down any more water LOL... Makes me concerned about hydration post-op. I'll be doing nothing but drinking all day.

    Plastic Surgery Cost

It's fascinating to me, too, and I'm not even planning on getting PS (I just like seeing other people's experiences). I'm pre-op (vsg) currently, and I almost wonder if I can ask for my stomach. LOL (Now I'm wondering if anyone has ever asked that...) You look amazing!

    That's awesome! Congrats!

    Mexican Food

There seem to be some key words that trigger web links in posts, and those web links are what show the little earth icon in the preview. What *I* wanna know is why the last word in some posts seem to be a lot smaller and italic. [emoji1787]
  5. Welcome! 😊 I'm not sure what you mean by how much time to give yourself before the meal? Also, does your nut have an email where you can contact them? I sent mine an email with several questions, and she answered them all in a couple hours. I do hope you have that option as well.

    November 2020 sleevers

Another Scorpio on the 2nd (like me! 😁) My birthday is during my pre-op diet. Boooooo!

    Yogurt...

I am not post-op yet, but I am preparing I got a Dannon Light & FIT yogurt today to see what it was like. I am used to full-fat, regular sugar yogurts, which I enjoy. THIS, however, was WAY too sweet (I assume the artificial sweetener makes it that way.) Has anyone put some type of flavoring (SF syrups in small amounts or something similar) into plain yogurt, and is it palatable for someone who *doesn't* generally like plain yogurt? I dunno if I will be able to choke down the pre-made SF yogurts Especially when I see most folks think things are too sweet post-op. I think it is too sweet NOW.

Psych Test -did u have to take one?

@SAS11 you are lucky! My psych eval was nearly 700 bucks, and that is WITH insurance paying part. 😳 A regular psychiatrist appt is a $25 copay. They said it was because it was an involved diagnostic, like an MRI, not therapeutic.

Interesting video, @GreenTealael. Thank you for sharing it

    I'm scared

Anyone who says that this is the "easy way out" hasn't looked into it at all. It's a common misconception, though, so I understand totally. Maybe just don't tell folks that don't really need to know. Or say you're going to be starting a strict, doctor-supervised weight loss plan (this isn't a lie...) I will be having my sleeve on November 2. Hang in there, and remember, you're not alone.

Psych Test -did u have to take one?

I was pretty honest in mine, and I remember I answered true to the grey parts in law question as well I am not a fan of absolutes, and was really annoyed that it was a True/False only. If it was a scale ("Always True, Usually True, Equal True/False, Usually False, Always False" or something), I would have been less annoyed

    Yogurt...

I have seen it in Walmart and wondered about it. From what I remember, it was kinda pricey for yogurt, but since there's no way I'd be able to eat the entire container in one sitting post-op, it may be worth it. I will buy one as a sample next time I go to the store. Thanks!
  13. So I start my pre-op diet on October 23. I plan on having my last hurrahs before then (certain foods I will likely not be able to eat, as they are, again), but I am really concerned about how I am going to not starve on the actual POD. 😁 I know I will get used to it after a few days, but those FIRST few days... ouch. I do have a few (literally 3) phentermine left over from a past diet attempt... those would probably get me "over the hump" a bit, but I don't know if I should risk taking those and having them come up as meth or something on my pre-surgery labs on the 28th (surgery is November 2). Any tips for getting through, when you are normally hungry ALL. THE. TIME?! 😔

Ooh, blending fruit in might work... Thank you, @Arabesque 😊

    Yogurt...

LOL I'm hugely picky as well. I'm fine with the nonfat yogurts, but this sugar-free stuff is 🤢 I just am not sure I should be eating the kind with actual sugar. I'll talk to the dietician.

Tips for surviving the pre-op diet

I can't seem to find my paperwork at the moment (grrrr!) but mine allows some food, just WAY smaller amounts than I am used to (1 egg, with like 1/2 c fruit, as opposed to a 3 egg ham and cheese omelet with toast, for example), and some meals protein shakes. My body is going to go AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGH! 😂

Psych Test -did u have to take one?

I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork for the psych eval (like 15 pages). Then, I took two online tests that were a total of about 500 questions, and they were completely ridiculous. All true/false, and a lot of them, in my mind, were like, "well, SOMETIMES this is true, but OTHER times, it is false..." so it took a while to decide which I wanted to choose. My personal favorite one was something like, "I sometimes laugh at dirty jokes." I'm sorry, but what kind of boring life do you have to lead to NEVER laugh at dirty jokes? After that, I had a google hangouts meeting with the psych, who asked questions about my support system and whatnot. I passed, so... I guess I am sane? 🤣

    Scale

My scale arrived today, and it's really cool. Thanks again for the suggestion. If anyone is looking for a scale, this one is on sale AND has a $10 off coupon right now on Amazon. It cost me about $18. Sent from my SM-T290 using BariatricPal mobile app

Congrats! I look forward to following your journey. I hope I have the same great experience next month [emoji3531]

    Pre-op is NOT liquids

Yes, it seems like every surgeon has a different plan, so yours is normal [emoji4] Mine will be 10 days, and is basically low carb, low calorie.
  23. GivinItMyALL

    Anyone else stalling?

I haven't had surgery yet, but from reading the forums for research, it seems the 3 week stall is a thing. If you search for 3 week stall on here, you get a ton of hits. You'll break through it [emoji3531]

    November 2020 sleevers

I don't start mine until the 23rd, and the dietician told me to not start earlier (noooo problem! LOL) The paperwork is in the other room, but from what I remember, it's low carb, low calorie. Some foods, but not much. I'm glad it isn't liquids only, like a lot of folks'. I dunno how you all survive on that (afterward, sure... Before? [emoji15])
