  1. Ok. I really thought I was going to get a pass on this hair loss thing. I have long, thick hair and it was doing fine until last week. I neglected to read in previous post it starts at about 3 months post op. So if your hair has started falling out, now is the time. I was just getting over my last c-section hair loss. I should have known. Thinking about chopping it all off.
  2. Is there a true one a day multivitamin for sleeve patients? The ones I have gotten are twice a day and I keep forgetting the evening one because I get off track with my calcium during the day.
  3. 2 months but only a baby slice. I used to be able to eat 5 slices for reference.
  4. So I have viral pharyngitis. It’s basically strep throat without the strep bacteria. Today is day three. It’s the worst. I’m 6 weeks out from a gastric sleeve. I only got one protein shake, and two bites of dinner yesterday. Today I’m 1/3 of the way through a Gatorade zero. Things are getting dire. Dehydration is a real threat in the coming days if I can’t get fluids down because of my throat pain and nausea. I tried the throat numbing lozenges but they don’t work and make me nauseous. I tried Tylenol to no improvement. In the past ibuprofen worked but I can’t take that anymore. I just downed a zofran, a Pepcid, and a left over norco. Any other advise? I go back to work tomorrow and I’ll be damned if I’m calling in. Though with Covid they might not let me in.
  5. Starting to lose again after another stall. I was supposed to go back to work tomorrow but I caught a virus. Going to go get COVID tested. Probably won’t go back until Tuesday now.
  6. Does anyone find themselves with hiccups a lot? I find after I eat, a lot of times I get the hiccups. It could be my hiatal hernia repair and not the sleeve.
  7. Thank you for the reassurance. We will see what tomorrow brings I guess.
  8. My surgeon cleared me yesterday to start working out. I went ahead and got my 10000 steps and did some squats, jumps, and knee highs. Nothing too strenuous. I also upped my water a bit. Today I gained almost a pound. I just finished a stall so this is a bit stressful. My question is will this even out or do I need to be doing something extra?
  9. Yes my “appetite” varies quite a bit. I hit another stall after losing 2 more pounds. Maybe I will switch to weighing once a week as well.
  10. I hit my first stall a week and a half ago. I just started losing again this morning. I knew it was going to happen based on others posts but it was still stressful. I’m a little over a month out. I’m now down 17 pounds down. I really want to hit the 20 pound mark before going back to work.
  11. I’m almost at the end of my endurance. Surgery 12/3. I’m down over 15 pounds. I’m still on liquids per my surgeon. I’m getting my water, my vitamins, and half my calcium. I just started having episodes of tachycardia and today left shoulder pain. Can a leak occur at three weeks out? I’m seeing my surgeon tomorrow but I really feel close to tears. I just want to eat some sort of dinner with the family.
  12. OMG! Tylenol is now making a dissolvable form. They taste like pixie sticks. I’m tolerating fine after VSG.
  13. That is so upsetting. Hang in there. It will happen. Stay focused.
  14. I’m with you. So tired all day. Up easily until 10pm.
  15. Surgery 12/3. Still on full liquids. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well and the surgeon said I had to wait to advance until I saw him on 12/16.
  16. Mine was done laparoscopic. I’m doing well other than one incision. It constantly burns sharply whenever I walk. I’m not sure whether to walk through the pain or take it easy. If it wasn’t for that I would be off the norco.
  17. For reference I would say this is worse than a gallbladder removal but easier than a c-section. Right now I just have to deal with stomach spasms.
  18. I’m home from Surgery. A little over 24 hours in the hospital. Just chewed up a Pepcid and a norco and going to take a nap before everyone is home for the day. Shoulder pain is almost gone. Incision pain is not bad unless a twist or bend over.... lift with your legs.
  19. Day 2 pain is under control. Feeling pretty good for just having surgery. Tolerating my post op liquid diet. They gave me some Apple Cinnamon tea. It is delicious. PS my hunger is really gone for now.
  20. I’m in the hospital now. I have heard no talk of shutting things down. Fingers crossed for you guys.
  21. For those on here worried, despite what the media says, I have heard no talk of postponing surgeries.
  22. Mine was also Davinci assisted. Must be becoming the new norm. Didn’t even notice until I was signing my consent. Looks like I might get out tomorrow morning. This has been going great. I’m recovering pretty quickly. They also did a hiatal hernia repair. I’m an RN and really just amazed the nursing staff is not just burnt out from COVID.
  23. Checked in at 9. Surgery around 1130. I didn’t become cognizant of time until about 5pm. Pain meds on board. Nausea meds on board. Using my incentive spirometer. Walking also also really nice.
