Homemade pizza on whole wheat and only veggies, no sugar Tomato paste or sauce, with a reduced cheese may be ok since I made some, but the thing is you cant really eat much anyways but at least what you eat will be healthy and the family too!

I am finally home! I got surgery April 1st thursday, they kept me in hospital till April 4th! Easter morning I was released! crazy thing is that I had more nausea than pain! I couldn't tell since I was so sleepy, tired what was really bothering me but it was nausea. I couldnt tolerate anything liquids but then by saturday night sunday morning I was drinking normal no nausea. the nausea felt like when you go on a spinning ride, for me it was hard because I avoid those rides for that reason I am far too sensitive. I am home though I did it! I am happy although it might not show because I am ssssssssssssssso tired sleepy. after 10 years of trying to get this surgery, I tried with Kaiser, I thought maybe if I have to go to six month 3 hour dietitian course with other bariatric pals, I will do it (but no) I chickened out. Then I tried with another surgery doctor in Arcadia , I thought maybe if I pay for my monthly dietitian I will go through with it( but no) I chickened out. so finally finally my mind, heart and soul aligned to go threw with it. It wasnt until then that I went all the way. you have to be in it. you have to believe, you have to think of yourself the positive leave the negative behind. you have to be at peace with the outcome. the fact my surgery was on EASter week this made it special to me like God was with me no matter what.

So I had my 1st dose of Pfizer just before my surgery. My only symptom with the first dose was some arm pain. I got my 2nd dose 2 days ago. I started to experience symptoms late Friday. Saturday around noon I had chills, fever of 101.3 and took some Tylenol and got sleep. I got up and checked again around 6pm and it was 103. I called in to check and they told me these symptoms can last for up to 72 hours. Today I am feeling and doing all better.

See picture! so I went home on Easter Sunday and thought Premier Protein 1 gram of sugar , 160 calories, 30 Protein fit all the requirements, although it did some requirements not all of them so with this surgery you must follow to the letter. the only one true Protein Shake that I needed was Ensure Max Protein shake this is considered a clear protein shake and I have been able to tolerate it. the other one I poured a 1 ounce cup and sipped less than 1/4 of it and immediately my stomach did not tolerate it, kept coming back up my throat. so I hope this helps you guys when you are post OP, remember all Protein Shakes are not created equal.

That is exactly what I was hoping to make sure I knew if any reaction was surgery or shot related. I did get it on Friday! the Pfizer and I had no reaction. I am glad for my bariatric pals for replying.

After about ten years of not seeing the scale go down, Post Surgery I can see the scale go down and down and I can't believe it! This is shocking to me as for the past ten years it has been slowly going up and up. I had been thinking about surgery for around ten years and went through two programs completing them only to back down, then on the third program finally I was ready. I think what pushed me was that I was in it heart and soul basically mentally and physically ready for the whole process. I had great fear and so I knew it is fear because I am not taking it serious and doing what they are asking me to do. there are so many steps and even once you pass them your mind has to agree and believe it and you have to have a sense of confidence. something I did not have the first two tries. The scale going down is your reward in the end because now I know I am on my way to a healthier happier life!

When I went to preadmission before my surgery (March 29), I had asked the internal medicine doc if I should wait after surgery before getting the vaccine. She had advised me to wait a few weeks after surgery. Since it will illicit an immune response...and suggested making sure I am healed up from the surgery first. Mine first dose is booked for next week. Other than not spreading your immune system too thin, she didn't cite and reason not to get it after surgery (few weeks).

I'm getting my first Moderna shot today but I am almost 2 years out. Definitely check with your surgeon as they may recommend waiting a little more if you still healing.

Same as everyone else. You want to wait long enough to make sure if you have an adverse reaction that you can tell whether it's shot or surgery related.

The covid vaccine will likely trigger an immune response or even a low grade fever. What you are trying to avoid is confusion as to what is causing a medical issue or fever (is it an infection from surgery vs vaccine response)...so I would think at least two to three weeks but best to confirm with doctor as you have said.
I have had the first pfizer dose no issues other than an ache in the arm that lasted less than 24 hours.
